(word bubble)> {Thought Bubble}
The last time that we saw our hero he was able to defeat the villainous Red Scorpion. Although matching wits and strength with the venomous evil doer took a little more out of him than he expected. The Emerald Assassin, also known as Danny Green made sure that he and his faithful sidekick Peter Eastman could head back home for some rest and relaxation before their next bout.
However Danny, ever the crime fighting enthusiast is unable to resist the temptation of suiting up and tracking down the scum of society; has gone off into the night. Leaving Peter at their headquarters to help him navigate the darkness.
Panel One: The night sky is the brightest it has ever been. The moon is full and casting rays of great light upon the earth. The silhouette of The Emerald Assassin is sketched onto the brick walls of Jack Kirby High School.
Panel Two: The Emerald Assassin takes shelter behind a large green double door dumpster. Hiding from the glaring headlight of a Chevy Impala heading toward the school.
Panel Three: The Emerald Assassin steps even further behind the dumpster hiding between it and a wooden fence placed strategically to keep out wondering animals. He stares through the cracks, observing the now parked Checy Impala.
(Emerald Assassin)> Hey, Peter you got anything on the horn yet?
Meanwhile, back at headquarters
Panel Four: Peter is staring at the many computer screens set up in his bedroom, all connected to various police scanners, and hacked into local barracks software. His glasses are reflecting the many images that his eyes and brain have been multi tasking. He is wearing his modified blue tooth head set that is used to communicate with The Emerald Assassin while he is in the field.
(Peter)> No, not yet. I mean you knew it was a long shot. It's not like we have a major crime problem here. Mrs. Henderson may need you to grab her cat out of a tree though. She called the fire department about a half hour ago asking for assistance.
(The Emerald Assassin)> Was anyone dispatched?
(Peter)> No. It's like midnight, and it's just a cat in a tree. Not exactly a crisis.
(The Emerald Assassin)>That's a little harsh. What if she's alone and and that cat is her only friend or family.
(Peter)> My guess is that she is has about thirty other cats just waiting for their chance to claw their way out to freedom.
(The Emerald Assassin)> Maybe I will swing by after I finish up here. I think there may be something going down.
(Peter)> Really? What's going on?
(The Emerald Assassin)> There's a rusty Impala parked here at the school, they just got here. Looks like two people inside. Just sitting in front of the school This late at night. Seems fishy too me.
(Peter)> Can you establish a visual on the license plate number? I can run it through the Bureau records and get a read up on the owner.
(The Emerald Assassin)> Yeah, I need a second though.
Panel five: The Emerald Assassin crawls out from between the dumpster and it's fence. Carefully barrel rolling across the road and into a large garden of bushes.
Panel Five: He takes a small pair of binoculars out of his utility belt and eyes the tail end of the vehicle.
(The Emerald Assassin)> EVL 1408
(Peter)> Ok, just give me a moment.
Panel Six: Peter punches in the keys on his laptop and like clock has hacked into the police mainframe. He punches in the plate number and pulls up the information.
(Peter)> Oswald Quinn. Man, there's a laundry list of things here ranging from small time drug charges to a stint in state penitentiary for armed robbery of a convenient store. Be careful Danny.
Panel seven: The Emerald Assassin sneaks ever closer to the car. To the left, in an alley way next to the school the silhouette of a man is progressing toward the parked car. If not for the lit cigarette, The Emerald Assassin may not have even seen him coming. Emerald Assassin stops, kneeling just out of sight.
Panel eight: The man in the alley comes right up to the side of the Impala's driver side door and they begin speaking.
(Oswald (The driver))> Hey playa, how's it hanging?
(Buyer)>Short shriveled and to the left.
(Oswald)> Ain't that bout a bitch.
(Buyer)>Ain't nuttin but a thing.
{I'm going to have to wait to make my move. Though if I am too careful this Oswald fella will get away for sure. }
(Peter)> Danny, please man be careful this guy is dangerous.
(Oswald)> So how much you want man.
(Buyer)> two sacks.
(Oswald)> That's what I like to hear my man. You going to a party?
(Buyer)> Little bit, little bit.
(Oswald)> Sixty five bucks my man and you gonna party like a rock star my man.
Panel Nine: Emerald Assassin sneaks to the back of the car, almost kissing the licence plate.
Panel ten: The passenger in the car is digging into his pocket. The buyer is handing him money through the window. Oswald grabs it from his hand.
Panel eleven: As the passenger grabs the sacks out of his pocket he see's the shadow of The Emerald Assassin in the mirror.
(Passenger)> Eh, brotha there's someone hiding behind the car.
Panel Twelve: Oswald checks the rear view mirror and see's the cascading shadow and gets very twitchy.
(Oswald)> You plottin on me boy? Who you got behind the car?
(Buyer)> I don't know what you're talking about man I just want the stuff, you have my money.
(Oswals)> You tryin to pull one over on me, rob me like a fool?
Panel Thirteen: Oswald puts the car into reverse and slams his foot on the pedal.
Screeeeeeech
Thud
Panel fourteen: The buyer takes off back into the alley. The sacks stuffed safely in his pocket. Both car doors are opened and Oswald and his passenger and partner in crime are stepping out of the vehicle.
Panel fifteen: They are both standing behind their car scratching their heads at the empty road behind their car. They know they saw someone, and they know they ran something over if not him, so where was it?
Panel sixteen: Oswald pulls out a gun and points it at his passenger.
(Oswald)> crawl under the car and see if he's down there.
(Passenger)> bleep Man, you need to calm down. Don't be point that sh*# at me.
Panel seventeen: The passenger is kneeling, his head under the bumper of the car.
(Oswald)> You see anything?
Zip-Woosh
Panel eighteen: The passenger is pulled under the car with great speed.
(Oswald)> What the hell?
Panel nineteen: A zip line wraps around Oswald's ankles and as he is also yanked under neath the car. He is pulled to the front end. His passenger is tied up and he see's the attacker, the man he tried to hit. Dressed in a tight green suit and mask.
(Emerald Assassin)> Dealing drugs is a crime. Dealing drugs in front of a school, well that's another kind of low.
Panel twenty: He ties Oswald up like his passenger, arms behind his back, legs pulled back taking away movement.
(Emerald Assassin)> In addition, tacking on attempted vehicular homicide, aggravated assault, and something tells me, that you don't have a permit to carry that weapon. Hand gun unregistered?
(Oswald)> Didn't know it was Halloweeen homie. Why don't you take that costume off and show me your face.
(Passenger)> Thinks he's a super hero. Seen too many movies.
(Oswald)> Oh don't worry hero, you gonna get got. One way or the other.
(Emerald Assassin)> No. See, finally you're the one "getting got".
Panel twenty one: Emerald Assassin kneels down next to his catch.
(Emerald Assassin)> For far too long you have been getting away with this scum bag activity. Oswald Quinn. Yeah, I know your name, I know your address, and I know your wrap sheet. I know you're pretty comfortable in the penitentiary and that's awesome, cause you're going back. For a long time.
(Peter)> Ok man I alerted the police they have a dispatch already on the way. You better get out of there.
(Emerald Assassin)> I am going to forget about the fact that you tried to run me over. And leave you to the police.
Panel twenty two: He reaches into the front dash and presses the button to open the truck. Emerald Assassin peaks back and sees a pile of paraphernalia.
(Emerald Assassin)> You have enough drugs and guns to keep you away. Have fun in prison. Find god if you need too.
Panel twenty three: The red and blue lights are in the distance. Emerald Assassin runs off into the night.
(Emerald Assassin)> because if you don't I will be back for you and next time, I won't be so kind.
Days Later
Panel twenty four: Danny, Stacey and Peter are in a cab. Just miles away from the arena nearing their hotel room.
(Stacey)> OMG I cannot wait for Monday, this traveling around with the APW like they were the grateful dead was such a cool idea Danny. It's really helped me a lot.
(Danny)> Well, hey, you're with friends. Watching a badass show every week on the road. Does it get any better?
(Peter)> I'm sure I can think of a few things.
(Stacey)> I can only imagine...something to do with a naked Wonder Woman or something.
(Peter)> Really? Is that how you think of me? I mean she's classy and all, but that's kind of a turn off. I am more of a Mary Jane kinda guy. Not the pretty girl next door that she bacame, but the early drug addicted party girl.
(Stacey)> Yawn.
(Peter)> Whatever....Hey how about we stop picking on me eh?
(Danny)> Sounds pretty boring?
(Peter)> Oh ok gonna be like that? You know I just thought of something. It's really weird. crazy even.
(Stacey)> Here we go...
(Peter)> Danny has never sat with us during an Emerald assassin match. How about that? Kinda weird?
(Danny) Purely coincidence my man.
(Peter)>Pretty strange coincidence.
(Stacey)> Not really, I mean it's not like Danny is the Emerald Assassin. haha.
(Danny)> Cause that would be ridiculous.
(Peter)> I suppose so. He actually showed some toughness last week.
Panel twenty five: They get out of their cab and are in front of the hotel. Stacey heads in while Danny and Peter hold back.
(Danny)> Dude careful with the inside jokes man.
(Peter)> Sorry dude, just making light of a situation.
(Danny)> This is serious business though, you above anyone else should know the severity and danger of this situation. She' can;t know that I am the Emerald Assassin.
(Peter)>Right man I'm sorry.
(Danny)> All is forgiven man.
Panel twenty six: Danny starts heading down the street.
(Peter)> Where you going?
(Danny)> I have match to prepare for.
It's been two weeks since I made my debut in Action Packed Wrestling and I have to say it is exactly as tough as I thought it would be.
It's challenging, but that's why I am here. To be tested, taken to the limit. The past few weeks being in the ring with Red Scorpion have done just that.
I was put in the ring with another newcomer to be watched carefully and I guess I was impressive enough. As I have been entered into the test for the best tournament.
My inclusion in this tournament is an honor, and had far from been lost on me. This is the next challenge. The next task that will take me to the brink of my abilities.
Of course the competition will be stiff, they wouldn't be included in the tournament if they were not some of the best the meltodwn brand has to offer.
I have been preparing. It is easy to assume that I am too young, too inexperienced and too green.
Excuse the pun
to be taken seriously, but I have done everything I can to train properly for the match. I have been hitting the gym. Working with other wrestlers willing to teach me.
Now, I know that I am new around here, but I have always strive to be the best. I am a serious threat to everyone in this match, and don't have a doubt in my mind that I will be moving forward into the next round.
There are plenty of rumors about, me and my activities outside of this place. Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
take me for what I am. A competitor. One who knows that losing just isn't an option. I look forward to this match. I look forward to this competition. And I look forward to my advancement in the tournament.
{I know that she doesn't know. I know that she can never know, but I am doing this for her. All of it. The wrestling, the crime fighting. And now with my inclusion in the test for the best, I have to win. For her. Knowing she is in the arena watching will be all I need to walk out with the victory.}
