::Outside the RogersCenter in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a stage has been set up. On the stage is a podium with the APW logo. A banner with the APW logo lines the bottom of the stage. Behind the podium is a large curtain with the emblem of Rasslemania IX.::
::In front of the stage are several chairs, filled with local journalists from the local and national newspapers, radio, television, and the Internet. Cameramen line the sides. Barricades have been set up so fans can watch, but not crowd the area. Everyone is dressed for the cold of mid-March in Canada. Hats, scarves, gloves and mittens can be seen on the gathered reporters, camera people, the fans and security personnel, as well on those gathered to speak.::
::Several members of the city, such as the mayor, have spoken about what Rasslemania means for the local economy. Members of the APW’s management have spoken about what coming to the city means for the APW and the city’s wrestling history.::
::Shane West steps up to the podium after the last speaker. He adjusts the black tie he is wearing with his dark blue shirt. He has serves as the moderator of this event, introducing the various speakers. He places his hands on the podium, leaning towards the microphone.::
West: “Ladies and gentlemen, our next speaker is one of seven wrestlers who will be competing at Rasslemania in a Ladder match for the APW North American Championship!”
::There is a burst of cheers from the gathered fans in attendance.::
West: “She is “the Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing!”
::Cameras flash and tape rolls as Amy Zing walks out from behind the curtain and onto the stage. Dressed in a pair of black pants, black short heeled shoes, a white blouse, a black leather jacket and dark brown leather gloves, Amy approaches the podium. West applauds and steps back as Amy stands at the podium. She looks over the gathered fans. Cameras flash as Amy stands at the podium.::
Amy: “Thank you all for coming.”
“AMY ZING! AMY ZING! AMY ZING!”
“Thank you. Thank you.”
::She waves to the gathered fans on the other side of the barricade. The crowd cheers. She waits for them to die down before speaking.::
“I think it is safe to say that the Monday Night Meltdown Invitational Royal Rumble a few days ago did not go as well as I had hoped it would.”
::Glancing over the crowd, the Chinese-born San Francisco native known as the “the Hong Kong Sensation” smiles a bit and shrugs.::
“Oh well. This is a new day however. This is Rasslemania!”
::There is a loud cheer from the fans who have gathered for the event at the mention of the pay-per-view’s name.::
“Rasslemania, the one night where every single person who steps into the ring does so knowing full well that win, lose or draw, they are bound for glory. It is, without a doubt, the single biggest night of the year in the APW. We can go out to the ring any night and shine like stars. Rasslemania is the night when we shine bigger and brighter than we do all year and if for only one night, I plan on doing just that.”
::She pauses for a moment.::
“And I have every intention of shinning as bright as I can. Rasslemania is the biggest night of the year, where stars can become legends and legends become immortal. I have a chance to walk out on the grandest stage Action Packed Wrestling has to offer, the biggest show of the year, and become the APW North American Champion. Now that may only about a fourteen percent chance, but it is still a chance. It is still enough of a chance for me to take a shot at greatness.”
::Amy takes a deep breath and exhales slowly. She looks out towards the gathered fans in attendance as the cameras flash and her words are recorded by the various reporters.::
“It’s no secret that in the entire time I’ve been in wrestling I have yet to win a championship. Many times I have tried to become a champion and each time has ended with disappointment. But Rasslemania is one more chance and I know my moment is coming. I know that one day I will raise a championship high over my head. I know that at that moment all the blood, sweat and tears will have been absolutely worth it. It is coming.”
::A sudden burst of cheering causes “the Hong Kong Sensation” to pause. She points out to the fans as she looks at the reporters. This action does nothing to silence the crowd behind the barricades.::
“What’s more important is that they know it as well. When my moment comes, it will also belong to each and every single person who has supported me. All my friends, all my family and every one of the fans who have been behind me since day one will be sharing in that moment when I finally become a champion. When I finaaly become a champion, you will be there with me.”
::She lowers her hand, placing it back on the podium.::
“Unfortunately, there are six other Monday Night Meltdown megastars who all want their Rasslemania moment. Six other stars who all want to become legends, who want to be immortal. Each one of us wants to be the person to climb the ladder and win the North American Championship. Each of us knows only one of us is going to be able to get up that ladder and win.”
“Warren Peace, Nathaniel Havok, The Guv’Nor, Robina Hood, Niobe “Nightmare” Martin, Cid Phoenix, Evan McDonald and I, we all want to win this match. We all want our Rasslemania moment.”
“I mean I can imagine Warren Peace would like to retain the North American Championship. The man climbed a proverbial ladder through so many obstacles to become the current North American Champion. He took that first step to getting out of his father’s shadow, to forging his own legacy. That is something you have to respect. Even if you do not like him, you should still respect that.”
::The crowd cheers at the name of the newly crowned APW North American Champion, Warren Peace.::
“Warren, you and I have faced each other before. While I won, it was a very close match. You did what I was not able to and beat Young Mannie to become North American Champion. I now have a shot to win what I could not win before and I will take it.”
“Believe me, I would love to congratulate you on your win and wish you a long and successful championship reign. I would like to, but I am a little ashamed to admit that I cannot do it. While I can congratulate you, I cannot wish you a long title reign. I have every intention of doing my best to become the new North American Champion."
“Guv’Nor, these last few weeks, you have proven to be one of the toughest newcomers Monday Night Meltdown has seen in a while. You have that bare knuckle, London brawler style that makes you a dangerous opponent. But it is your mindset, your mentality, which makes you really dangerous. That brawling style with a lack of remorse is never a great combination in an opponent.”
“Guv’Nor, you are the kind of guy that can thrive in an environment like this. There really are no rules other than be the first up the ladder and grab the prize at the top to win. It’s easier said than done, especially with six other people trying to do the same thing. You are young and you are hungry, but so I am.”
“I can imagine you are hungry too Evan McDonald.”
::There is a chorus of jeers from the crowd at the mention of the name of “the Scottish Sensation”.::
“You go on and on about how great you are. You talk about how amazing you are, how everyone should be in awe of you. You talk and talk. Personally, I don’t particularly care for you Evan. I never really have. You have skill, but every time you open your mouth, I want to hit you.”
“You can talk all you want. But sooner or later, all that talk has to be backed up. Sooner or later, you need an action to prove your words have strength. Both you and I need to prove the hype that surrounds us. Winning the North American Championship at the biggest even of the year would definitely prove we are more than just hype.”
“You also need to prove the hype, Robina Hood.”
::The crowd behind the barricade jeers and boos the name of “the New Perfect” from Sherwood Forest. Amy brushes a strand of hair out of her face.::
“Sienna Harrison looked at you and took you under her wing. She decided to make you her hand-picked champion, her chosen one. And since then, you have carried out her every order without fail.”
::Amy tries to fight it, but she cannot help but smile.::
“You carried out very single order without fail, until last week that is. Last week you failed to beat me and she ended up in the ring with my and I kicked her head off. You failed her.”
“In a way Robina, you are I are both seeking redemption. You are trying to prove New General Manager Sienna Harrison that you are indeed the “New Perfect”, and prove she was right about you, especially after what happened last week with our match and the aftermath. I, on the other hand, want what Sienna Harrison does not want to see me hold, what I should have won almost a month ago. I went through you once to get what I wanted; I can do it again your sell out.”
“And I think Cid Phoenix wants a level of redemption as well.”
::There is a cheer for the legendary Cid Phoenix from the crowd. Cameras record Amy’s image, while the various recording devices the reporters hold capture her words.::
“Cid, I have said it before and I will say it again. I respect you. I respect what you have accomplished in this business and I respect you as a competitor. Wrestling you was a huge thrill for me, and I am looking forward to getting back into the ring with you.”
“I know you want to win that North American Championship and turn all your recent bad luck around. You want to silence the critics that even still, after all you have done, will not stop saying your time is over or other such things. I as well want to silence my critics. I want to prove once and for all that I belong here, in this business and in the APW. To do that, I have to win the North American Championship.”
“Cid, I am not going to stand here and say your time is over and mine is beginning. I won’t say it, because I have no way of knowing if it is true. But you have had your moments. You have had your career. I am standing on the edge. I can either plunge or rise. I chose to rise. I chose to step into the ring at Rasslemania and do everything I can to win this ladder match.”
::Amy pauses, as if a thought just occurred to her.::
“Of course I win, I get the added bonus of pissing off Sienna Harrison. That also holds true with you, Niobe Martin.”
::Amy smiles a bit, as if amused by her own words. The crowd cheers for the woman who calls herself “Nightmare”.::
“We’re sort of in the same boat really, are we not Niobe. Neither of us knows what we did to so anger Harrison, but whatever it was, we did it well. I know I shouldn’t, but I cannot help take a little pride in knowing I most certainly earned her distain last week when I kicked her head off. I can just imagine how pissed off she’ll be if you or I win Niobe. We’ll probably be able to hear her screaming over the cheers of the crowd if either of us wins.”
“Right now, you are I share the same dream. We both want to be North American Champion. Yours may also involve a lot of violence to Robina Hood, but that’s between the two of you. I got my shots in already. I will get a few more, but my issues with Robina are settled.”
“I like you Niobe. I respect you. I could see us being friends. However, I made that offer before. I doubt us hitting each other with ladders trying to win a title will somehow be bonding. So, you and I will go to the ring and try to beat the hell out of each other to try and make the dream of a Rasslemania moment.”
::Looking over the crowd, Amy rubs her lips together, trying to moisten them. She exhales deeply, almost like a sigh, but not quite.”
“Then there is a complete wildcard; the guy looking for redemption and to prove the hype and who would just love to piss off people in APW management. That man is Nathaniel Havok.”
::There is a large heel pop from the man formerly known as “the Finnish Phenom” Tuhoa Valo.::
“In The Art of War, Sun Tzu wrote that “all warfare is based on deception”. Nathaniel Havok, you definitely managed to prove that was true. For months you hid behind the mask and the name Tuhoa Valo. You conned Alexander Duvall and Sienna Harrison into a new contract and then revealed your real identity.”
“To be honest, in the long history of “master plans” people have seen in wrestling, this one was really simple and really well done. It was almost perfect. The only thing that would have made it perfect, by your own admission, would have been if you won the North American Championship as Tuhoa Valo, and then unmasked. Now you have another shot.”
“Last year at Rasslemania, things did not go your way did the Nathaniel? It was probably the biggest defeat of your career. Now you have the chance at redemption, the chance to prove you’re as good as you say you are and you know that winning would just really annoy APW management after last year.”
“You want the big win at the same event as your big loss. I, however, want the win. I am tired of coming up short time and time again. I know, deep down, that I can win the North American Championship. At Rasslemania I want my moment.”
::“The Hong Kong Sensation” has a determined look in her eyes. Her voice sounds rather serious as she looks over the gathered people in front of her.::
“On the biggest stage, in front of a sold out crowd of thousands right here in the in Ontario, Canada, and millions watching on pay-per-view, I am going to show the entire world why I am simply Amy Zing!”
::The crowd explodes into cheers as Amy steps away from the podium and bends over, touching her toes. She slowly raises up her hands, touching them together, her index fingers pointing out. She spreads her hands outward to her sides. The cameras flash and record Amy’s signature pose. She turns and walks off the podium.::
::Shane West walks back to the podium.::
West: “Ladies and gentlemen, “the Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing!”
::The scene fades out as West keeps the event going.::
::In front of the stage are several chairs, filled with local journalists from the local and national newspapers, radio, television, and the Internet. Cameramen line the sides.
