Depeche Mode's “Spacewalker” plays as the words FIRST CONTACT flash across the starry background in big, bold blue letters. The video transitions to Biggs inside a small wrestling ring in a dive bar. The pub is dark and smokey, save for the spotlights on the ring. The ring itself is a rickity structure, with black ropes, a red mat, and no turnbuckle cover pads! Rowdy fans are literally at ringside, pounding the apron with their hands and fists, cheering the Spaceman on as he faces off against a local wrestler by the name of Brit Richards. Richards looks to be about 250 pounds, about 6 foot, five inches tall, and is wearing a red singlet with the Union Jack on his belly. Richards has Biggs backed into the corner, and pounds him with fists to the face, with such velocity that sweat can be seen flying off the head of the APW Mega Star! As Biggs is dazed, Richards takes a few steps back, and rushes in, but Biggs dodges, causing Richards to crash chest first into the exposed turnbuckle! Biggs sees his opportunity and grabs a hold of the head of Brit Richards, running up the ropes and floating over to nail the Bigg Time! He quickly mounts the top turnbuckle and leaps off, going for a UFO Frog Splash! The ceiling is so low in the building that Biggs almost hits it in midflight, but he still connects with the Frog Splash! He hooks both legs, 1...2...3! DING! DING! DING!
The fans pop, and pound the mat even more, as Biggs soaks in the adulation. Money exchanges hands at ringside, and Biggs exits the ring, slowly waiding through the crowd.
The video cuts out, and comes back on as Biggs is in what appears to be a make shift locker room. He's still in his ring gear, and is removing his boots. He looks at the camera and begins to speak.
”Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Biggs' First Contact! I am your host with the most, I am Biggs! As all of you know, I am a huge fan of wrestling, and enjoy getting any and every opportunity to fight in that ring. Tonight, I was doing my buddy a favor, wrestling his rinky dink show, but in all honesty, I think he was the one who did me a favor by allowing me to compete here tonight! Because each and every match you wrestle, you learn something new. Whether it's about your opponent, yourself, or just the general craft of wrestling. Now this week, I face off against a man whom I've met a couple of times before, Evan Envi. We've squared off enough times to where the question could be asked, 'What more can I learn from a match with him?' Okay, so we've wrestled twice, and I've found him to be just as good as the hype about him says he is. But before I get to talking about my match this week, there's a couple of topics I want to hit up.”
“First off, I'd like to apologize to all the fans and to APW for not being able to end the Year of Terry Marvin. Sure, everyone's been saying that it was an amazing match, that we took each other to our very limits, and that we wrestled in an all-time classic. But the bottom line is that I did not get the job done, I did not accomplish what I set out to do, and that was to become the new APW Undisputed Champion. Everyone says that I should be proud of my performance, that I put up a good fight, and that I gave the fans some real hope.”
“Excuse me for sounding like a selfish jerk, but that's small solace considering what was on the line. I've never understood how somebody could lose a title match, and just laugh it off like it was no big deal. I don't get how somebody can be okay being on the losing end of a match, especially with the Undisputed Championship at stake.”
“But the only person I have to blame is myself. Simply put, at Christmas Chaos, I was not good enough to defeat Terry Marvin. I have to give the man a lot of credit, he fought tooth and nail, as did I, but in the end, it was his hand that got raised in victory. I have to respect that. But just because I have to respect your abilities, Terry Marvin, it doesn't mean I have to respect you! You certainly didn't show me or the fans any respect with they way you've been conducting yourself over the last few months, acting like you and Level-One were on the outs, trying to play the good guy. There's still bad blood between us, Terry Marvin, and even though I've already had my chance at your title, that doesn't mean I'm going away anytime soon! I realize that I'm going to have to wait for another shot at the Undisputed Championship, but I don't have to wait for another shot at you, Terry Marvin! You're in the Survive & Conquer match, well so am I! I hope we get the opportunity to tie up once more, Terry, because I know that you're gunning to win this match, and I am too! I'm not going to let a little thing like the Number 9 entry slot prevent me from getting my hands on you, Terry!”
“Terry, you march and saunter around like you own APW, like you're bigger than APW itself! Well, Terry, keep it up, because that'll just make you an even bigger target than you already are in the Survive & Conquer match! Let's be honest here, Terry, whoever is the lucky bum that eliminates you, well, they'll get a pretty big feather in their cap. And I'll be honest, after coming up short at Christmas Chaos against you, my cap is feeling quite bare right about now. Obviously, my primary goal is the same as each of the 100 men and women entering the ring for the Survive & Conquer Match, and that is to emerge the winner. But my secondary goal, Terry, and one that would be almost as satisfying, would be eliminating you myself! It won't make up for my loss at Christmas Chaos, but at the very least, I'll have something to rub in your face!”
Biggs flashes his trademark smirk.
”Speaking of rubbing something in somebody's face, it seems like Level-One has made a hobby of rubbing my face in the concrete, whether it be the floor, the wall, whatever. Lester, I know that you don't like me, I know that you're still sore about the fact that I defeated you for the APW Undisputed Championship a year and a half ago, and I eliminated you for the Elimination Chamber at One Night in Hell, but, dude, seriously, let it go. All your cowardly attacks from behind, well, they just reek of cowardice, of desperation. Considering that attacks from behind were my M.O. for several years, I know just how cowardly and desperate you have to be to pull them off.”
“I mean it's like you're afraid to face me head on, like a man! But why would you be afraind of me, Lester? I mean you're Level-Freakin'-One! You're 6 foot, seven inches, 265 pounds. You're a lot bigger man than I am! Also, you're a Four Time APW Undisputed Champion, a Two Time True Experts Champion, and you have a list of accolades longer than you're arm. And while two of the most embarassing moments of your career came against me, the fact of the matter is that in this little dance we've been doing over the years, Lester, you're probably still ahead of me in terms of the overall win count when you take into consideration tag team matches and the like. But even you've got to admit, Lester, when it's been big match time, I've gotten the better of you! Both times we were involved in an Undisputed Championship Match, I did better than you. I outperformed you! So maybe I answered my own question as to why you feel the need to attack me from behind, because you don't think that you have what it takes anymore to face me head on!”
“That being said, Lester, anytime you want to fight me, you know where to find me. Anytime you want to go at in that ring, all you need to do is ask. Because unlike so many people in this business, Lester, I am not afraid of you. I'm not afraid of your reputation, I'm not afraid of your hashtag Celebrity Status, I'm not afraid of your abilities in the ring. If you still got beef with me Lester, if you still think that we need to be squared up, even steven, well, anytime, anywhere, just have the decency to let me know! Be a man, Lester, not a butthead.”
Another confident smirk flashes across the face of the Spaceman.
”So while I am looking forward to getting back at Terry Marvin, and anticipating one day tying up with Level-One once more, the fact of the matter is that I have a pretty big match this week that I should not, and will not be over looking. Evan Envi, we have met twice in the ring. Once in a one-on-one contest, and once in a Triple Threat. You won the first one by count out, I won the second by pinning your shoulders to the mat, 1...2...3. This is the rubber match, the match that determines between us who is the better man.”
“There's been a lot of hype around you ever since you got promoted to the Overdrive roster, Evan, a lot of folks have been pegging you as a sure fire future Main Eventer here in APW. And for good reason. You weren't the first North American Champion in Meltdown history for nothing. But I also think that you've found out the hard way that on Meltdown, you were a big fish in a small pond. Here on Overdrive, there are many fish in the sea, and quite frankly, you're not the big kahuna you thought you would be. You have a lot of talent, and a ton of potential, but it's just that, Evan, potential. Thus far, you've decided to settle with the Xtreme Division, setting your sights on guys like A.C. Smith and Nick Watson, both talented individuals, to be fair, but not guys who are headlining pay per views. Also, I've told you time and time again my feelings on the Xtreme Division, how I view it as garbage wrestling. But there is a portion of the fanbase who eats that kind of action right up, so to each their own.”
“My point is this, Evan, if you want to be viewed as a big time wrestler, when you find yourself in matches with big time wrestlers, you have to find a way to win.”
“And to be brutally honest, Evan, you haven't found that piece of the puzzle yet, you haven't solved that riddle. You can cite your win over me last fall as a career highlight, but I took the cowards way out of that match, and left after you broke my nose. I was more responsible for the fact that I lost than you were for the fact that you won. Plain and simple.”
“You've got to find the way to win, Evan. You can't make excuses. I've been down that road, I've blamed everyone but myself for my loses in the past, but if there's one thing I've learned as of late, be it my failed relationship with my ex-wife Ellie, be it my new partnership with C.J. Gates, the one, overriding truth in this life is that we are all responsible for our own actions, as well as the consequences of those actions.”
“By blaming everyone but myself for my problems, I was never able to overcome them. Rather, they defined my life. When Ellie gave me the ultimatium to choose between her and professional wrestling, rather than taking any time to think about things from her perspective, I moaned and complained about how unfair it was of her to put me in that situation! But as I've been able to look back on it, I've realized things that I did along the way to drive her to that point to where she felt the need to make that edict.”
“I see much of my former self in you, Evan, in that you're blaming everybody but yourself for your short comings, be they professionally, or personally. I know things between you and your girlfriend are 'complicated,' at least that's how facebook would put it, and you're also pissed about the fact that you're not higher up the card than you are now. I've been there before. And for years, I whined and complained, and moaned, and hooted and hollored, and while I did have some success, it was ultimately fleeting. Real success, I've found out, Evan, isn't about what you accomplish, but rather how you accomplish it.”
“So tomorrow night, when we face off in the ring, Evan, ask yourself this one question, how am I going to win this match? Don't bother asking if you're going to win, because let's face it, both of us are going to do all that we can to ensure that it is our own arm raised when the bell rings. How are you going to be able to defeat me, Evan, a man who came within a whisper of being crowned the new APW Undisputed Champion? Are you going to take any and every shortcut that you can? Are you going to go about it fair and square, at least until the going gets tough? Going back to my original point about how you can learn something new in every match, Evan, I think our match tomorrow night we'll learn a lot about you. Whether you really have what it takes to compete at the high level that you think you should be.”
“I'll be honest, Evan, I'm pulling for you. I hope that you can show yourself to be a man of conviction, a man of character. You have all the tools necessary to be very successful in this business, but do you have the attitude?”
“I hope you prove me wrong Evan, but I don't think that you do.”
“You continue to harp on me about how I somehow stole your spot inside the Elimination Chamber, you complain about how I was given a title shot at Christmas Chaos, even though my performance inside the Elimination Chamber warranted me getting that opportunity.”
“I've said it once, I've said it again, Evan, you have to make your opportunities in this business. I busted my butt here in APW for over two and a half years before I got my first Undisputed Title shot, and when I got that shot, I made the most of it, defeating Level-One to become the Undisputed Champion. Only three people in APW can say that they have defeated Level-One for the Championship. Pence Weatherlight, Sally Talfourd, and me. I don't hover around the top of the card just because of my name. I go out and earn that honor by giving my all to this business week in and week out!”
“I didn't get my reputation handed to me on a silver platter! I busted my tail for each and every accolade I've earned in this business! Each of my three Overdrive Title reigns, I earned! And on my third one, I successfully defended my championship every week from Survive & Conquer through RassleMania, and then beyond! It's called consistancy, Evan. Sure, I've had my ebbs and flows over the course of my career. The lossing streak I found myself in upon my return is one of the most humiliating times I've had in my entire life. But the difference between me and you, Evan, is that I grew from the adversity, I didn't let it define who I was!”
“It seems to me Evan that you're very comfortable with where you're at. Sure, you may make a lot of noise about wanting to main event, wanting to be the guy to close out the show night in and night out, but let's be honest here, Evan, so long as you're the guy with all the potential in the world, you've got something to work towards. So long as you're regarded as the 'Future' of APW, you have some room for growth, to make mistakes. For now, you don't have to live up to your potential, you don't have to live up to the hype. But once you're arrived, Evan, you will understand the pressure of having to live up to your potential, of having to deliver on you hype!”
“Where you're at right now, Evan, your potential is undefined, it's intangible. You don't know what your potential trully is until you compete at the very top, and believe me, Evan, you'll find out real quick how good you truly are. But you'll also have to work harder than you ever have before to keep proving your potential week after week, month after month, year after year!”
“I have never taken anything from you, Evan, be it a title match, or a slot in the Chamber, or whatever. But tomorrow night, I can take another chance for victory from you. And I will do just that, because Evan, I'm quite simply OUT OF THIS WORLD!”
First Contact fades to black with the APW logo and copyright flashing across the bottom of the screen.

OOC: As you guys can tell, I'm not happy with this RP at all. Still, Evan, loved RPing against you as always, and can't wait for the next time!
