Not Giving Up

[Niobe 'Nightmare' Martin]

The past few weeks have been a rather bumpy and rocky road for the current Meltdown star Niobe 'Nightmare' Martin, more so lately than ever. During her first match with fellow Meltdown star Robina Hood, the woman proceeded to wrench and injure the elbow in that match, picking up the win shortly after. Her elbow was injured further in her second run in with the brutal British woman who continued to go after her in that match. It seems that the young woman is gaining everyone's ire, including the co-owner of Meltdown Sienna who in short words ordered for Niobe's so called 'removal'. But Niobe is proving her worth here, and proving that she belongs with the stars by fighting back against the naysayers, the negativity and the pain by stepping into the ring on this night to take on Young Mannie and Amy Zing in a beat the clock match. With a possibility of touching gold in her future, she is continuing to fight, all the while keeping an eye out for those that would come for her.

Because she's always watching, waiting for that moment of revenge...

The lights were clicked on and adjusted as Niobe was guided into the backstage area where there was a spot set up for interviews and the like. There was an APW banner hanging above her head as she glanced at it and people walking around making sure everything was perfect, the lighting and the camera work was where it should be. She was about to sit down for an interview with Shane West here to discuss what had been happening to her as of lately and where she planned to go from here. Future plans and all of that. It was going to be a short one, at her request. She was feeling a bit restless as of late and kept glancing around, shuffling her feet. She wanted to get up and move. Cautiously Niobe looked down at her taped elbow and slowly flexed her arm out, wincing at the slight bit of pain still lingering.

God damn bitch, she thought. Nearly took out my elbow completely. I'll show her, I'll show them all.

A heavy pair of footsteps could be heard coming down the hallway just behind her, and Niobe had just enough time to look back and stand up as Shane came into her line of sight, extending a hand to shake hers, her better one at the moment. She kept the injured elbow, arm and all close to her body as she sat back down again in the chair. One of the crew members leaned down to put the mic on him, then came over to put one on Niobe, making sure it worked before stepping away, giving the signal they were ready to go when they were.

Shane: This is Shane West with an APW.com exclusive. I'm sitting down here with Meltdown star Niobe 'Nightmare' Martin to talk with her about the recent events that have been happening with her, the injury, and what her future plans are in APW.

Welcome Niobe, good to see you here and somewhat healthy.

"Thanks Shane, it's good to be here despite the elbow and all."

Shane: How are you feeling? The injury to your elbow looked pretty brutal. It was further injured a second time by Robina and the lot of us thought that was it for you, that she had accomplished what she wanted.

"I'm feeling really good. There's a little pain here and there, and it's not completely at 100% but I am looking forward to getting in the ring. I don't want to be stuck at home nursing an injury. I'd rather be out and fighting through the pain. Not gonna let this get me down."

Shane: Looks like Robina failed to completely take you out. She wanted you gone.

"She did. She thought she could not only injury me once, but twice and then think I would be gone. I don't know what she had in mind for that. But surprise surprise, I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere no matter what."

Shane: Any words for her?

"Other than what I've already said? No. But I'll repeat myself for the fans and for her just in case she went deaf and didn't hear me the first time. I'll get my revenge, I will. You won't know when or where but I will have it. You will pay for what you've done. Eventually."

Shane: Let's hope it happens. She deserves what she gets. But besides that, what are your plans as far as your future here?

"Just to keep climbing up the ladder and get drafted to one of the other brands. I want to be the best, I want to have gold. I want to challenge the best that's here, because I want to push myself to the limit and beyond. Prove to people that I'm not just a flash in the pan, a so called 'nobody'. I want to be the best."

Shane: Good to hear. I, along with the rest of the APW universe, wish you look and we look forward to what comes from you in the future. This has been Shane West with an APW.com exclusive interview.

"And we're clear!" The guy with the camera yelled as activity started again. Niobe stood up with Shane, shaking his hand again with a smile as she turned around and started walking back towards the lockerrooms again. Several minutes later, she arrived and pushed the door open, stretching her arms out as she walked over to her duffle bag, pulling out her gear to get ready.

She sat down on the bench and adjusted her pads, along with her taped up elbow, letting out a sigh as she turned on the small flip camera sitting besides her.

"I must have a target on my back as of late. At least that's the way I feel. Robina tried to take me out at the behest of Sienna, twice. But as you can see, she failed and I'm still sitting here ready to go. They can try and knock me down as many times as they want but I'm just going to get back up and fight that much harder.

Tisk tisk, Mannie. I put in the work here that everyone else does. I may not win but I fight just as hard doing it. I was never born to lose, but born to win and continue fighting on. You were just born to take orders from people and not think for yourself. Like last week. What were you promised by her? Fame, fortune, a piece of tail if you helped take me out? Well as you can see... *she raises her right arm and taps her taped elbow* ...everything completely failed. I'm still here, still going strong no matter what. 'The Main Attraction' hmm? That still remains to be seen, because I don't have any clue what you've done to get it. You seem to be more worried about family than you are about your own career. Face the facts, no one wants to support a criminal. You're on your own pal.

And Amy Zing.

You have a point. Like my nickname, this place as of late has turned into a bit of a 'nightmare' for me. I really don't know what I did to anger Sienna to use Robina to come at me. I really don't. But because of it, I got this taped elbow as a so called 'gift' Kind of a crappy gift if you ask me.

I'm a fighter, I do what I have to to make it in this business. If I was any less of a person I would of been out the door after that fiasco last week. But I'm not, I'm a lot better than that. Way better. Everyone will see, including you.

It's nice to know that I had at least one supporter in the back, and for that, I thank you. Makes me feel a little bit safer knowing that a strong fighter such as yourself was in my so called 'corner'. I didn't come out on top, like you said, but I kept on fighting. I'm honored that I've at least earned the respect from you.

But just because I respect what you do in the ring and what good you've done for charities and the like, doesn't mean I'm going to take it easy on you in this Beat the Clock challenge. It's not about the win, but how fast we can do this. I want to push you in there, all the way.

But I find it rather odd that this match is the only one that's a triple threat. I don't get it. So we're in the same boat on that one. The only ones who would know the why about this particular match would be the GM's and I'm not about to go up there and ask why. We'll probably find out at match time.

Despite the challenge of this match and being in the middle of the card, I'm looking forward to this. I hope that your feelings for Young Mannie won't get in the way, I really do.

I'm going into this match full force as I always do. I want this chance to win and go on for a chance to touch gold. I would go so far as to say I want this more than you or Mannie for my own reasons.
