The scene opens up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on the set of Degrassi.
We can now see “The Main Attraction” Young Mannie sitting beside the actress Melinda Shankar who plays “Alli Bhandari” on the show. The two seem to be having a good time sharing a few laughs as they are carrying away with laughter, a producer let’s them know it’s almost time for Mannie’s TeenNick exclusive interview. Mannie and Melinda both nod as they try to gain their composure as the cameras start rolling.
“Hello everybody, I want to welcome you all to the TeenNick.com Talk Session. Today my guest is none other than the APW Megastar “The Main Attraction” Young Mannie. So let’s give him a round of applause everybody.”
Melinda and some of the interns in the background unseen are heard clapping as well
“So let’s begin shall we…Are you ready Mannie?”
“As ready as I ever will be.”
“Okay…So Mannie from what I was told, this was your first time acting on television right?”
“Yes that’s right, it was my first time.”
“Okay so if you could explain to everyone, how was the overall experience?”
“I mean where can I start, it was absolutely terrific. I loved it! You know what I mean, when you get that awesome feeling from arriving on set and being able to portray that character.”
“Yes I do know what you mean, it’s a rush doing something so interesting. So I know you know what I mean by that right? I mean you’re always on tour performing.”
“Well I can relate to that, It’s a good feeling when you do something you love and when you’re able to have such freedom to be creative.”
“Exactly…So Mannie after having this experience do you plan to more acting in the future?”
“Of course, I would love too and it’s something I can see myself making the full transaction too probably after I retire one day. Who knows? Maybe sooner.”
“Well I can honestly say you’re really good, it didn’t seem like it was your first time. I really enjoyed your presence on screen. So that brings me my next question. How did you prep for this?”
“Well let me first say thank you. Well I had hired an acting coach and I took some notes from you as well.”
“You’re too much, so besides wrestling and acting now…What other talents are hiding?”
“Well it’s not the biggest secret but I am also a recording artist.”
“Are you serious? I didn’t know that, well if it’s anything like your acting and wrestling then it must be good.”
“Well that’s very generous of you, but thanks.”
“So what type of music genre or genres do you do?”
“Well I like to just do whatever feels right, I mostly do rap but I don’t really like boxing myself or my music.”
“I can feel that Mannie…”
Just before Melinda can finish up the interview she gets a cue to start wrapping it up
“Oh no…It’s almost time to finish, I would’ve loved to get more time with you but maybe later on.”
Mannie and Melinda share a certain look as she bites her lip asking the final question
“So with the time winding down any last words?”
“Yes I would like to say thank you, everyone at Degrassi for making my experience a life-long memory, and to APW for the given opportunity.
“Well there you have it…”
“Before they finish cleaning the area Melinda I have one last thing to say. So if you don’t mind I bought my own camera, just so you think I could have the studio for a little while longer?
“Ummm sure of course Mannie, hey guys let’s just take a break.”
So if my opponent Warren Peace is watching right now I want you to know something.”
Mannie looks directly into his personal HD camera as it zooms in for a close up, Mannie reaches down beside him inside a gym bag and he pulls out the North American Championship.
“Now I know what you’re thinking…Why would I be hiding the NA championship?”
“Well let me stop you right there Peace. I wasn’t hiding it but if you knew anything about anything outside of APW, then you would know there’s a proper place and time to promote. I didn’t feel the need to showboat my championship during this interview to boost my own ego, See I don’t need too at all because I’m already the champ.”
“See when you’re the champ certain things come with the new found responsibility, some of the things are press work and media. Now as you can see I’m no stranger to the media or the camera, it’s something that comes natural for me. Meanwhile people like you have no business in front of a camera or let alone behind one.”
“Because at the end of the day, it’s pure common sense, People like Warren Peace are not built for this lifestyle of being a champion...”
“See Champions like me set the standards and examples for people like you who want to be us, That’s right your heard me correctly. I said Warren Peace wants to be “The Main Attraction” and feel free to argue that its B.S. but it’s the truth because if it wasn’t he wouldn’t want this championship so bad along with the rest of the Meltdown roster.”
“I can tell you straight up, I know I have a target on me and I love it. I don’t care what the odds are, I just want them to be there, because everyone knows “Scared Money, Don’t Make No Money!”
“If I lost you with the line, well allow me to explain. See whenever you try to hesitate and play things safe, the same result will always happen. The result being, that you solve absolutely nothing.”
“Champions like me Peace get things done despite the biggest obstacles and challenges, why because champions like me are built for this period. We aren’t worried about trying to achieve and claim the forgotten year of 2011 hype like you, or trying to beat someone they know deep down they can’t! No see what champions like me do, we push through adversity because it makes us who we are. We both know the truth don’t we Peace?”
“Being a champion is who I am, and being a loser is what you are!”
“If were going to call it straight then let’s do it, you are a loser. Nothing you have done in APW matters, Nothing at all! All you have done is won an award from 2011 that means squat now. Nothing about Warren Peace in 2013 is relevant! You’re just a sad case of a failed prospect who crumbled under his own hype machine. Warren I beg you, please stop living in 2011 and allow me to knock your ass back into 2013 with the rest of us.”
“You don’t appeal to what APW needs, you’re not the best that APW has to offer. You have nothing to offer to the viewers outside of APW but wrestling skill and that’s sub par at best. You’re mediocre on the microphone, when you talk people press their mute button and log onto their social medias during your matches. Luckily for you get a match with the champ who “The Main Attraction”. So kudos on that Peace, but really do you realize what you have gotten yourself into?”
“Honestly Warren are you ready to be a champion? In all self-reflection I know you know your not. I know all you want is to keep riding the fence and staying above water, and how do I know this?”
“Well let’s review things shall we Warren…1st you couldn’t get the job done against Robina Hood, 2nd I laid you just like that before the match even started and I didn’t even lay a finger on you to do so. Now what makes you think in your delusional mind that your anywhere near my league?”
“Don’t you know how dangerous I am just by myself in that ring? You think I call myself “APW’s Resident Workhorse” for my own health?”
“You must be out of your mind Warren! I am one of the best in APW and this belt proves it. I have not lost one match since returning to Meltdown, and you can be sure I don’t plan on losing to “APW’s 2011 Rising Star”. You are a nobody who has gotten way over your head, but at least you’re not Amy Zing.”
“Now Amy Zing on the other hand is a cancer of APW that just won’t go into remission like it’s supposed too. You are the vein of my existence Amy and you know that, I hate you so much maybe just as much I hate Jason Kash. Hell maybe you two should start a alliance, but figuring your luck Amy…You’ll find a way to mess that up like you did your career and title shots.”
“Amy Zing nobody wants you here, nobody wants you back in APW. Why don’t you go back to Hong Kong, go star in some dollar store direct DVD feature films, and finally get the hell out of my life.”
“As for Nathanial Havok or should I say The Finnish Phenom, who are you anymore?”
“Do you even know? I don’t think you do because if you did, you wouldn’t parade as some pale face jackass who accent was as believable as Mel Gibon’s. You have lost all sense of reality and maybe all of your mind, but it was too be expected I mean look at APW it’s full of nut-jobs who have wrestling licenses. It seems like I’m the only one who thinks you be North American champion is you, and around here that doesn’t count for much. I mean damn Havok how many chances can one guy get?”
“You can’t win the big one and it’s as clear as day that you will never be champion.”
“Havok is worthless, Amy is worthless, and finally Peace you a nobody who will know his worth soon enough.”
The scene fades as Mannie raises The North American Champion above his head allowing a close to be featured on before leaving the area
