"SAO PAULO POST" -- MAY 6TH 2013
Associated Press -- Early this morning, APW’s Asylum star and member of the stable group “The Dying Breed”, Jair Hopkins was rushed to the local hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
At 5:35 this morning, Jair’s newly hired agent, Shawn Rosenthal had knocked on his clients hotel room door. After five tries, there was no response. Ross got the spare key card to enter his clients room. Entering it, he noticed Jair’s body was stretched out across the bed, the bed was a mess, sheets thrown, pillows across the room. As he went to check on his client, he saw numerous brown bottle of pills open and emptied that were anti-depressants. Shaking his client to wake him up, all he got was no response. He checked for a pulse but didn’t feel anything. He told us he called 911 immediately afterwards on his cell phone. We have the conversation.
It’s safe to say that Jair is in a much better condition than before as it was reported at 4:30 this evening. His best friends who were also part of the stable, “The Dying Breed” were shocked by the news knowing it was just last night that they all left the arena, headed to their respective rest spots. Anthony Bailey lowered his head to the news, flabbergasted as he placed both of his bandaged-wrapped hands together in a form of a prayer....
“I know he has been different these past couple of weeks. I thought it was just a short phase. It’s been kind of hectic but never did I think he would go to poisoning himself with pills. I’m praying he recovers fully.”
We got a word from his other stablemate, William D. Williams as he sat in the corner of the waiting room....
“That’s my brother in that room. I never imagined he would hurt himself. He has been quite emotional the past couple of weeks but that’s who he is. He lays it on the line each week, trying to please the fans. He’s still a rookie in the business, negative criticism is going to come regardless. I don’t want to talk no more. I just want to get confirmation that our brother is alright.”

Brazilian Female Voice: “Yes, what’s the emergency?”
Rosenthal: “Yes, my client, Jair Hopkins needs medical attention QUICK! I think he might have overdosed ... Uh (stuttering), there’s no pulse!”
Brazilian Female Voice: “Okay, could you hold please?”
(A sigh is heard...)
Rosenthal: “Sure, please hurry, ma’am! I don’t know how long it’s been since he took all of this dosage.”
(Elevator Music is played -- Skips to eight minutes later...)
Female Clerk: “Okay, address please.”
Rosenthal: “It’s the Sheraton here in Sao Paulo. Hurry, please, my client needs serious help!
Female Clerk: I’m doing my best, I’m still new on the calls. We’re not far away. The Emergency unit should be there momentarily.
Rosenthal: Thank you! This has to be the worst week of my life!
