I am such a huge fan of the genre it would be easier to say which ones I dislike. I have actually even filmed one. I am not sure if I ever spoke to anyone about it but a few of us had actually been making movies and web shows for a few years. We weren't much more than fans with a camera. My friends did go to school for editing and such..
Anyway, the first movies I remember as a kid are the A Nightmere on Elm Street movies. four was always my favorite and is to this day.
The sleepaway camp franchise is a favorite of mine right up there with Nightmare, Friday, and halloween.
More recently there was an indy horror film called The House of the Devil. If you guys havent watched you need to check it out. It was amazing to see a classic horror film made with todays production values without going over the top like the studios tend to do with their ocuntless remakes of the Grudge and the Ring. By that I mean over done gray special effect ghouls.
