Trevor: Tony, how do you like the school so far?
The Hardcore Icon, the Career Killer and the number contender to the APW Heavyweight championship was sitting at a mock announcer’s booth. A Singapore cane was held in one hand, while a blunt was resting between the fingers of the other hand. Tony Blackwell, the Xtreme Champion, and also called Mr. Sex and Violence by a few, was looking out the empty ring. He heard his brother speak, and had an answer to his question. But it was the students of the Blackwell Academy that caught the Hardcore soldier’s eye. They had so much life, so much talent and love for the business. Each one also was innocent of backstabbing, not yet felt the boot of their friend in the jaw, or have the sensation of doing that same act to a person the called “brother”. On the last Overdrive Tony came down to the ring with his brother Trevor for his match with Vin E. Lambardo. Trevor seemed to lose control late in the match, and in a moment of weakness and concern for his brother, the younger Blackwell ran in and assaulted Vin, giving him the DQ win. Thanks to this lapse of concentration and honor, Tony and Trevor would face Vin and Kenny in a family match. Blackwell Vs. Lambardo, the match that would steal the show.
Tony: I like this history, the aura this place gives. These students are not only learning from the best of the business, but are learning in the most storied arena known to the sport. I love what you’ve done here Trevor, but I have one thing that you can add. Gather your kids; I want to speak to them.
Trevor cocked an eye brow and put down the blunt. He stood from his seat and called over to each of the trainees, telling them to rally at the table. Each one acknowledged the order quickly and ran to the table’s front, snap to attention like a soldier. Tony stood up, holding his title tight. He slowly climbed on top of the table, easily towering over any normal man or woman. He cleared his throat and spoke, making sure each learner payed attention…
Tony: Alright, each one of you has come to this school to learn how to survive in sports entertainment. I’ve met each of your instructors and I can safely say you’re in good hands. But each of them misses expertise in one critical department of the sport. The business angle, the out of ring politics. You see, it’s not just enough to have a stable, a group of men fighting with you. Today, you have to be friends with the people around you and against you. Many of the APW faithful, the fans that pay my check, wonder why I am cool with Kenny Lambardo, Vin E. Lambardo, and the rest of the Church of Kaos. Its simple, I need to. You see, you can’t go around being angry at a fighting everyone. You will fail and falter, losing much more than a few matches. Today you have to learn to be friends with everyone you can, avoid those who will bring your image down. I stay away from my own stable mates because, other than my brother here, none of them are competent. At least with Trevor I know I have a fighting brother, blood that will never betray me. /color]
Tony took a deep breath and looked to each of the students. Their eyes showed their attention, eagerness to learn. Trevor looked upon his brother with a confused look, with a glint of anger. What was he doing! Why was Tony preaching about their opponents.
Tony: Vin E Lambardo is a new friend of mine, fighting for his brother in Action Packed Wrestling. Last week I betrayed his trust by interfearinging with his match. Some may have called it smart, injuring the opposing stable leader’s brother. But I for one found my actions appalling. Why did I choose an advantage over loyalty? Why risk open warfare with a larger force? Because of the bond me and Trevor share. We are brothers, comrades in arms. We know each other like no other tag team, like no other family. Spirit and Diana steel, two wrestlers that know the tag world, don’t even know each other like we do. The two of us know how the other thinks, how to play off the others strengths and cover the weakness. If I could, however, I would take the move back. Vin was my friend and I should have respected that. But I can not change the past, and will bring my full fury upon him. I wish him luck.
Tony jumped off the commentator table and leaned against it, spooking a few of the unknowing students. He placed his title on the table and slid his hand over his shaved head.
Tony: Kenny and I have fought against and for each other on quite a few occasions. He has also taught me something each of the times we were in the ring, regardless of side. Recently, with his splitting from Sex and Violence and betrayal of my brother, he taught me the most important thing he could. Sometimes, the battle lines must be made blurry to truly understand what’s going on, and that even your supposed enemy can be your greatest weapon and ally. At any point, I could have gone to the COK and been welcomed. Why? Because I remained a friend of the Heavyweight champ, stayed with him even when the rest of my family fought against him. You see students, by doing what I have been doing I got ahead, kept the rest of my group safer. But because of my lax in discipline, lack in focus, I broke the tie that bound us. Now I must fight him once more, risk the chance of an Ego Crusher or a crucible. But I love taking that chance. Risking utter defeat by the hands of a true master of the business, both in and out of the ring. I say bring your a-game, I'm ready for you. Attempt to bring thy reign, I dare the Lambardos. The Blackwell name is spoken with great respect for a reason. I do not deny the great battle Me and Trevor face on Overdrive will be a loss, but I don’t say it will not be a win. No one hits harder then me, and Trevor is the Excellence of extreme, a legend to be.
Trevor raised the hand with the Singapore cane with pride. Tony brought his title to the same level as the cane, grinning to the students.
Tony: Go and practice your skills, but do not neglect diplomacy. It will serve you well in your coming battles.
Each trainee nodded to The Xtreme Champion and ran to their drills, knowing that in a few minutes they would be punished for their lack of training. Trevor slapped his brother on the back, gave a slight chuckle.
Trevor: You really are a true politician aren’t you Tony? Bending the truth to fit your speech. You aren’t really that cool with Kenny and Vin right? I mean, one of them is trying to go after your belt, the other is holding what’s mine from me.
Tony chuckled lightly as he went to walk to his bike. He needed to get to the airport. He patted Trevor’s back as he passes, and gave a answer…
Tony: Evolve or die, old man. Dare to win.
Tony walked away with a smile on his face. As he passed the doorway towards his bike, the Champion Blackwell noticed Emrys sitting in a dark corner with his camera. The Xtreme champ glared at his stable’s camera guy.
Tony: Make sure you send this to Jeff and the site. Let the world see my words. Also send this to Kenny and Vin. I do not fear you, but I respect you both. Bring your best to me please. I love the challenge.
Emrys cut the camera feed, leaving the last seconds of recording black.
