Shane West: We are backstage ladies and gentlemen anxiously awaiting the arrival of The Ass Kickers Anonymous, who are finally going to speak out and later tonight may get a chance at revenge for what has happened in the past month.
The scene opens inside the parking lot of the arena. There are dozens of cars driving back and forth on the street outside which still shows remnants of sunlight. Inside, however, the lights are on and Shane West stands there in the wind waiting for the arrival of the A.K.A’s truck. No one has heard from Slade or Shadow since the last Overdrive, after the attack on Shadow during his match with The Beast, or Slade from before the show. Craven is set to take on Chris Cyrus at Shockwave, a match that allows for two different types of revenge. First, Slade gets to pay him back for the attacks, and secondly for the twice defeat of Craven’s former tag partner Assassin. Shadow, gets to take on Biggs who has been playing mind games and constantly staying one step ahead of the big man.
Shane: After everything that has happened, we will find out what the A.K.A. intends to do with the opportunity for retribution. They have to face all three members of The Axis of Awesome tonight in a handicap match. But first, lets look back on how this all began.
The scene cuts back to Mayhem, two months ago where Mr. Strange and Biggs were facing one another in a number one contender’s match. Shadow is sitting there completely disinterested in the match taking place. He sits there and his words are heard over the replay of the match. “And lets not forget, no matter what he did in the ring he still was the one who was pinned. He lost to the A.K.A. guys, that is all that matters. But thats what happens when you're an upcomer who shoots their mouth off. The A.K.A. puts you in your place.”
The camera cuts back to Shane who is still waiting. He is trying to bide his time. So he starts to say.
Shane: After that one little insult Biggs erupted on a tirade starting on the Overdive right after Test for the Best.
The camera cuts over to Overdrive where Shadow and Michael Lively are in the ring when The Beast shows up, He is impressively large, standing about 7'5" and looking to be well over 420 pounds of muscle! He then nails Shadow with a ring shaking Clothesline The crowd is in an uproar as the large man pulls Shadow back up, wrapping both of his hands around the throat of Shadow, pulling him back up to a vertical base. He then hoists him up and delivers a Two Handed Choke Bomb! Lively just stands there and nods before slowly turning and exiting the ring. He makes his way up the ramp as the big man continues to beat down Shadow.
Biggs (voice over): Just try and ignore me know, Shadow! Whether you put your Overdrive Title on the line or not, it doesn't matter to me, to I want to face you one-on-one in the ring!
The camera cuts now to Slade Craven in the ring with The Beast as he slides under the bottom rope. Slade sees The Beast stand up and he decides to charge the big man who goes for a clothesline, but Slade ducks it and dives through the second rope tackling Biggs on the outside! The fans are on their feet as Craven hits Biggs taking him to the floor. Then as Craven gets ready to get up, from the side comes Chris Cyrus! He nails Slade with a spear.
Then it cuts to Cyrus bringing the nightstick down across Slade’s face on the following Overdrive. Blood trickles from Slade’s cheek as he drops to the mat. Biggs swings a Kendo stick one final time and it snaps in half over Shadow. The Beast stands over Shadow looming and gazing down at the hurt man.
Shane West: Such heinous attacks…
It cuts to the locker room where, out of no where, Shadow is taken down by Biggs and Slade is hit in the back by a chair from Chris Cyrus. Biggs is punching Shadow as The Beast walks into the picture and Cyrus is ordering him around, Beast grabs Slade and picks him up by the throat with two hands and puts him through a near by wall. Slade falls to the ground with pieces of the wall falling on Slade.
Finally it cuts to last weeks big match, Shadow versus The Beast. When the rest of the Axis of Awesome come running in as the Beast is on his back. Shadow turns towards Cyrus first, shoving the Xtreme Champion off before turning his sights on Biggs! Biggs quickly skedaddles out of the ring, and Shadow looks to follow him, but is attacked by Cyrus again! Shadow turns towards Chris Cyrus, and the two trade punches while The Beast is starts to get to his feet! Shadow gets the advantage over Cyrus, and hoists him up for The Eclipse, as he notices The Beast coming at him! Shadow hurls Cyrus forward hitting the Eclipse on him but also driving Chris Cyrus into The Beast! Then everything slows down when Biggs slides back into the ring with Shadow's Overdrive Championship Belt in his hands, nailing Shadow in the back of the head with it! This gives The Beast the opportunity to pull Shadow up for his Burial Ceremony Two-Handed Sitting Chokebomb, crashing Shadow into the mat! It focuses on Shadow laying there as we hear Biggs’ voice again.
Biggs (voice over): Just try and ignore me know, Shadow!…Shadow!
The camera cuts back to Shane West as the A.K.A’s black and green pickup truck pulls into the arena. Shane West runs over to the truck which opens its doors before stopping. As soon as the vehicle comes to a halt Slade jumps out and Shadow leaps from the passenger side. They are holding their bags and heading past Shane, determined looks on their face. They bump into Shane and walk past him.
Shane: Slade, Shadow! Please a comment on what your game plan is tonight?
Craven stops and Shane nearly falls forward as he is trying to catch up. He regains his balance as Craven turns around and glares at him from behind his sunglasses.
Slade- Shane? You want to know our ‘game plan?’ What the hell is the matter with you? We don’t have one. We don’t need one, The A.K.A. is going to go out there tonight and show the world exactly what its been waiting to see.
Shane: What’s that Slade?
Slade- A beat down.
Craven spins back around as Shadow, who never stopped walking heads for the door. Craven gets to the entrance to the arena as the door shuts again and he flings it open and walks inside as the camera cuts back to Shane West.
Ten minutes later…
The arena is alive as we are less than an hour away from Overdrive. Dark matches are taking place, fans are getting food, drinks, and gifts at outlandish prices. When suddenly Trick Daddy’s “Let’s Go” cues up and the fans leap from their seats. Slade and Shadow are all business as they burst from the back wearing the same thing they wore when they came in. Its obvious they haven’t been to their locker room yet because both are still carrying their ring gear bags, which they drop on the entrance ramp as they walk down it. Craven and Shadow both slide under the bottom rope as Craven begins to motion for the music to be cut and Shadow walks over and calls for a microphone, which he is tossed.
Shadow: Cut the music!
“Let’s Go” abruptly ends as Shadow paces around the ring and Slade is seen fuming with anger.
Shadow: Someone had the nerve to ask us a stupid question no sooner than we got out of the truck tonight. Someone, who shall remain nameless.
Slade: Shane! West!
Slade yells the name as Shadow pauses for a second.
Shadow: So he wants to know what our game plan is. Why should we have a game plan? Seriously! If Biggs is so goddamn smart why doesn’t he just tell everyone what our game plan is. They have been running around for the past month, bragging about everything they have accomplished, how they have beaten us down, broken our spirits and ensured both of their victories at Shockwave. And now tonight on the eve of that great event, we stand, still breathing, and ready for round three. While they are sitting around, gloating over their ‘impending’ victory, with smug faces stuffed full of pride, they have forgotten what has been the only things keeping them on the up and up this past month.
Slade- The Beast?
His words are mouthed in a sarcastic manner. Shadow shakes his head.
Shadow: No. That is not what has kept them in charge of the situation. No not at all. It has been this simple thing.
Shadow points to the titantron and a video cues up. It highlights each of the events show earlier in Shane West’s compilation. And every time it notes how the Axis has never charged their opponents head on, someone has always come from the side to save another.
Shadow: What are you going to do tonight boys? When there is no where to hide? You see?
Craven stops him and calls for the microphone.
Slade- No, no hold on. Let “The Main Man” spill the beans. Come on,
Shadow hands over the mic.
Slade- Let ole Slade Craven spin you a little story. Tonight there will be three men on your team, two men on this team and one ring for everyone to fight in. And no matter how much you try. No matter how fast you think you are. The A.K.A. has you, all three of you, in the same spot, in plain sight, and right…where…we…want…you.
He pauses and smiles, the first sign of enjoyment from Slade or Shadow since their arrival. Showing their anger earlier may have been a façade to make everyone watching think that the entire Axis of Awesome is inside their head.
Slade- Chris Cyrus, tsk tsk, Chris Cyrus. You have taken a huge step forward in life. You have changed your name. You seem to think that you beat Assassin and that you can defeat Slade Craven. There have been a lot of people to think that over the years. But what they fail to realize is you can stop one member of the A.K.A. but you cannot stop us all. Every member of the A.K.A. is different, you two faced Slade and Assassin in a tag match and lost, now you three will stand against the surviving members of the A.K.A. at the request of “The Main Man. You think that the outcome is going to be different this time? No, one of you three will fall tonight, and the other two get to watch in horror as their dreams of being the first team to actually end the Ass Kicker Anonymous are burnt alive right before their very eyes.
Shadow reaches over and takes the microphone back.
Shadow: Biggs, for the past month you have ran, and hidden behind your new mentally retarded boyfriend waiting for a chance to strike, completely unable to handle things for yourself. You let your muscle do the fighting while you run your mouth. Then, when you have your opportunity you come in and deliver a few kicks to a man who is laid out. That’s real ‘Bigg’ of you. I’ve been waiting for you to agree to get in the ring with me. Yeah I held back, I didn’t want to hurt you, you kept trying to step up in life, make yourself bigger than who you are. Biggs, you wanted me? You got me, come Shockwave you get exactly what you want, me one on one. But beyond that, we’re going to have to compromise. I gave you your match, and you are going to lose, plain and simple. This isn’t about who the better or smarter man is Biggs. This is about who is going to hurt the other the most. Believe me that match will be quick and painful.
Craven holds out his hand, he has more to say.
Slade- Axis of Assholes listen up, you can sit in your little diner, record over your orgy cause you cant afford a second tape, and dress up like us? Slade has been saying it for a long time, you wish to be the A.K.A. that’s fine, who wouldn’t? The A.K.A. is about kicking ass, and having fun in the process. But, when someone decides they have the balls to try and take down one of the greatest tag teams of all time, then the meaning changes, not the meaning of the acronym, the meaning of the ass kicking. It goes from pleasure, to business. Now obviously you have an obsession that probably could use a trip to the ole head doctor, you know kind borders on a Buffalo Bill sex fantasy, and that’s okay, this is America. People have the right to be that way and it just means you give a new meaning to pounding ass. It’s okay, you dress in drag, put on make up, like having mess around your mouths. It all makes sense to Slade Craven now.
He face palms himself for a moment and laughs.
Slade- So tonight, when you’re running each other up with oil, giving each other the Triple Dutch Rudder think about this one little thing. What will you do when you are not the winners tonight? Who is going to rub your bottom and tell you its all better? Ain’t going to be us. Come tonight, we will get even with you for what you’ve done. This is not about revenge, that’s not a valid motive, its an emotional response, this is about punishment. Tonight we will deal out a punishment for what you have done in the past weeks. Every punch landed every kick hit, will serve its purpose. Biggs, Cyrus, Beastie Boy, whoever is in the ring at the time “The Main Man” is gets to know what its like to face the most mesmerizing man in professional wrestling. You will learn in due time how the A.K.A. can often be imitated but never duplicated.
Slade’s tag partner snatches the microphone from him.
Shadow: There is more to it than that Slade. Biggs wants to play a game and while you may be willing to do so. I won’t This isn’t a game to me. Yes there will be retribution, there will be punishment and I will finish what I started with Biggs’ little lapdog. Someone in the Axis will fall tonight, someone will be sacrificed by their own teammates. The other two, will scurry away like roaches when the lights come on. Tonight this is the moment when the A.K.A. decimates the Axis, and shows them just how weak they really are. Game plan? Biggs you should know what we have in store for you. But what do you have left? Every little attack, every little surprise, you’ve run out Biggs. And I got one for you. Tonight You will learn there is no escape, and no matter how fast you run, or who you hide behind, you will pay for what you’ve done.
Craven snatches the mic back and looks at his friend with a puzzled look. Slade is still a bit livelier.
Slade- Hey, hey Shadow man, come on. Remember there is one plan tonight.
Shadow cocks his head and mouths “Whats that?”
Slade- To make them "Rue The Day, They Messed With The A.K.A.!”
Trick Daddy’s “Let’s Go” Kicks back up as Slade raises his arms high. Shadow, on the other hand, climbs over the top rope and starts back up the ramp. Craven takes another moment to bask in the spot light showing no fear. He is ready for tonight. But shadow on the other hand is not ready for what happens next. Craven walks up the ramp and grabs his bag as Shadow departs behind the curtain with his own. The fans are cheering and chanting Craven’s name as the camera switches to Shadow who makes his way through the locker room area. It cuts back to Slade who has stopped at the top of the ramp and is shaking hands with fans and posing. Everyone is pumped for Overdrive which is going to start soon enough. The fans are screaming loudly as Slade finally turns and goes backstage. Shadow is now in the catacombs that make up the locker room. He is alone, no one around him as he approaches the A.K.A’s locker room. Slade is talking to Shane West backstage.
Shane: Slade why didn’t you just give me the interview?
Craven looks at him like he has gone full retard or something.
Slade- Because, you are a jackass. And you asked a really stupid question. Come on man, this isn’t a football game. Slade Craven ain’t no coach. He’s an Ass Kicker, and you know what that’s exactly what he is going to do tonight, kick some ass, and relax.
Shane: Well what about the comments about your drinking?
Slade- What about it? Slade Craven hasn’t had a drink in months. They can say what they want, but the only people who will be drinking tonight are the Axis because well, got to drown your sorrows in something when you get spanked, and not in the good way.
The scene cuts back to Shadow as he wanders through the halls. Finally in the distance he sees the A.K.A. written on a door. Shadow walks over and opens the door. When the door opens the camera is on his right profile. Shadow’s eyes get wide and the anger washes from his face. Everything seems to be in slow motion.
Shadow: You…
The camera starts to fade to black before the inside of the locker room is shown.
