The scene opens with the sight of a casually dressed Donald Deruty, walking down a busy sidewalk. Rain falls upon Donald's head as well as the other casualties following the same path as the Action Packed Wrestler. Step by step, splash by splash, ripple by ripple, Donald steps in different puddles that lye between him and his pre-determined destination of choice. His feet soaked with water from the puddles, yet the sea of people and himself seem to just walking casually like it was the nicest day outside.
Donald Deruty: Last week was exactly what I verbally committed it would be. “The Silver Lining” and myself spoke of the new year of 2013, and how we are destined to be the next big thing in Action Packed Wrestling. We are already the best tag team within the Meltdown roster, and arguably the entire tag team division. Although this is a bold statement given the current competition and talent upon the new rising tag team division, we have done nothing but prove that we can hang with the best upon the tag team division here in Action Packed Wrestling. No matter, it seems that we are only given the challenge of facing two returning Action Packed Wrestling superstars in their debut match on Meltdown. Which of course ended with Warren Peace and Eric Steel, beginning their newly started career with a “L” in the loss column of their freshly printed resume. “The Silver Lining” and myself said that we would give an example of what we are capable of to Warren Peace and Eric Steel, and we kept our word, neither the less.
Now lets stop talking about the near past, and lets talk about the present. This week I am handed the challenge to face one of the biggest rising stars in maybe Meltdown history. Nothing that I can say can take away the impressive wins that he has already tallied upon his short coming into Action Packed Wrestling. Of course, I speak of the man that calls himself the “Canadian Sensation”, or formally spoken as Christian Kane. This man has been winning week in and week out within his short week length of a start here in Action Packed Wrestling. As I walk down the city streets, fans and observers ask me if I am frightened or nervous about my match this week against one of the fastest rising stars in all of the Meltdown roster. Of course I answer every single question to the best of my ability. In the simplicity of all this, I tell every questionnaire one and only one resonse, and that is simply a one word , one syllable response, No.
I have many different things going through my mind this week, unfortunately nerves and fear is not ones of those things. People look upon the best abilities of their opponents and what they need to avoid or they will regret it, well I see it the other way around. As I watched hours and hours of tape upon my opponent this week, I couldn't help but to continuously find one bad habit, week after week. The one weakness that I speak of is arrogance. Numerous amounts of competitors that have stepped into that ring with me and fallen has had one simple flaw in their pre-match strategy, and of course it results into their downfall. If you look up the direct definition of arrogant, you will find the exact words of, “Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance and abilities.”. Which is exactly what my opponent this week oozes week after week, so much arrogance that comes from his mouth is such un-easing. The definition of arrogant is the perfect way to describe my competitor this week, within a simple eight words.
My competitor, Mr. Kane, looks upon himself as the best talent that has ever reached Meltdown. Which of course could be a love, hate relationship. Confidence is such a great aspect to a competition, that it is often over looked to a great extent. Although confidence is an advantage to have while preparing for a competitive competition such as this one, too much can become a dis-advantage just as quick. Too much confidence upon yourself, and you abilities will, unfortunately for my opponent, end with a result that was not expected. Unfortunately for Mr. Kane, his arrogance will become his downfall. Over estimating a competitor is a deadly thing to do, and as history shows I am not the kind of individual to be overlooked.
The ringing of a magnificent small bell is heard as Donald walks into a nice little gift shop. Surrounding the wet footed Donald is a variety of scented candles to old novelty furniture. Donald looks at the carpet that surrounds his wet feet, as he slowly ascends his head back to face to face position, when an employee of the novelty shop is there standing just feet away from Donald. A small smirk crawls upon Donald's face.
Employee: Excuse me sir, but could you please take off your shoes at the door? We wouldn't want the carpet to get any wetter than it already is.
A corny smile creeps upon the face of the middle aged woman as she continues to stand before Donald like she is awaiting a greeting. Although Donald is still caught of guard by the urgency of the woman greeting him at the door.
Donald Deruty: Of course I can mam, I completely understand. If anything I should be apologizing.
Employee: Is there anything that I can help you with today?
Donald Deruty: No thank you mam, I am just looking around.
Employee: Alright, just hollar if you need anything hun.
The employee then heads back to her desk, leaving a shoe less Donald standing at the front door. Not a single other customer can be seen within the foundation of the novelty store, as far as Donald can see. He patiently picks an aisle, before descending down the store and into the aisle. He looks around the shelves of the aisle, numerous amounts of candles and old jewelry. As he continues to walk down the aisles he reaches a tall grandfather clock that stands about a foot taller than the six foot two Action Packed Wrestler.
Donald observes the grandfather clock before walking closer to it and getting a closer look. He design on the outside of the oak wood clock is beautiful and elegantly designed. After getting a close look the sight of a fresh coat of paint and stainer can be scoped out. After being amazed by the outside of the grandfather clock, he proceeds to open the hatch to the innards of the old oak clock. In one single motion, Donald opens the clock to release a cloud of dust. Moments pass of being engulfed in the dust before Donald continues to research the rest of the inside of the clock. Brass sprockets and pipes fill the grandfather clock, although all of the sprockets and pipes are covered in a dark coding of dust.
The inside of the grandfather clock is obviously counter-part to the elegant outer designs and freshly stained oak wood finish. Donald steps back from the clock for a moment with a semi shocked look upon his pale face.
Donald Deruty: Just as I suspected, although the outside of the clock is beautiful and stunning, the inside is nothing but disappointing. Unfortunately, this clock will not be the only thing I will be disappointed of within this week. Just like this clock, Christian Kane, is fearful and polished on the outside. He has a great image and can hold his own in the four sided circle, although his dusty sprockets are in need of a dusting, and that is exactly what I will supply him with this week. The individual that goes by Christian Kane, as the in ring ability, he has the potential, and most importantly he has a chance at being a huge star in Action Packed Wrestling, although all this early career success has begun to go to his head.
Christian Kane seems to be more worried upon how he looks in the morning than his opponent at the night of Meltdown. Although he keeps his nerves and fears relatively hidden towards not only his competitors, but Action Packed Wrestling management. His excessive amount of arrogance is a result from him winning his first couple of matches here on the second year brand commonly known as Meltdown. All of this short term success has gone straight to his head, and has resulted to exactly what sits in front of me.
The harsh reality about his short term success here so far is that he has only been here through a few weeks, yet he walks around Meltdown like he is the new General Manager of the place. Unfortunately for him, all of these thoughts of easily beating the Meltdown competition will soon be expressed too difficult for not only Christian Kane to acquire, but to any individual that has ever stepped a foot in a four sided circle. Although Meltdown is seen as the lower tier brand, it is far from it, there is events that occur upon Meltdown that is simply Pay Per View, main event material, and this week will be no different is quality or quantity. Thousand and millions of individuals tune in to see the great wrestlers and employees of Action Packed Wrestling perform on Monday nights. Although the match between Christian Kane and myself is a middle of the line up match, it will result into stealing the show from the current North American Champion and #1 Contender, Logan Alexander and Tuhoa Valo. Although it doesn't seem like a career changing match on paper, this match is possibly one of the most importance matches of my newly printed resume here in Action Packed Wrestling, as well as Christian Kane. He has the opportunity of possibly defeating an individual that has already defeated names such as Nick Watson, Evan Envi, and Delikado within his short and 2013 bound, career.
The employee makes her way back towards Donald as he is still admiring the beauty of the grandfather clock. She then proceeds to close the inside of the clock, taking the key, and in one fast and fluid motion, placing it in her left pants pocket.
Employee: I am sorry sir, but please don't open up any furniture or merchandise in the store unless you are interested in buying the product. If you can't handle that one simple rule then I am going to have no choice to ask you to leave.
The haste of the employee shocks Donald as he quickly responds back towards the middle aged woman.
Donald Deruty: I will be no bother, I apologize for breaking one of the few rules. I was not informed that I could not take a closer look.
Employee: It is alright sir, just make sure that you don't do it again or I am going to have to ask you to leave the store.
The woman slowly walks away from Donald and back towards her desk near the front of the store. As Donald turns around he sees multiple people, continuously walking down the street even though the rain seems to be falling harder and harder per minute. After taking a look at the steady falling rain, Donald seems to turn almost immediately before heading down another aisle in the small foundation of the novelty store.
This aisle is filled with glassware, mirrors and dinner plates are placed carefully on the wooden shelves. Donald grips some plates with a soft grip of his wrist as he looks at the multi-colored designs that are indented on the rim of the plates. After admiring the designs of the plates Donald begins to make his way towards the mirrors that sit just feet away from the Action Packed Wrestling rising star. He picks up a mirror that has a wooden frame, the glass is partially cracked at the bottom corner. He looks in the mirror, as a reflection of himself looks right back at him.
Donald Deruty: When I look into this mirror I see something that everyone seems to be missing, and that is a rising star. Multiple individuals have been make rising stars here in not only Meltdown, but Action Packed Wrestling as well. Just a few of the names, Evan Envi, Logan Alexander, Tuhoa Valo, and now Christian Kane. “The Silver Lining” and myself made our way directly towards the finals of the Tag Team Tournament, yet our names are not involved in that list. Not only have I made it to the finals of a huge tag team tournament, I have also shown that I can hold my own against some of the biggest competitors here in Meltdown, yet I am still seen as a middle card competitor. While another individual involved in that match is getting another shot at the very North American Championship that was defended just weeks ago.
In the contrary, my competitor this week has been in Action Packed Wrestling just a fraction of how long I have, yet he is already being stated as a future star. His competitors and challengers have consisted of Aubrey J. Parker, Logan Alexander, two competitors that I faced at Christmas Chaos, John McBride, and Niobe Martin. All impressive competitors in their own, yet they don't match the talent of the competitors that I have faced such as Overdrive competitors Delikado and Evan Envi, who has fallen to “The Silver Lining” and myself. No matter who we have faced, the newly acquired superstar Christian Kane is seen as the favorite, or better competitor if you may say.
Although, no matter the quality of the competitor, all of that is pushed aside the night in which we meet in the middle of the four sided circle. Just like last week with Warren Peace and Eric Steel, Christian Kane will become an example of what I am capable of. Last week “The Silver Lining and myself proved that we can beat some of the best in the four sided circle, and now it is time for me to prove that I can hold my own against singles competitors, and Christian Kane is just the competitor for me to do so. Christian Kane is going to become an example of what I can do in the ring without my tag team partner. Just like I have week in and week out, I will prove that I will hold my own, but this way will be different.
This week I will exceed my expectations, and I will not only hold my own, but I will prove that I deserve to have my named listed with the soon to come greatest in the year of 2013. I have continued to get my name out in Action Packed Wrestling by already competing in two championship matches in my short time here in Action Packed Wrestling, but this week I am out to prove that I should be feared by the current Overdrive roster members. Christian Kane has been that guy as of late, he is seen as one of the biggest threats in Meltdown in current time. This week I am going to show that Meltdown management has it wrong, although Christian Kane has a bright future in Action Packed Wrestling, I am the one that should be labeled with the new rising star of Meltdown.
My time on the Meltdown roster is limited, and while I am still here, I am going to prove that I will make a huge impact once I get drafted into a Overdrive. I have already defeated two of the biggest competitors in Overdrive competition, and now it is time for me to prove my worth to the future of Action Packed Wrestling. It is not only a career changing match for myself it is also a huge match for Christian Kane, and unfortunately his actions will fall short of perfection. Christian has faced impressive competitors in his short time here in Action Packed Wrestling so far, yet he hasnt faced a competitor such as myself. No matter where or when this match takes place, it is still filled with the quality of a main event within itself. Christian Kane and myself will simply steal the show, not the North American Championship match, not the tag match between The Dying Breed and Sons of the South, but the match between Christian Kane and myself, and in this main event I will be the one with my hand raised towards the rafters. Christian is an impressive competitor, and one hell of a wrestler, yet his arrogant mind set, will prove to be nothing but a disadvantage on his part. His ego is huge, yet it will prove to be nothing but a big weight on his shoulders that will do nothing but hold him back from doing exactly what he wants, and that is add a “W” to his new record here in Action Packed Wrestling.
Christian, I cant want to see you in that four sided circle. You are my ticket into greatness here in Action Packed Wrestling. I have already beaten a man that is projected to be wrestler of the year of 2013, and now it is time for me to defeat another man that has been pre-determined to have a successful career here in Action Packed Wrestling. Christian maybe seen as the new rising star of Action Packed Wrestling, well this week I will prove to everyone that I am the silent killer. I am the individual that no one will think I would accomplish as much as I will. I will be the James Douglas of Action Packed Wrestling, and Christian, you are my Mike Tyson.
The scene ends with Donald walking out of the store after placing the mirror back in it original location.
Donald Deruty: Last week was exactly what I verbally committed it would be. “The Silver Lining” and myself spoke of the new year of 2013, and how we are destined to be the next big thing in Action Packed Wrestling.
