Sitting on the ring apron in Edmonton’s currently empty Confederation Arena is one purple haired bitch known as Robina Hood. Two weeks in a row Robina has faced Niobe and both times a steel chair was the deciding factor. Yet Niobe Martin was currently the last thing on Miss Hood’s mind since tomorrow night she gets to face her biggest challenge yet…not in calibre but in size as she starts off the ‘Beat The Clock Challenge’ as she competes against a fellow rookie known as Anthony Washington, a guy who happens to be a clear foot bigger and at least a hundred pounds heavier. So not Robina will have to experience an opponent bigger than her for the first time, as well as fighting against the male for the very first time in her young career, but the purple haired phenomenon must beat such a competitor as quickly as possible if she seeks to challenge the North American Champion at Survive and Conquer. The cameraman appeared on the stage and began to move down the ramp-way before stopping at ringside, so the camera lens was looking directly at the female. The Brit however was looking down upon her lap and after a few seconds of awkward silence the camera operator turned around, thinking that she doesn’t want to be recorded, but before he could make a single step Robina spoke up.
“Can you hear it?”
The camera instantly spun around to see that the forest-dweller was still looking down at her lap but more specifically towards what is in her hands…an old-fashioned pocket watch. After a moment of silence the camera could finally hear the faint ticking of a clock and it was at this moment that Robina moved her head up to look directly at the device recording her.
“Tick-tock tick-tock…the end is nigh. What is it the end of? You’ll all have to wait and find out because, for tomorrow night on Meltdown, I’ll have to compete against some loony that proclaims himself as ‘The Future.’ And for those who have never heard of him don’t worry, I haven’t either, for he is called Anthony Washington…and after I’m done with him he’ll be nothing more than an easily forgotten part of Meltdown’s history. In case you don’t know who I am Anthony, let me introduce myself…my name is Robina Hood and what kind I say about myself? The more pain I can get out of my adversaries the happier I’ll get and unfortunately for you, dear Anthony, I’m going to hurt you so badly that you won’t even be able to walk out of this arena without any form of help. Oh don’t cry Anthony, you call yourself ‘The Future’ so I’m sure you should be able to bounce back from painful humiliation…but how should I hurt you dear Anthony? Should I break your fingers? Dislodge your shoulder? Snap your knee in the wrong direction? Or perhaps you want to have the same treatment as ‘Niobe the Nobody,’ you know…have your elbow almost completely shattered?”
Her physical posture seem to be quite relaxed as the self-proclaimed ‘Iron Maiden’ had her back leaning lightly against the ring ropes and her hands never moved away from her lap as she spoke out her words. The arena is completely empty since eight in the morning it is more than unlikely for any members of the APW crew to have arrived yet, so the eighteen year old literally has the entire arena to herself but so far it is unclear if she plans on doing anything potentially dangerous. Two weeks ago she haunted a cameraman in a forest and just last week she battered an innocent cameraman, so it is more than understandable for this camera operator to feel somewhat relieved at the fact this promo is in a part of the arena where it don’t seem to be dangerous.
“I’m sure you’ll be able to rebound from being humbled in an effortless way and prove your ‘The Future’ moniker right…right? Or perhaps you aren’t truly ‘The Future?’ That would explain a lot about you then Anthony since, even though you’ve only just debuted last week, if I looked for the word ‘impressive’ on an online dictionary a picture of you would be where the antonym is. What did you exactly do last week? Defeat somebody? Who is this somebody? Hell he is probably a nobody and, unless you can actually defeat me, you’re going to end up becoming a never-will-be…kind of like that Niobe girl I’ve nearly ended the career of twice in the same number of weeks. But while I personally prefer seeing you suffer as much pain as possible I do have some good news and some bad news for you. The bad news is that you’re still going to be suffering supreme pain but the good news is that I’ll have to make your beating quite quick since making you scream in anguish is the last thing on my mind at the moment…unlike you know Anthony, which I doubt since only idiots can have their finisher kicked out of in their debuting match, there is a reason behind my goal of debilitating you in a rather quick fashion.”
Robina’s previously peaceful tone of voice has been replaced by a more serious yet slightly cold one as she asked her second or so question. Halfway through her words the Brit stopped leaning against the ropes and leaned forward slightly, inadvertently causing the cameraman to back away slightly. After finishing her potentially venomous words the forest girl’s left hand moved up, revealing to the camera lens that there is a small chain wrapped around it as it pulled the pocket watch up right in between her face and the camera’s lens. Robina chose to let the camera record the appearance of the silver watch before turning to her right. She then unwrapped the chain around her hand and spent little time wrapping it around the top rope, leaving the watch dangling between the top and middle rope, moments before glancing back over towards the camera operator.
“It is because of this right here…a clock. Not only do I need to kick your brain-dead butt but I also need to do so as quickly as possible because, when I win this Beat The Clock Challenge, I’ll face Logan Alexander at Survive and Conquer…and for the sake of Sienna Harrison I’ll not only take the North American Championship from his grubby mitts but I shall also humble him. People might think my association with Sienna is making me look more like an enforcer than a competitor but the truth of the matter is that it is a lot smarter to work with the boss than against the boss, and I’m not afraid of proving my words right against that joke of a Champion. You want to look tough by trying to stop my rise to success? Well newsflash Anthony…the only thing you’re ever going to do on Meltdown is job to the REAL stars, like me, until you’re either drafted to the B-show or the C-show. Got it? So yes then good, if no then you’re just going to be my victim. Don’t take this as a personal insult Anthony for the truth is this: you’re not ‘The Future’ of Meltdown no matter how much you claim to be…because I am ‘The Future of Meltdown.’ What evidence I have? When someone as smart as Sienna praises you then you know that you’re going to go far.”
The promising youth pointed towards the suspended watch, with her right hand, as she started to speak out about the reason behind her target of ‘debilitating’ the equally promising Anthony Washington at a ‘rather quick fashion.’ Even though she didn’t at all thrilled about being the North American Champion, Robina’s voice did sound more motivated when she ever so boldly declare that she would ‘humble’ Logan, a bit overconfident considering she haven’t even taken part in the ‘Beat The Clock Challenge’ yet. Once she finished speaking her words the purple haired dynamo slid off the apron and crouched down, this caused the camera to look down at her and the items by her feet…a quiver of three arrows and a bow. It didn’t take long for Robina to have the quiver over her back and, with the bow in her right hand, she motioned for the cameraman to follow her. So he did follow her all the way to the stage where she stopped and turned to her side…the Brit’s hips perfectly pointing towards the camera, which is now beside her but five steps back.
“But I’m no idiot…you’re a clear foot bigger than me and I’m not even sure if I can pick up somebody a hundred pounds heavier than me. So it’s a matter of insanity for somebody like me to overpower somebody like you…but back in Sherwood Forest you had to adapt to being the weaker person, since only someone as moronic as yourself could possibly try to arm-wrestle a bear. *Giggle* To adapt you not only need brawn but you also need to be quite intelligent and I can say, without a shadow of doubt, that I am mentally superior to you Anthony Washington. You want to be in the spotlight, Anthony? Okay, I’ll give you your three minutes of fame but beware of the aftermath since, once I’m done with you, you’ll fall down a pit of obscurity so deep that nobody, and I mean NOBODY, would even notice if you disappear off the face of the earth. *Giggle* I’ve just realise how amusing it could be…for a false prophet, who calls himself ‘The Future,’ to have faced the origin of a new era and crumble where he stands. You are bigger than me and perhaps you are stronger in strength but when in a battle it is always the smarter tactician that wins, not the toughest one…”
While calmly speaking her words the forest gal’s face was looking directly at the pocket watch as her left hand slowly pulled an arrow out of the quiver and placed the back of it gently against the bow’s string, the arrow neck lightly resting against the bow. Miss Hood looked completely focused but when a couple of giggles left her lips the arrow ended up slipping downwards so the ‘Duchess of Nottingham’ ended up refocusing her arrow’s placement as the female kept her attention divided between the promo and the target. While saying her last ten odd words the young Brit had her eyes closed; once she finished speaking she pulled back the string, took a deep breath and opened her eyes before letting go of the string. The speed of the arrow was unknown but the camera was moved just in time to barely see the arrow go straight through the stop watch.
“You call yourself ‘The Future’ Anthony…well let that shot remind you that tomorrow you are going to be nothing more than my victim…”
Those words sounded cold as the spun back around to see Robina…but she was nowhere to be seen…how!?! He might not know but the cameraman didn’t fully care as he pressed the stop button and switched off the camera before going through the black curtains, most likely to head of towards the production truck where he can deliver the footage he has just recorded.
“Can you hear it?”
