The Plan Extraction XIV: Havoc Will Ensue
Memoir; A Day to Remember:
I remember. It’s almost as if it happened yesterday, I remember it so clearly. The third slap of a hand on the mat, my arm raised in victory as the former champion lay motionless on the mat below my feet… It wasn’t my first time tasting gold, but it was the first title that cemented my legacy as one of the greats. The man that I had beaten for the belt, he had made it mean something in his time as champion. But just in time for Christmas, good ol’ St. Nick gave me the greatest gift of all. I was now known as the World Heavyweight Champion.
As we fast forward over a year later, I find myself “starting over”. A new brand, a new banner, a new me. So many things have changed. But in a twisted sort of way, everything has stayed the same. I find myself today doing the exact same thing that I was back then, just trying to survive. But now, the landscape has changed. The top really isn’t the top anymore, as the glass ceiling continues to grow higher and higher. We now live in a world where a jobber like Young Mannie can be called a “champion”, and that in itself is cause for deep concern.
It was brought to my attention that Young Mannie and myself aren’t exactly different. As a matter of fact, we’re quite similar at this point in time. While he attempts to “brush off” the dust of previous failures, I continue to claw my way back to prominence. While the world might not understand just yet, I can see the similarities between the two of us just as plain as day. But where we differ, is the fact that I never let my career get to the low depths that Young Mannie allowed himself to get to. Why? Because unlike the “champion”, I actually have self-respect.
The world knows how I feel about Logan Alexander. I’ve never hidden the fact that I resent people like him, and feel like they’re ruining the business that I love so much. But with Young Mannie as North American Champion, I have developed a new found respect and admiration for the longest reigning North American Champion in APW history. Because with the title around the waste of Alexander, I now see that it was held in high regard. But in just one short week as “champion”, Young Mannie has managed to discount all of the hard work that Logan Alexander had previously put in. Now, the title is a joke. Around the waist of Young Mannie, the North American Championship will quickly turn into the laughingstock of Action Packed Wrestling.
I’m not going to buy into this “Main Attraction” gimmick that Young Mannie has come back with. He’s definitely been on a roll since he returned to APW, and very-well could prove me wrong. But I’ve sat back and watched over the years, and time after time, Young Mannie continues to disappoint. It’s what he does best, in all honesty. He’ll come in as hot as a fireball, breezing through the competition on his way to a “spot”. But once he gets to that spot, it’s almost as if he crumbles under all the weight placed on his shoulders. To me, it just proves that he’s not capable of carrying any sort of banner on his back. So what makes Alexander Duvall think that Young Mannie is going to be able to keep Meltdown at peak performance?
This week, I get a chance to write many wrongs. Not only do I get the chance to finally fulfill my promise to the world of professional wrestling after falling short to Logan Alexander on a few occasions, but I also get the chance to fight FOR Logan, as well as the true wrestling fans of APW. I’ll be fighting for Logan, to ensure that Young Mannie and his reign as champion end. That way, Logan can remain proud of all the hard work that he’s managed to put forth in his efforts to make the North American Championship mean something. And I’ll be fighting for true wrestling fans, who are sick and tired of seeing second chances given out like welfare checks. Given to anyone who wants them, but doesn’t want to work for it. Because in my eyes, the “dues” that Young Mannie has paid over the last few months, would never cut the cake in a company owned by the Finnish Phenom!

[The scene opens up as the following words flash across the screen…
“Action Packed Wrestling Presents…
In association with Havey Creations…
Havoc Will Ensue”
We find ourselves outside the Chicago Theatre downtown, where hundred can be seen attempting to pile in not only to get out of the rain, but to see a new rendition of a well-known classic play known as “Death of a Salesmen”. To the side of the building, Tuhoa Valo can be seen, minding his own business. The cameras focus in as he begins to address his audience.]

The Finnish Phenom
Before I begin to share my thoughts and opinions with the world, I have to take a minute and acknowledge the accomplishments of our new APW North American Champion, Young Mannie. Because you see, it’s not every day that a young man brought up from obscurity, becomes a champion. Therefore, Young Mannie, you have my utmost congratulatory regards. From obscurity to championships, but not in the way that most people would think. Because somehow, you’ve managed to weasel your way into the title picture. When most promoters would have blackballed you after your second or third time disappointing their company… For some reason, Jeff continues to bring you back.
Who knows, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe this time, you actually have made it your life’s ambition erase the poor name that you’ve given to yourself over the years. But then again, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe if it were Overdrive or Asylum, a place where the more experienced dogs run the yard… Maybe you would have fallen flat on your face yet again, and ran home with your tail tucked between your legs…
…yet again.
If I had it my way, you’d still be jerking the curtain, making up for your past failures. In my eyes, you haven’t eaten near enough shit yet, and if I were in charge, you would without a doubt be opening my shows on a nightly basis. But I’m not in charge, and my opinion is just that… The opinion of one man. So what do I do? I sit back, wait my turn, and do my best to change what is, to protect what was. But I’m not the only one gunning for you, Mannie. There are others, others which you will undoubtedly see Monday night.
…much like myself.
Don’t think for a single second that I’ve forgotten about you, Christian Kane. I understand that I have to go through you to get to the champion, and I’m alright with that. Last week, I was told that whoever got the pinfall, would face the champion the next week in the main event, while the man who didn’t would open the show against the champion. That’s what I was looking towards, and I accomplished my goal. But Duvall sees fit to stack the odds against me, and in the favor of his golden boy, Christian Kane. I stand here talking about second chances just being handed out, and it’s clear to me that Alexander Duvall is looking out for you. Face it, you failed. I got the pinfall, and the only reason you’re in this match, is because Duvall would hate to see me succeed in winning the title. Thus, he goes back on his word, and like the coward that he is, justifies it by saying that it’s “in the best interest of all involved”.
[Valo scoffs.]
The Finnish Phenom
What a crock of shit! You couldn’t get the job done, so Duvall is giving you yet another chance to try and do it! Don’t get me wrong, I think that you’re an excellent competitor. You’ve done a lot in your short time here, but I proved last week that Tuhoa Valo is far superior to the pretty boy that Duvall holds so near and dear to his heart! But to hell with talent and superiority! I mean after all, this is business! This is about making money, this is about ratings!
WRONG!
This is professional wrestling! This is a place where only the best of the best survive! And kid, you’re nowhere near the best, not just yet anyways! One day, you might get there. But right now, you’re looking at the best! When it comes to the Meltdown roster, or even Action Packed Wrestling as a whole… The Finnish Phenom is the best professional wrestler to ever take a bump in an APW ring! And right now you may not know it, but someday you will. Christian Kane, by Tuhoa Valo beating you, by me going on to win the APW North American Championship, I WILL be doing you a favor. You might not understand right now, but eventually the bigger picture will become crystal clear. By me winning the title, it will benefit you in many more ways than one.
As of right now, you stand in my way of facing either Amy Zing or Young Mannie for that title. I understand that you’re just as hungry as I am, Christian. I get it, you’re ready to become a champion. I mean, if you’re not here to win the title, then you shouldn’t be here in the first place. But the problem lies in desperation, Kane. Right now, I need that title way more than you do. For everything to come to fruition, Tuhoa Valo has no choice but to beat you, and go on to become the APW North American Champion on Monday night! I have no other choice, and there’s no way around it. By winning that title, it gives me the fuel that I need for the fire to burn! It gives me the ammunition I need to fire right at the forehead of APW Management! I NEED THAT TITLE, KANE! And I’ll be god damned if I’m going to allow you to detour me from getting my hands on that belt! There’s a pecking order around here, Kane! A pecking order that I’m all too familiar with. Right now, you’re right smack dab in the middle of that pecking order, trying to cut your way to the top of the line.
That’s not the way it works, Christian. I could care less how close you are to the boss, I really could. But there’s a time honored tradition that ensures that the best of the best will get the first shot. Right now, both Duvall and yourself are slapping tradition right in the face. Well, I’m not going to stand for it. And the easiest way to restore tradition is by putting you in your place, and beating you senseless in the middle of the ring. And while I’ll go on to become the APW North American Champion, you’ll fail miserably, making Alexander Duvall rethink his decision of putting his neck on the line for you in the first place! And at that point, maybe you’ll fall back in line. Maybe you’ll be able to pick yourself back up, pay a few more dues, sharpen your skills, and maybe next time around you’ll be ready. But the time for Christian Kane to become champion isn’t now. Your time is nowhere near the here and now. Right now, it’s MY TIME! Regardless of what Young Mannie has to say, it’s Tuhoa Valo’s time!
With my victory, you’ll win as well. Not because I’ll go on to end the reign of Young Mannie. We both know that it could very-well be Amy Zing I’m facing in the main event. But your victory will come shortly thereafter, when Tuhoa Valo drops his bombshell on the world, leaving APW as a whole in shambles! In this business, the impact that you make will speak volumes for your entire career! And believe me Christian, I’m about to make one hell of an impact in APW. As if I haven’t already, I’ve got something in store for this organization that will cement my legacy as the absolute greatest mastermind in professional wrestling history!
It’s like I told you already, you’ve got a long time to go in this company. You’ve just started your climb to the top, and I’m very excited to see how far you’re going to go in APW. You’re an excellent competitor with a tremendous fighting spirit. I admire you, as well as your talents. But right now, you’re stepping into the ring with a desperate man. And desperate men, they do things that they normally wouldn’t think of doing. Things that cause people to look at them differently. Evil things, the likes of which could tarnish an image for eternity. But I’m fine with all of that. I’m fine with playing the part of a desperate man, because that North American Championship means everything to me right now! Now, I’m sure the title means a great deal to you as well. But stepping into the ring with Tuhoa Valo, you’re going to soon realize that no matter what you do, no matter what you say, and no matter who will be defending the belt in the main event… Tuhoa Valo WILL NOT be stopped!
I’ll do anything and everything that I have to do, to get to that championship. If I have to drag you into the streets of Chicago, push you in front of on-coming traffic, watch you get crushed by an eighteen wheeler, and THEN get the pin… That’s what I’ll do. If I have to drag you into the kitchen, stick your head in a deepfryer, eternally cripple and deform you beyond belief, and THEN get the pin… That’s what I’ll do. And if I have to carry you into Alexander Duvall’s office, bash your brains in until Duvall throws in the towel on your behalf… Then that’s what I’ll do. You see, it’s simple… There’s nothing you can do that’s going to stop me. Because as a desperate man, as a man who is running out of time, and as a man who needs that title… You’re going to have to kill me, to stop me.
Nevertheless, with plenty of time left for you to reach the North American Championship, I’m not going to feel a damn bit of shame or guilt about leaving you in my dust. Because after I’m done with you, I must focus on the champion. Whether it ends up being the current champion, Young Mannie. Or whether it ends up being Amy Zing, neither of them have a single idea of what they’re in for, much like yourself.
[Valo takes a deep breathe, gathering his thoughts momentarily.]
The Finnish Phenom
Young Mannie, Amy Zing… It really doesn’t matter which one of you I end up facing at the end of the night. I told you earlier, Mannie… I’m happy for you. You’ve reached your first singles title in your professional wrestling career. I didn’t know that it was possible to fail your way to the top of the mountain, until I saw you win that title last week. Let’s face it, you’ve failed more times than Snoop Dogg with a drug test. Yet somehow, you’re our current North American Champion. Sure, you’ve proven that you’re on the fast track to redemption, with all the hard work you’ve put in over the last few months. But the truth is that your track record doesn’t lie. You’ve done this before, a few times actually. You leave mad, you resign and come back on a roll, only to fall off and leave once again. The APW fanbase doesn’t deserve a failure for a champion. Furthermore, that championship doesn’t deserve a to be looked at as a joke! So if Amy Zing doesn’t get the job done, you can bet your ass that Tuhoa Valo will!
[This causes Valo to chuckle, thinking about Amy Zing as the North American Champion.]
The Finnish Phenom
Amy Zing… We’ve been down this road before. Let’s say that you’re able to get past the champion. For a second, let’s pretend that you’re able to beat Young Mannie and go on later that night to face the Finnish Phenom.
…then what?
Worse than a one week reign for Young Mannie, would be a one hour reign for Amy Zing. I have to admit, since I beat you senseless, you’ve really battled your way back. You’ve made yourself a focalpoint in the North American Championship picture once again, but there’ll be no change of pace when it comes to the chapter entitled Amy Zing verses Tuhoa Valo! Because if and when we step into the ring one on one for a second time, I will yet again show my dominance, and I will yet again beat you within an inch of your life!
It’s simple, and this I’m saying to all of Action Packed Wrestling. From the amateurs backstage, to the front office pencil pushers. To all the marks, and all the fans who think they know it all… That North American Championship, it’s mine. And soon thereafter, havoc will ensue.
[Valo begins an evil chuckle…]
The Finnish Phenom
I assure you all… Havoc will ensue.
