Most of you may know her as the villainous, often spiteful, "Matriarch of Meltdown", Sienna Harrison. And for those of you familiar with Action Packed Wrestling, you're also probably fa,iliar with the numerous rumors, allegations, and even lawsuits hurled their way over the past few months.
Most recently, during the May 27th live production of Action Packed Wrestling's Mayhem, critics were furious after comments from Action Packed Wrestling Megastar, Jerry Matthews, also known as "The Evangelist", targeting Meltdown up-and-comer London Carter, and more importantly, targeting his lifestyle.
We caught up with Sienna in Portland, Oregon on Tuesday afternoon, the night after the controversial Meltdown episode, and after questioning Sienna about the accusations thrown her way, she had this to say:
"What people fail to understand is, I'm running a television show, and I have to deal with twenty Megastars on my roster on a weekly basis. Action Packed Wrestling and the board of directors aren't giving me a shit-load of help over on Meltdown, so if I'm doing something wrong, I don't find out about it until the fans tell me. And the ratings between Rasslemania and last week's Super Show were overwhelmingly higher than APW Overdrive, and sometimes even higher than Asylum-- so clearly, the fans don't have too much to complain about.
"However, there are some people upset that I'm endorsing 'The Evangelist' Jerry Matthews because he's labeled as a homophobe. Thus, I probably look like a homophobe, thus, Action Packed Wrestling looks like-- well, you get the idea here, now don't you?
"Let me go on the record to state that I guarantee you that I am the only person in Action Packed Wrestling that is active in groups and organizations dedicated to the civil rights of the LGBT Community, and I am very proud to be a part of that cause, so I don't even want to hear that garbage.
"Secondly, Jerry Matthews may not be the most politically correct person in APW, but he has strong beliefs just like everybody else on the roster, and I respect them. I endorse him as a wrestler. I will continue to tell the world to TALK ABOUT JERRY MATTHEWS as a wrestler.
"I would love for the world to talk about London Carter. But I don't plead with the commentators to pump him up for the TV audience. I don't pay thousands of dollars for London Carter advertisements. Why?
"Well... What has London Carter done for me? Has he reached out to me? No.
"Jerry Matthews has.
"Has London Carter come to me every single day, asking me how to advance in APW? Asking how he can become the best that he can possibly be? No.
"Jerry Matthews has.
"I would love to see London Carter become the next North American Champion. I'd love to see him win Test for the Best-- because he's one of the best wrestlers APW has, and it'd be great for ratings. But I would be ENTHRALLED to see Jerry Matthews become the North American Champion or win Test for the Best... Because I know Jerry Matthews wants it. I don't know what London wants.
"Talk about Jerry Matthews.
"London Carter?
"...You're welcome."
