Shadow is pacing backstage waiting for his music to play. He wants to get out there, the crowd is waiting for him. Shadow knows that there is a lot riding on tonight. Just because the guy is new, that makes it all the more important to look powerful. Sure the man he is about to face is an intolerant ass nozzle, but Shadow cannot look weak at this moment. Someone is wrestling in a dark match, someone who has already beaten by a guy in the A.K.A, the guy working in the ring is unimportant. He is fuming with anger after what happened last week. Biggs goaded him, suckered him into finally accepting the challenge. This guy would not get the better of him again. Shadow refused to let that happen again. The bell rings as the actual guy from the A.P.W. beats the local wrestler. All the guy has to do is get his ass to the back and Shadow’s music will play and he can go out there and address the people of Maine. Its going to be a bad crowd for someone like Bennett to insult. The state of Maine is mostly white. Hell despite how popular A.P.W. is, they almost did not sell out the house. Then, Kito Magnusson walks to the back and heads down the hallway. The ref walks the winner, Kid Cannabis to the back. Then Alterbridge’s Metallingus begins to blare. Shadow doesn’t wait long before he bursts through the curtain wearing black jeans one of his shirts and his leather duster. The camera cuts to the ringside area where the roaring fans who are on their feet for Shadow. Shadow wastes no time getting to the ring, climbing up to the apron and over the top rope. He gets in the ring with an angry sigh and reaches over the opposite side for a microphone. He paces around the ring in anger plastered across his face.
Shadow: Alright I am just going to say this out right. I am pissed. Hell no I am more than pissed guys. I get pissed when I would lose my car keys, I would get pissed when someone stub my toe, so if that’s pissed off, how to I feel right now?
He continues to walk around the ring.
Shadow: Biggs has crossed the line. He goes out and finds a friend t try and bully his way around the locker room to get what he wants. This is not how you do business. Biggs, you say I insulted you at Mayhem, no I paid you a compliment. Anyone could say you down right sucked, but I put it in such elegant terms that made your appear to suck less than you already do.
Shadow knows his comment was not witty he just is stating fact. He continues to pace around the ring with the mic to his lips, his hair pulled back into a ponytail.
Shadow: I will not let him go down in history as the man who took me out. Which is why I am here tonight, because this guy, Ted Bennett, he is taking me on tonight. A fellow Texan, but one who is completely intolerant, and shares no compassion for the people who come to these shows. You are the reason we get paid. And he wants a world of white people who belong in America. That’s not what this land is, it’s the land of the free, and I am free to put my foot up his ass. And Biggs I know you will be watching this match, I know you will be sitting on the sidelines with your little dog waiting to dig his way under the fence.
He lowers the mic and runs his hands through his hair.
Shadow: You know, I don’t like coming out to the ring and just ranting and raving. Its just not what I like doing. I prefer to sit at home, and relax, but Texas has been to hot as of late and I like the temperature to be somewhere pleasant. Because when I beat the hell out of someone, I want to feel comfortable, and right now I don’t feel that way. I have to look over my shoulder for some seven foot asshole and watch out for leprechauns who want to try and steal the gold. And what tops it all off is I now have to deal with some Psycho Redneck who thinks Mexicans take a family portrait by piling into the back of a pick up truck and running a red light. That isn’t right.
He finally leans against the ropes looking up at the entryway. As he looks out over it, he sees the curtain moving.
Shadow: Who is that back there huh? Could be anyone, could be a tech, Biggs or Bennett. Does it matter to me anymore? No it sure as hell doesn’t I could stand here all day rambling on and on about how I don’t know anything about Bennett. And how I am still cleaning house on these rookies who show up in A.P.W. getting their shot at the big time. Whenever Jeff signs a new guy who gets booked against them, Either Slade or myself and what happens to those guys? They get their asses beat and they never show up again. You think Jeff wouldn’t want that he should start booking them again other guys who are used to getting beat down, guys like Strange and Biggs who take an ass kicking and smile while you do it. No this is Bennett’s shot to get a contract. And what is going to happen? Biggs and Baby Huey are going to come out and interrupt the match and ruin my evening. Hell Biggs being in the arena tonight is already doing that.
As Shadow shakes his head he walks away from the ropes and back to the center of the ring.
Shadow: So what can I say? I don’t know jack crap about my ‘esteemed’ opponent and could care less if my adversary climbs his “giant’s” magic beanstalk. I think I need to thank Jeff though because I have a lot of aggression to get out. Someone is going to pay for what happened these past two weeks. An I guess that someone is going to be Mr. Bennett. I am offering no apologizes to you man. I have to make an example of you, not because you are new, just because I have to show Biggs what he is in store for at Shockwave. Biggs wanted a match with me Bennett, and tonight you get to see what I plan on doing to him. Well you wont see, you’ll feel. And believe this is going to be quick, and painful.
Shadow drops the mic in anger and gets out of the ring. He slowly starts walking up the ramp. He puts his hands on his hips and leans his head back as he takes each step. Shadow is not happy, he does not want to have to keep watching his own back. But Shadow cannot show weakness, Biggs cannot have the upper hand, and someone has to be the broken man. That person is Bennett, the man who signed a contract with A.P.W. a man whose death warrant was signed with Jeff decided to book him again Shadow in the middle of this feud. Someone has to pay for what happened. Tonight its going to be Bennett, next week who knows. Shadow reaches the top of the ramp and doesn’t turn back to the crowd. He just looks at the curtain and raises his arm high acknowledging his fans. He won’t turn because they could be waiting beyond the curtain waiting for their chance to strike. Well no one is going to get the drop on Shadow tonight. He is going to make one hell of an impact.
