The scene opens to a casually dressed Donald Deruty. The Action Packed Wrestling superstar is dressed with a pair of blue jeans and a light blue dress shirt. His sleeves are rolled up to his elbows as he makes his way into a nice hotel room with suitcase in hand. The plastic carved wheels attached to the portable suitcase ramble as they roll across the freshly waxed tile flooring of the lobby. As his sneakers echo through out the door free room he makes his way towards the counter of the Winnipeg bed and breakfast.
He slowly flips his suit case back into upright position before sliding the extended arm of the suit case back into the base of the carrier. Donald then directs his attention to the young and beautiful Canadian woman standing behind the counter. Her height is in no way intimidating as she stands at a five foot nine, but her uniform says otherwise. A bright gold managers name tag is placed directly above her right breast as she stands behind the counter with the bell boy just feet away from the two individuals. Donald waits a moment before turning back towards the young woman asking for his room key.
Donald Deruty: Hello how are you mam?
Young Clerk: Good, what is the name on the room sir?
Donald Deruty: Deruty.
The young clerk goes over to her computer and begins to type in a musical rhythm. The distinct sounds of the keys can be heard as he hits the individual keys five times to spell out the odd and unusual name of Deruty. She then slowly moves her hand towards the mouse of the computer just a foot from the keyboard. Then she proceeds to hum the same tune only with the sounds of the mouse this time. Donald awaits patiently as he looks around the room at the décor of the lobby.
While he is searching the lobby he notices many different pictures of Canadian music vocalists and celebrities such as the beings of Michael Buble and Ryan Reynolds. Donald just chuckles at the thought of the box office disaster of the movie Green Lantern that was released in the middle of last year. He continues to look upon the lobby, awaiting for the clerk to finally ring up his room and receive his key to his new suit in the foreign country. His eyes scan the room until he reaches the presence of the bell boy standing just under six feet, with his attention focused on one thing. Donald tracks his gazing eyes towards the blonde clerk that is standing behind the counter of the Winnipeg bed and breakfast. Another chuckle comes from Donald as the age different between the two individuals is rather obvious and common between this years generation.
By the time Donald has had his fun looking upon the lobby he is then forced to focus his attention back on the clerk.
Young Clerk: Here you are Mr. Deruty. I hope you enjoy your stay and have a nice day. Would you like assistance with your luggage?
Donald Deruty: You too mam. Also no thank you, I will be fine on my own. I need the exercise anyways.
A smile comes across the face of Donald as he extracts the handle from his carrier once again before proceeding towards the elevator that sits on the lobby door awaiting a participant. Donald takes a step within the elevator as he pulls his suitcase in with him as he reaches his hand to his selected destination. He then pushes the partly transparent light to his pre-determined floor of occupation. He then awaits in the elevator until his respected floor is presented to him upon the other side of the elevator doors.
Donald Deruty: Some may ask me why I am in such an interesting and likeable mood upon this day of the 6th. Many individuals ask me if I am disappointed with the losses that resulted from both the Meltdown SuperShow and Christmas Chaos, well I have one answer for them. Of course I am disappointed but that is not why I am here in Action Packed Wrestling, I am not here to mope and hang my head and every loss that is added to my freshly printed resume. I know that I am here for much more, and I know when my time will come, and 2012 wasn't the year for Donald Deruty in Action Packed Wrestling. Then the response from individuals is well, when is it going to be Donald Deruty's time?
Of course I am not a mind reader, fortune teller, nor do I believe within the two activities and practices, but I am here to tell you that the year 2013 will not be the year of Evan Envi, a man projected to do great not only on the brand of Overdrive, but also within the entire Action Packed Wrestling company. Although I am here to tell you that it will not be his year of greatness, it will not be Tuhoa Valo, it will not be Terry Marvin, nor will it be the year of any other competitor not only on the Overdrive roster, but Action Packed Wrestling in general. I am not denying that these named individuals will not have a successful year within Action Packed Wrestling, that is un-deniable, it is simply inevitable. Although I am here to say that all their accomplishments will be overshadowed by one man's actions and that man holds the name of Donald Deruty.
I have already made my mark within the company of Action Packed Wrestling. I have already been in two championship matches, both within the two respected divisions. My name has been said to be a huge sleeper and potential treat within the new Overdrive roster. My chisel is already placed on the Action Packed Wrestling stone, all that is left of me is to pick up my hammer and begin to chisel away. What lies within that stone is my career, my future accolades, accomplishments and challenges that stand along the way. It is a new year, and it is also the beginning of a new era, and the leader of that era is named Donald Deruty.
I have the chance to start this new year off on a relatively good note. Although two individuals stand within my way, and those two men are Warren Peace and Eric Steel. One of those men have already made his mark within Action Packed Wrestling. This man has quite a history here within the APW business, yet I am here to create my own history and adding a victory against Warren to my resume would be a feat within itself. Although it is a new year, it is no longer the year of Warren Peace, he has had his time to shine, he was a main eventer here within Action Packed Wrestling, yet now all he is is the first challenge that stands before me of the new year.
The doors of the elevator slide open to reveal the hallway of his floor. He takes some silent steps across the carpet of the hallway until he reaches the room and door that matches the number upon his key. He then places the card key into the door and unlocks it with one swipe. The door unlatches and flings open to reveal a nice room with a king sized bad and a full bath.
Donald then places the carrier to his side. He flips of his sneakers and makes his way towards the ends of his bed. He then pushes the power button to the flat screen television and then proceeding to push the eject button upon the DVD player. Donald then makes his way towards the suit case as he places it on the bed and unzips it to reveal a single DVD on a mountain of clothes, both formal and casual. He takes the disk and places it in the player, awaiting for the video to start as he leans back on the bed watching the television. The sight of Brett Favre in a Minnesota Vikings jersey pops up on the television screen. A smirk comes across the face of Donald before continuing.
Donald Deruty: Brett Favre, one of the best quarter backs to ever put on a NFL football jersey. Yet after years of being on the football field his talents shrunk into a disappointment. Unfortunately, one of my opponent's fate will be like the man that is known as Brett Favre. His time has pasted, as so has Warrens. It is time for a new era of superstars to hit the scene of Action Packed Wrestling, and unfortunately Warren has no chance of being within that group.
Warren has already made his mark, accomplished huge wins, accolades, and placed his name into his opponent's memory. He is no longer that historic wrestler he was years ago, he is now nothing but a road block to all of the new roster members and future main eventers. Warren definitely has the experience in the ring and knows the Action Packed Wrestling ring from ring post to ring post, but he has no idea what is awaiting for him on Monday night. He doesn't realize that “The Silver Lining” and myself are not only two of the biggest stars coming out of Meltdown today, we are also the most talked about tag team as of late out of all the brands. We have defeated men of a caliber like Nick Watson, Evan Envi, and Delikado. Warren Peace is just another name that is going to be added to our impressive Meltdown resume.
Also in the match is a newcomer that calls himself Eric Steel. A young man looking to make a new name in the business of Action Packed Wrestling. A young man looking to get his feet wet, just like “The Silver Lining” and myself wanted just a few months ago. This young man has a match awaiting him of such a high caliber that he will be hit from his blind side. I don't think this new competitor knows what talent and challenge that “The Silver Lining” and myself has and will bring to that Action Packed Wrestling Ring. Unfortunately for the new competitor he will have a rude awakening and a tough opening match here within a new company of occupation. Eric I wish you the best within future endeavors, but this week you have no idea what you are walking in. You are a cat being thrown into a hungry dog's pen, and lets just say it ends with a full bellied canine.
This week isn't the only opportunity for me to prove to my competitors and the Action Packed Wrestling world that this year is the year of Donald Deruty. Another event stands at the end of January and of course I speak of nothing but the huge event known as Survive and Conquer. One of the biggest inter fed competition within our business, and within that night I will not only prove that I am one of the best wrestlers within Action Packed Wrestling, but everywhere around. The year of 2013 has begun and for Donald Deruty it begins with another “W” added to “The Silver Lining” and myself's resume.
The scene ends with Donald turning off the television following him ejecting the disk placing it back into its respected case and placing it back into his carrier. He then leans back on the pillows of his bed, and stares upon the ceiling of his room. The scene goes dark and silent.
