The scene opens up backstage at the Pepsi Center, the sight of this week’s Overdrive. Backstage, standing with Cindy Shannon is one half of the APW Tag Team Champions, The Hardcore Kid. With his Title over this shoulder, the Kid is ready for his interview.
Cindy: I am standing here with one half of the Tag Team Champions, the Hardcore Kid, who later on tonight will face off against Sabur. What are your thoughts on your match for tonight?
The Kid thinks for a second
THK: You see Cindy, Sabur and I are no strangers to each other. We’ve been in the ring before and I know just exactly what he’s capable of doing. Sure there is a size difference, and sure he can break me in half, but that doesn’t hide the fact that I hold a tag team victory over Sabur. Lets take a stroll down memory lane. It was about a month ago. The Hardcore Kid and Jason Royce Verses Sabur and Razor Ryan. And if you forgotten what happen, then let me tell you. Jason and I won. We did the unthinkable and won. And what did Sabur do, he got all mad and beat up Razor. And where’s Razor now? In the Unemployment line. So Now Sabur, you think that just because you found yourself a new tag partner that you can take the tag titles from Jason and I? Well all I have to say is Just bring it because we’re not going down without a fight. And here is a message to Tony Blackwell. Don’t turn your back on Sabur when ever you guys lose a tag match.
Cindy: Any game plan for your match against the power house?
THK: Hit and Run. Sabur may be bigger and stronger, but I’m younger and faster. Speed is the key to victory. At least, that’s the plan
Cindy: You we’re able to be undefeated in the month of June, do you think you can continue that streak heading into Overdrive.
THK: I sure as hell plan on it. For the past few months, I’ve been working hard and it shows. Never lost a match last month, and now I got a tag team title over my shoulder. I’ve been here from day freakin one and I worked hard, paid my dues and it all paid off. And tonight, I plan on showing the world that the Hardcore Kid isn’t just some guy who got lucky when he won half of the tag titles. I want to show everyone that I am more than a hardcore Wrestler. I’ve been labeled as a jobber, but all that stops right now. I am just as good as half the roster in APW. And I am worth of holding the tag titles. Jason and I beat Spirit and Diana Steel and what do they do, they ran off and now no one know’s where they are. Why? Because they couldn’t face the facts that for one night, That Jason Royce and The Hardcore Kid, APW’s Jobbers we’re better than them. And tonight, Sabur is going to find out that I am better than him. So Sabur, You bring your muscles. You bring that big head of yours and you bring your lil dick, because you’re going to need everything that you can if you want to win tonight. But when it’s all said and done Sabur, I’m bringing you STRAIGHT TO HELL!
