The scene opens with a bright and sunny day, the beams coming from the sun reflect off the concrete sidewalks forming the illusion of puddles of water. The street is bare, no one in side within blocks of the walk way or the stores that sit just feet from it. Birds can be heard from above as the scene begins to become more eventful by the second. Echoing starts almost instantaneously as the sound of shoes hitting the hot and settled concrete start to approach. Sliding into the view one step at a time is the Action Packed Wrestling superstar Donald Deruty, formally dressed with a white suit and white and black dress shoes to match.
Donald seems to be carefully walking down the street, wishing upon nothing unfortunately upon himself. One slow step at a time, the progress he makes down the sidewalk is utterly slow and bearable to watch. Although the speed to his body is show, his mind seems to be running one hundred miles an hour. Something rather important seems to be on the mind of the Action Packed Wrestling superstar, something that requires his undivided attention. He passes multiple stores and glass windows, the reflexion of him is all the same, a man that seems to be, to an extent, troubled. As he continues to walk down the sidewalk, people start to flood into the view like a river overflowing a dam. Donald becomes engulfed by the sea of moving civilians, yet it seems to not phase the young up and coming Action Packed Wrestling superstar.
Donald Deruty: Last week was a pure example of my intentions in Action Packed Wrestling, not only was it an example of my intentions, I made an example of Christian Kane. This company has been looking for their brand new superstar in Mr. Christian Kane, yet their new rising star failed to prove why he is being considered one of the best rising stars in the current business. Although where there is fault there is a success, and that success was myself, winning the match last week against none other than the rising star and projected Hall of Fame career holder, Christian Kane. Now honesty is no joking matter of course, Christian Kane did give me a run for my money, we had a competitive match in the four sided circle last week at Saskatoon. The honest truth is simply this, Christian Kane, is a well trained and skilled wrestler here in one of the biggest, best, and most competitive companies that professional wrestling has to offer today. Unfortunately he is no Donald Deruty, and I proved that last week in the four sided circle, and this week will be no change in results.
Much like I projected the week before last, I proved that I should be named a rising star, and last week I claimed that I would put Christian Kane in his place and place my name upon the top of the list. This week, I have no interest in proving my intentions, the only destination that I see myself in is moving on in the Beat the Clock tournament and facing Logan Alexander at Survive and Conquer, a match that I will be entering in at the number eighty six. An event in which I plan to show multiple competitors what I have to offer in that ring. Although that is the mere future, I am here to talk about the present and that of course is directed to my match this week against Christian.
Going back to the subject of interest. Christian thinks that he has what it takes to become great here in Action Packed Wrestling, which is true, but not upon the quality or quantity that he is expecting. It is undeniable, Christian's future is bright here in Action Packed Wrestling, yet not at the caliber in which he is expected. The pressure of being great is getting inside his head, as soon as he is claimed to be one of the best rising stars in Action Packed Wrestling, one thing specifically happens to him, and that simple thing is getting beat by none other than myself. My future here in Action Packed Wrestling will not just be handed to be on a silver platter, by all means that is not in which I intent it to be, but I don't expect any special treatment for other competitors. Such treatment and hype that Christian has been receiving ever since his arrival here in Action Packed Wrestling. Although, I no longer see that hype as an advantage against myself, I see it as an example for myself. Christian's arrogant mind seems to be falling to pieces against the pressure he is being put under, all of this talk about greatness and success, all of it has become his kryptonite.
That kryptonite is within my possession, and it will be used against him, he will no longer be seen as the new rising star that Action Packed Wrestling has to offer. After the results from this week he will be seen as a disappointment to entire Action Packed Wrestling management and company. An individual can only hold and be put under so much pressure and Christian seems to have reached his limit a long time ago.
Donald is still hidden upon the sea of the crowd. Although his snow white suit stands out upon the rest of the casually dressed individuals that surround him. This moment Donald seems to be speeding up in his step and seems to be steadily walking with the civilians that surround himself and the stores just feet away from the individuals.
He turns to his right and heads right for a glass door, followed by a group of the crowd following him towards the store. He grips the hand of the door and pulls it towards him, allowing himself access to the inside of the store. In one sweep, the door swings open allowing Donald and the individuals behind him to enter before it seals closed once again. Looking around upon all of the merchandise that is surrounding him. Donald seems to be surrounded by the presences of multiple maple leaves and Canadian flags. A small smirk falls across the face of Donald before he walks over towards the finely created maple leaf sculptures and models, admiring them with much care before choosing one.
After placing the leaf upon his grasp he then directs his attention towards the back of the store in which he sees a small Canadian flag, the size of a small memorable flag placed upon the gravestones of the fallen. He then places that upon his hands and makes his way towards the counter of the store. Step by step, he slowly makes his way towards the counter until his attention is distracted by another aisle within the small store. There seem to be a small stack of simple medication much like Aspirin and Tylenol. He grabs two bottles of Aspirin to go along with his collection from the store. The odd combination between a maple leaf, Canadian flag, and medication cradled in his arms draws attention from the rest of the customers shopping.
As Donald makes his way towards the counter, with materials in hand, the middle aged woman behind the counter gives Donald an odd look before proceeding to ring up the odd variation of goods.
Cashier: How are you doing today sir?
Donald Deruty: Couldn't be better mam, couldn't be better.
The cashier rings up all of the items and seems to be rushing to have Donald leave the nice little convenience store. She drops the receipt multiple times, forcing herself to lean down and pick it back up, placing it into the hands upon the formally dressed customer. Donald reaches into back pocket, retrieving his wallet. He calmly places his hand into his leather wallet, awaiting the balance that he owes to leave the mouth of the cashier. Moments pass, yet the cashier seems to be fearful for her life as she is as frozen as ice.
Donald Deruty: Mam? Are you ok?
The cashier responds rather immediately with a odd and deranged look crawling upon her face before she realizes what just happened.
Cashier: Of course. I am fine, just day dreaming that is all. Have a nice day.
Donald Deruty: How much do I owe you?
Cashier: Ohh, thats right, umm twenty dollars and seventy cents.
Donald Deruty: Alright. Here you go mam.
Donald reaches in and grips the twenty from his wallet followed by a one from his front pocket. He then proceeds to leave the store before he turns back towards the woman, forgetting something particular.
Donald Deruty: Do you have an empty box, wrapping paper, and a bow by any chance?
The woman goes under the counter for a second before returning with all the materials in her hand. She places them in a sack and sends Donald back on his way. Donald politely nods and heads out the door. He proceeds to makes his way down the street towards his hotel.
He leans against the front doors, opening them with his own weight, with both hands filled with plastic bags filled with his materials. He walks across the tiled floor upon the elevator in which he pushes in the ivory button to open the doors of the elevator. He steps in and presses his destined location and floor. He leans back and places the bags upon the ground of the elevator as he proceeds to lean against the gold railing behind him and stare upon the ceiling of the elevator.
Donald Deruty: So many different questions fill my head. They ask of my tragic past and what my future will hold. What will I become, and what will I amount to. Many good questions that one may ask himself or herself about their life. Although there is one question that I don't worry about, and that simple question is what I will achieve her in Action Packed Wrestling. With Survive and Conquer just around the corner, and being placed in a match in which I could be placed against the current North American Champion, Logan Alexander, you would think that question would be the first thing upon my mind, yet it is merely ignored.
My future has been shown piece by piece ever since I have arrived upon the scene in Action Packed Wrestling. Yet I am met with one of the biggest challenges I will have to face this week, and of course I speak of the individual that arrogantly calls himself the “Canadian Sensation”. Christian is an excellent competitor, and his history of championships show that from his world championships to his small newcomer championships. The accolades are present, the talent is present, although his mind currently isn't present upon current time and reality.
If last week he couldn't defeat me with the pressure of the hype, what makes him think he can defeat me with the pressure of being timed. Echoing within his head is going to be the ticking of the clock upon the top of the titan tron as our match takes place. Who says that more pressure will make him perform any better in the four sided circle. Christian, you may have management wrapped around you little finger, but you wont be for long. You see Christian, as soon as they see that it will be a repeat of wins for myself week after week, you wont be seen as the rising star that you once was seen as. Week after week I have showed that I have the ability to win every match that management puts in my way, and that is what I am going to do if I have to. Your arrogant mind may say that you are a huge challenge put upon me, but you are really just a small roadblock and this week I will be taking a detour right to Survive and Conquer, when I face Logan Alexander for the North American Championship.
Donald starts to stand straight forward gripping the handles of the bags with his palms. He picks them up off the floor of the elevator and awaits for the doors to slide open. The rhythmic ding sounds as the doors slide open to the left and right of his presence. He walks out into the hallway and proceeds to make his way towards his room.
His shoes are silent upon the carpet of the hallway as he makes his way towards the door that is labeled his respected room's number. He reaches in his blazer pocket and pulls out his card to open his electronically locked hotel room door. He swipes the card, unlocking it and walks in. He places all the materials on the bed before taking his dress shoes off one at a time, untying them from their respected knots.
He takes the leaf, the flag and the Aspirin and puts it in the empty box. Then proceeding to wrap it with the nice white wrapping paper he bought from the store. Folding the corners and tapping the present into one piece. He then finishes with placing a nice red bow upon the top of the box filled with the oddly combined materials. Taking the newly wrapped gift he takes it and grasps it softly in his hands before carefully placing it in his hotel room drawer. After placing it in the drawer he proceeds to lay back with his back on his bed looking at the ceiling. After moments pass he closes his eyes as the room lays silent.
Donald Deruty: I heard about your unfortunate drug problem Christian and how you apparently got offer it and become clean. Well unfortunately for yourself after this week I am simply going to send you back where you came from, and where you belong. Some may think I speak of Canada, but they would be mistaken. Of course I speak of being a man that does nothing but dream of becoming a successful wrestler in a successful business such as Action Packed Wrestling.
Another unfortunate event that fell upon Christian's life was the death of his fiance. Which could possibly be upon his mind, which just adds more assurance for myself. Christian I am truly and sincerely saddened when I hear of someone losing a lost loved one. Unfortunately for yourself the one thing that controls you has started to become the one thing that is destroying you, and that one thing is your confidence. You are filling your brain with all of these different thoughts of how you are going to take Action Packed Wrestling by storm, when you can't even handle the pressure that comes with your statements. You see Christian that gift that I just placed in my drawer is for you after our match this week.
Everything that is in that gift represents what you were, just a Canadian druggie from Miami, until everything went wrong. Dropped out of school to become a wrestler, well this week I am going to make you wish you stayed in school. This week I am going to show your true colors. You are no longer going to be looked at as the “Canadian Sensation” you will just be the man that disappointed millions of people around the world. This week I will have my hand raised in victory, you are a hell of a competitor Christian and I do not take talent like yourself lightly, but I know men just like you. Men of your stature, men that think that they are the best in the world at what they do, and think they can take a federation by storm. Well Christian, while you are nothing but a roadblock to my career, I am much more than that to your career.
This match could be your big break in the company. You could have your very first championship match in Action Packed Wrestling, well I am here to tell you that you will not get that show while I am on the Meltdown roster. Much like I stated earlier Christian, you are nothing but a roadblock to my destination, and my destination is simple and that is to win the North American Championship. A championship that I let slip through my fingers and came just seconds short of breaking that pin. Well Christian, this time it wont be a matter of seconds of how I win, it will be a matter of minutes. I am not going to let that championship slip through my fingers within a matter of seconds this time. I am out to win the North American Championship and unfortunately for you, you are being put in between me and that championship. Christian, I am not here to prove that I am better than you, I did that last week. I am not here to prove that I am one of the best wrestlers on Meltdown, I did that the past two weeks, like I said I would. I am here to win the North American Championship and just maybe if you would have been put against a different competitor you would have had a change of giving myself a challenge against that clock. This week it isn't a match between me and you, Christian, it is a match between me and that clock.
Donald then opens his eyes and opens the drawer. He reaches in and pulls out the gift. He walks down the hallway step by step until he reaches the elevator that takes him back down to the lobby. Donald places the gift on the desk.
Donald Deruty: Please send this to Christian Kane's room please. It is a rush. The clock is ticking Christian, it is only a matter of time, make sure you count the minutes because that is all that you will have left in the spotlight.
The scene goes to darkness as not a thing can be heard.
Donald seems to be carefully walking down the street, wishing upon nothing unfortunately upon himself. One slow step at a time, the progress he makes down the sidewalk is utterly slow and bearable to watch. Although the speed to his body is show, his mind seems to be running one hundred miles an hour.
