It's hard to say how things were going to be. I knew that being suspended sucked even before the ink on the paper work dried. I knew that sitting at home without pay was only going to raise the anger and desire for Action. What I didn't know is that time goes by slowly when you aren't doing what drives you in life. That the minutes of an hour feel like hours in a year and I sat and watched the clock each and everyday of that 31 days, wanting and craving to do one thing. Compete.
Coming back was exciting. It was like standing next in line at the bathroom for some House party and really needing to go, you just can't wait. The countdown to the return made Jason anxious, it made him antsy and bounce around as he walked like he was some junkie with withdraws and he was. He attended local Wrestling shows, often wanting to jump the guard rail and slam some folks around just to get a taste. He stopped training at first, he was in shape but being in shape to Jason Kash was being able to see inside his own belly button to see if food crumbs have taken up residence. If he could see it, he was in shape.
He found some work though and even hired an Assistant or more like an Errand Boy who use to sell Kash weed. It happened when Kash disappeared for a few days after the suspension and after Shane Borderland cost him the Suicidal Championship. He felt angry, he needed to get away from everyone. Even Kaylyn was someone who got cut off for a few days. Kash stayed in a Homeless Shelter, working for his residence by donating and volunteering to feed the homeless. He enjoyed that, it killed time and that was what he needed. It didn't take long for people to find him and a few did just that. He got back to training, preparing for his return and doing so in New York with Kaylyn James Evans.
Jason Kash: ..I wanted to feel the eyes of 60 thousand plus watching me compete. Knowing that they shout their boos and cheers, whichever they want to give me and knowing that the vibration I could feel in my body was because of them. Losing that left an emptiness inside of me and being alone with my thoughts and NOT having that? I realized I had an addiction for Action. An addiction that I had to fight through the withdraws for, an addiction that burned at the very core of who I am and to relieve that pain? I had to disappear completely...
The Room opens to show Jason Kash sitting in the living room of Kaylyn James Evans Apartment. He's been staying with her the last few weeks, since he came out of hiding. He wouldn't call it hiding but that's what it was. Across from him is a man with glasses on his face, propped up at the tip of his nose as he stares down as a note pad. Writing something down, his "Wrestling News" Magazine badge hands from his shirt pocket.
Male Reporter: So who was it that came and brought you back to the real world?
Jason Kash: That is the real world. Hunger, struggle. That's the realest world I've ever been in. But coming back can be credited to Kaylyn James and A..Actually, nevermind, let's just go with KJE for now. She came and grabbed me by the ear you could say!
Male Reporter: It was reported that Alcohol was involved with the brawl that seen you suspended. What can you tell us about that night in question?
Jason Kash: Well I wasn't drunk, I don't drink EVER so nobody caught me being a lush. It was a whole lot of bullshit, nothing more. Not even important so quit asking about it.
Male Reporter: Alright well, there are a lot of people out there who think it was Borderland who cost you that match. Do you agree with that?
Sitting up, Kash collected his thoughts as he grabs his water bottle and pops the top before taking in a mouthful. Recapping the lid, Kash sets it down and licks at his lips before responding.
Jason Kash: No, you know what? I won't give Borderland that satisfaction. Aubrey Parker did her thing in that match, she got the victory. Nobody can see that differently because the rule goes: "A Champion finds a way to win" and she found a way to win the match. Borderland was just putting himself in a position to get more of what he's already gotten from me.
Male Reporter: And what is that exactly? I mean Borderland is booked for a #1 Contender's Match against Michael Callahan. He is being put right back in position to reclaim his shot for the World Title.
Breaking a smile, Kash sits up to the edge of the couch he's on. His elbows resting on his knees and he looks down at the carpet briefly. Slowly his eyes raise up and look at the reporter.
Jason Kash: What happened last time he was in that position? See he thinks right now he has taken something from me. While I want a rematch with AJP, I no longer have an interest in that Championship. Hell the bitch Bedazzled it and took all forms of Manly from it. I've spent a long time in APW carrying Titles and competing to become a Champion and while I will again one day BE a Champion on Asylum...Right now I have a target that I've plastered on the back of Shane Borderland. What he's "taken" from me is small pennies compared to what is coming to him..
Male Reporter: So you're back! Your first match being a rematch against AJP who had taken the Suicidal Championship from you. You say you no longer want the Belt so what do you gain from this match with her? What drives you going into this?
Jason Kash: What drives me? What isn't right now? My return, putting a remedy to the loss against her, wanting to take one of these "New Class of Talent" that is filling Asylum and showing them that no matter how many times a belt is renamed, bedazzled or thrown into abortion clinics, the History of this show has been written. You cannot remove guys like myself, guys like Rico Casteel or Jimmy Chambers who paved the path to put Asylum on the map it's currently on. So Aubrey J. Parker? She might have most everyone else by the balls but I'm looking to choke her by the Adam's Apple and take her a few pegs down from the high level she thinks she is on. So what drives me? She does for this match, what she represents. She is a great wrestler, personally she is better than Sally already but that doesn't make her top billing. Not just yet...
The rattling of the doorknob grabs their attention. Kash nods at the Reporter and begins to rise off the couch. The door begins to open and Kash stands there with his eyes locked on the door. The Male Reporter sits watching, expecting Kaylyn to come home but not expecting what was standing in the doorway.
Laughter fills the room as Jason Kash falls sideways into the couch. The reporter is staring in confusion at the man in the doorway as he stands there wearing a Bear Coat. Up from the couch, Kash throws both arms high in the air and the man dressed in a bear coat steps inside.
Bear Coat Bro: WHUT UP!! THE MANIMAL IS IN DA HOUSE!!! GRRRRROOOARRR!!!
Looking back at the Male Reporter, Kash points at the man dressed in the bear costume.
Jason Kash: This my boy, Eamon Clayne. He's the assistant I hired! He use to sell me weed...When I "use" to smoke! Dude is CRAZY!! Whats up Clayne?
As Eamon and Kash come in for a slap shake, they come together at the shoulder and chest for a quick "Bro Hug". As the camera view pulls away and things begin to fade, the scene jumps. Kash is now sitting in a bare room with nothing but walls and carpeted floors. He's sitting Indian style in the center of the small room and his eyes are locked into the camera.
Jason Kash: It's really good to be back. Knowing some out there wish I was just released but fuck those people..hah! At least I manned up and took responsibility for what I did wrong, can't say the same about others. That's in the past now though so here I am moving forward. To kick things off I get the same person to defeat me last. AJP! Last time we danced someone interfered. I don't see that happening this time around because now Borderland himself has an important match to deal with on this same card. His focus won't be to attack me again and it shouldn't be. So I can safely say we will get the chance to really see who can beat who. Who on this day is the better man...Or better person with an Adam's Apple! Heh. Listen, I don't want to sit here in my return and make wise cracks, weak jabs at you because you deserve more than that now. Regardless what has been said by others to doubt your reign as Suicidal Champion, you pinned my shoulders to the canvas.
Wiping his mouth with the small amount of regret and distaste still in his mouth from the loss, he wipes that away and continues with what he was saying.
Jason Kash: I'm all alone right now. With KJE being on Meltdown, I literally have nobody watching my back. With all of these new alliances forming from Pillars to Dying Breed. I have more concern with who I throw salt at if you catch to metaphor. Thing is my focus is on three things right now and one of them is winning this match, returning to APW with a victory over you. I will not however use tactics like Logan Alexander or AC Smith used in ACW. Yeah befriending you and then making you their BITCH...I seen it all, I watched it take place and unfold. You were disrespected, made to look like a FOOL by them and now you and Logan couldn't be more friendly!
He took your North American Title and you STILL show him loyalty? You are worse than a dumb blonde Aubrey, you are a gullible bitch! You show others you have a self respect but in truth it's HIDDEN behind make up and name brand clothing. You're no better than a man in drag because you are as fake, as pathetic as they come...Friends? With friends like that, it's you who has to be the one at fault for continuing friendships that over time have FUCKED you more than helped you. Now you're the Tag Champions! Only because Anthony Bailey and Hopkins slacked off like the STONERS they are and fell short, showing that the Tag Division ISN'T stacked but slacked in real companionship, real trust in partners. Once again pathetic!
So I won't try and befriend you Aubrey and I'm sure you don't want my friendship either. You have to keep up with the "Eww I'm a Prissy Bitch" gimmick you put on for everyone else. I can't however deny what you've written in the History of APW thus far for yourself. Your rise is something to witness, there is no doubt about that Aubrey. In truth even KJE should feel some jealousy from what you've been able to accomplish so far and you've really only just begun. Imagine if you and Envi were still together? You'd be the Super Duper Couple of APW but no...You'd not have been able to hang with his talent, you'd have looked midget in comparison. He is to be remembered, you are just filling in where Sally has started to fade. Now I might not have the education that some of you out there have, I might not be the kind of guy who sprays off with big words and deep thought drama but I am a Straight Shooter.
Simple as that. It's something that has not only worked but won in each and every generation of this business. I represent a Common Man. Those who work at McDonalds, those who work in Grocery Stores, those who manage a lowly Best Buy store! You know, people who you and so many others think they are above? They might cheer you but you aren't a good person Aubrey. This business isn't known for nice people, just people that the fans cheer for and those they don't. I won't need their cheers to beat you, I feed off their boos, their cheers, their silence if that's what they want to give me during a match. Being inside that ring again, feeling the ropes against my back and the canvas beneath my feet...THAT is what will drive me to beat you at Asylum. Being back, being on a new path...Wanting to be apart of this company again..That rush? That addiction? It will be fed, it will be taken care of and I will get my fix. It will just be at the expense of you and all you've done up until this point.
It might not have Titles or real meaning behind this match but it might as well because I am fighting this fight with everything I have to offer. You want to prove yourself as someone to beat? Someone to watch this year? Show me that first. Show me that it wasn't Borderland that helped you beat me the first time. SHOW ME...Or you will see nothing but defeat. It's the only thing I'm offering and if you don't show me...you fall to me. Nothing can be more simpler than that! Sorry, I don't have a catchphrase or an ending one liner...I can try I suppose..."WHAT HAVE I DONE!!" No...that really doesn't work...How about "And That As They Say Is That!" Yeah that's--
On the floor next to his is his cell phone and it lights up before it begins ringing. Kash smiles and snatches up the phone, answering it as soon as it touches his skin. To his ear, he rises off the carpeted floor and begins to exit the room.
Jason Kash: Whats up A--
