Cameras fade in on Marvin Peabody, Cid Phoenix's personal accountant, as he walks into Cid Phoenix's hotel room.
PEABODY: Cid? You in here, buddy? I just got back from the lawyer's office!
There is no sound except that of Amy Zing's voice, as Cid Phoenix watches her promo silently in another room. Peabody peeks his head inside briefly, then makes a shushing motion with his finger to the camera, as he waves him outside of the room. Once outside, Peabody looks to his left and right cautiously, as he begins to speak..
PEABODY: Okay, APW fans! This is Melvin Peabody - Cid Phoenix's private attorney and I've got some updates for you as to what happened on last week's Meltdown. After the incident involving the young fan and his father, my client was in fact arrested and subsequently missed an appearance at a House Show. A fine was eventually paid for my client's bail and he was released, whereupon he remained in seclusion. However, the incident will go to trial, as the boy and his father have sought legal action against both my client and the APW for the assault. Cid Phoenix has been working out in private, gearing up for his match against Amy Zing on this week's Meltdown. That is all the information that I have for you at this time, and I am not at liberty to discuss the amount of the fine, my client's bail bond, or what prompted this incident, as it will all be discussed at trial. Now, with that being said, let's check up on the man of the hour, shall we?
Peabody opens the door, and waves the cameraman in.
PEABODY: Okay.. What has he been doing?
CAMERAMAN: Watching Amy Zing's promo, over and over again. It's kinda creepy actually, like he's obsessed with her or something.
PEABODY (chuckles nervously): I'm sure he has his reasons - wrestling psychology and all, you know..
The cameraman doesn't respond, as Peabody ever so cautiously, walks into the other room. Seated in the other room, silently watching the end of Amy Zing's promo, is Cid Phoenix.
PEABODY: Cid, buddy.. You have a moment?
Phoenix hold up a hand, telling Peabody to wait, as he watches Amy's promo, almost transfixed. Peabody turns to the camera, again chuckling nervously.
PEABODY (whispering): He's pretty focused on his opponent this week. The promo's almost over, in which case, we'll get a few words from my client on this week's match. He's been advised NOT to talk about last week's incident, at all, seeing as anything he says may damage his own testimony. Sit tight folks, he's just finishing up..
At the end of Amy's promo, Phoenix grabs the remote and clicks off the television. He sighs loudly, and gets up to grab his black leather duster coat.
PEABODY: Hey, Cid.. The APW Universe AND the Meltdown locker room is pumped up about seeing you in action against one of it's finest stars in "The Hong Kong Sensation" Amy Zing. Now, I have been informed that you have been watching her promo quite consistently for several hours. Uhm, any thoughts on how you'll go into this match against the young superstar?
Phoenix looks at him.
PHOENIX: Hey, Peabody.. You're quite good at this interview stuff. I think you missed your calling, broheim!
Peabody chuckles.
PEABODY: Not for me, really. There's more money in law. I'm just filling in for the ordinary interviewer, who couldn't make it because he hit a moose.
Phoenix raises his eyebrows and tilts his head and silently looks at Peabody. Peabody realizes Phoenix's quizzical look and speaks.
PEABODY: I'm very serious. He actually hit a moose that was crossing the road as he was driving. He's fine, but his car's totalled and he can't get here in time.
CID: Wow.. Only in Canada, eh?
PEABODY: Actually, there are places in the U.S. where this sort of thing happens all the time, with deer or even moose. But getting back down to business at hand, what can you tell the APW Universe about Amy Zing's promo and what effect her words might have on your confidence going into this match? Is it a challenging hindrance, or is it something that fires you up going into Meltdown this week?
PHOENIX: Her words were quite inspiring. She said all the right things to get me fired up. I'd forgotten what it was like to to want to go out and wrestle, just wrestle. Not head out to the ring holding a grudge, but to go out and show pure technical prowess and actually wrestle a scientific match. Amy Zing has shown honor in her promo and even pays me great homage, I'm humbled by her words. Excuse me, a moment..
Cid reaches over and grabs a water bottle, taking a swig from it.
CID: Mmmm, gotta love Canadian water! However, I intend on taking this young lady to school. For every attack she can muster, I'll be prepared and waiting with a counter. Her true test in this match comes if she can stay alive long enough to avoid my Scorpion Lock. Because when, not if - when I lock that hold on her and she feels her legs and back being stretched and bent to their breaking point, she will know what it is like to truly face me. But if there is one thing that Amy has shown me in her past matches, it's that she's a tough gal who's hard to crack. I'm looking forward to putting on one helluva match and will look forward to giving her the best match of her career thus far..
PEABODY: I don't get your mood.. You're usually quite enraged and frustrated. Why aren't you all fire and brimstone, anger and mayhem?

CID: Because now more than ever, Melvin, I'm focused. I'm focused on a goal and I'm focused on going out there and giving it my all and showing the entire lockerroom, young and veteran talent - that Cid Phoenix lives again. And that is a fact that you, the Meltdown lockerrom and especially Amy Zing can take to the bank.
Phoenix smiles and pats Peabody on the back, as he walks past him down the hall and out the exit doors. Peabody watches him as he walks off, and the chuckles as he turns towards the camera.
PEABODY: Well, there you have it folks! Cid Phoenix vows to make his match against the incomparable Amy Zing a most memorable one! Just which of these two competitors will have their hand raised in victory? Time will tell, but if one thing is certain, both go into this match with 110%!
