The scene opens up at The Olympic Sports Hall in Athens, Italy, the sight of tonight’s Wednesday Night Overdrive. The fans are making their way into the arena. Floods of people surround the merchandise stand while others hit the food court before going to their seats. While in their seats, waiting for something to happen, the lights slightly dim and the titantron flickers on. You see an Exit door opens up and in walks the APW Xtreme Champion, Chris Cyrus and boo‘s are heard from in the arena. Wearing his new “Simple Awesome” T-Shirt, now available at the Merchandise table, and the Xtreme Title over one shoulder and his ring gear bag over his other shoulder. Chris walks in and is quickly stopped by Backstage Interviewer, Shane West.
Chris: The hell do you want?
Shane: Chris, can I get a few words from you about your match tonight against Rocky Starr in the Unification match for the APW and CWF Xtreme Title?
Shane puts the microphone to Chris mouth. Chris looks at Shane and says.
Chris: Make it quick. I have a huge match tonight that I’m going to win. I need to get ready and make sure that by the end of the night, I’m still champion.
Shane: Like I said, your fighting Rocky Starr tonight to unify the APW and CWF Xtreme Titles. What are your thoughts about the match and the fact that an APW title is getting unified?
Chris: As far as I’m concerned, Unifying my title with another title is a joke. Especially how it’s a title that Jason Royce brought in from a 5 year old dead federation, just because he couldn’t win a title in APW without me carrying him. You can all this match what ever you want. Rocky can call himself a champion if he wants. But the fact of the matter is that, right now, there is only one Xtreme Champion in APW, and your looking at him and those are the facts.
Shane: Rocky is a seasoned veteran, he’s been in many Hardcore type matches. Are you confident enough that you can with, even without using any weapons?
Chris: It doesn’t matter to me how long Rocky Starr has been in this business. Look at Slade Craven, look at Assassin, I’m pretty sure they’ve been in this business just as long, if not, longer than Rocky Starr and I beat them both. Rocky will be no different. See, When Rocky first came to APW back in December before disappearing, what he saw from me is nothing compared to what I can do in the ring now. When I won the Xtreme title at last year’s Christmas Chaos, it marked the beginning of a new era and that era is continues on and its going strong. Rocky may have started this in this business long before me, but I’ve been in APW since day one. I’ve been on every show, I’ve wrestled in every Pay Per View. And this is going to be what, Rocky’s fifth match since returning. I mean, come on, I’m at the top of my game right now. Rocky is old and broken down. I’m faster than him, stronger and sure as hell better looking. The days of Chris Cyrus being an Underdog is now over. The days of Chris Cyrus being used as a stepping stone is now over. Chris Cyrus is now the man with the target on his back, because everyone wants a piece of me. Everyone wants my title. They can’t stand the fact that I managed to hold on to this title for as long as I have. They can’t stand the fact that they know I am better than them
See, Rocky Starr is going to learn that tonight, he should have stayed home. He’s going to learn that he’s not the wrestler he once was. Its time for him to take a step back and let the new generation of wrestlers take over. I’m going to show Rocky tonight that Hardcore Wrestling isn’t the way of life. I’m going to show him at Technical wrestling is better and more dangerous than hitting someone with a chair. Rocky Starr is past his prime and I’m just getting into mine.
Shane: If you lose, where do you go from here?
Chris gets an angry look on his face and stares at Shane and the fans boo Chris, but he just ignores it
Chris: If I lose?
Chris grabs the microphone and pushes Shane out of the way and looks into the camera
Chris: I won’t lose. I haven’t even heard from Rocky in like a week. I don’t even know if he will show up. For all I know, he’s still in France being a French maid. Tonight is a history making night. Tonight we combine two titles into one. Being a unified champion, that’s something I want to add to my Resume. I’m already going to go down in history as the Greatest Xtreme Champion of all time, unifying the title just cements it. Before I won this title, this title was a joke, being tossed around more than Jason Royces mom. But since I won it, I saved this title. I made this title worth something and now there’s a line up of people who want to face me for this title. All I have to say about that is “Just Bring It” Because all you guys in the back who want a piece of me and my title, you just watch my match with Rocky tonight when I make an example out of him. And at the end of the night, I will prevail, I will walk out the same way I’m walking in, a champion, the APW Xtreme Champion. And you know what, there’s not a damn thing anyone, especially Rocky Starr can do about it. Like I’ve said about every Xtreme title match I’ve recently been in, I’m not picking up one chair, not setting up one table, I’m not using any weapons and I could care less is the fans chant boring, or boo me out of the building. I’m a wrestler and that’s what I’m going to do, Wrestle. I don’t need to kill my body for the fans because if they expect me to kill myself for their enjoyment, then there not really fans.
The arena begins echoing with “Cyrus sucks” chants from the crowd
Chris: Tonight, Rocky Starr, because after tonight, your gonna know what the Hype about Chris Cyrus is really about when you find out why I am Simply…..Awesome!
