The End Pt.2: Sending a Message
It’s a gloomy and very cloudy day on a beach front property. Standing all around are hundreds of witnesses all dressed in druid style robes with mask like that of various clowns staring into the distance of the sea behind the main druid clown who is in the water. Kneeled down beneath the primary druid is an older man with tape over his mouth and fear in his eyes, naked as he was the day he came into the world. Carved in blood over the top half of the man’s body is what appears to be the design of a referee’s shirt. You could tell the cuts were fresh as blood still trickled down his chest.
Voice Over:
This was a sad day and what appeared to be a very bloody day with a sadistic ending. You see, the story here was that this man crossed a line with a man who he did not understand. Now, he pays the price for his sin, but rather than in money or time, with his life.
Primary Druid:
[While the man weeps holding him by the head]
In the name of the brotherhood, we therefore baptize you in the name of our fathers and for the sake of our sons, amen.
The primary druid then takes the man and baptizes him but rather than bringing him back up, he holds him down as the man struggles to breath, he takes his last breath. Suddenly, back in reality, another older man in a cellar wakes up after AK, Enigma’s right hand female enforcer’s tosses a bucket of water on him. He wakes to the cold and darkness and only the light from the opened door is visible and the silhouette of AK standing within its center.
AK:
WAKE UP! It’s a good day to die; at least in my opinion.
AK laughs as she walks off leaving the chained up former referee on the floor, wondering what was coming next. Back upstairs. Enigma sat in his recliner looking out the window of his high rise suite, sipping on vodka, while hearing an earful from his fiancé Red.
Red:
[Sitting on the bed next to Enigma talking strongly]
E, all I am saying is that what the ref or Freeman did in the VWF, YES it was wrong and YES it was a swerve move on his part and that of VWF administration, but what you are doing with this man now is borderline; no, no, no, this IS INSANE!
Enigma:
[Asserting himself]
LOOK! You can say whatever it is that you want about this man all you want, but when I’m done with him, I’m done! Until then, your words are just that, words.
Knock, knock, knock sounds the door.
Red:
[Walking to the door]
WHO IS IT!
Person:
AH, this is management and I have peace of mail sent via Fed-Ex marked urgent for a ah, Mr. Enigma!
Red goes to the door grabs the package and slams the door shut and walks assertively back to the side of the bed and hands the document to Mr. Enigma.
Red:
Now what?
Enigma opens the letter and finds a contract with stipulations regarding a dark match with APW after several back feelers with Mr. Enigma over the past week. The letter also shows Enigma his pay along with his first opponent Sjin Drako with minor specs on him as well. Red gets the signal and after being highly upset with Enigma smiles as she heads to the fax machine after Enigma signed it to send it back to Jeff; President and CEO of APW.
Enigma gets up, grabs a cigar, and heads down to the cellar where he smokes his cigar, staring at his prized possession in deep thought of what his next move was and his future in APW.
Enigma:
[In thought]
So here we are…here we are at the end of the beginning and the beginning of several ends. All my life, all I ever wanted was a chance on the biggest stages of them all and already, it’s feeling like home.
Enigma pulls out his Galaxy S3 and takes a look at several tweets following the announcement of his signing with APW was made official though the news stations had yet to get wind of it.
Enigma:
[In thought]
For years many have come, everyone has fallen and Drako, in my best and sincerest of wishes, you will be no different. Sure the match is listed as a “dark match” but as for me, it’s perfectly fitting because darkness will fall, the match will serve its point and purpose and to the world; all will know my name. You see Drako, like this poor little pitiful man sitting before me, he made a mistake. He thought that by teaming with the enemy to conspire a plan that money was more important that his life. Come to find out, Enigma was not just about the money, but more so about sending a message. Drako, you shall soon know just as everyone else that will be put on notice; that you, in time, as with the rest of APW, won’t be worth the effort it takes for me to breathe when I am all but said and done with you and my conquest of vengeance on the wrestling world as you know it. The match, it actually begins here and starts now, and as in the end, that story has already been all but foretold and by midnight somewhere in Las Vegas, Enigma will as I am, be sipping in victory on a glass of vodka and waiting on what’s next. Drako, just as your specifications provide, the lack thereof don’t full me, but don’t be fooled by Engima’s success either because titles mean nothing unless the effect of your actions can back it up! Take notice Drako, because Enigma doesn’t need time to properly respond. Because whether he goes first, last, or just takes his time, Enigma always wins somehow, someway. Pick your poison Drako because either way; the many roads to your single destiny will end in the same; through me! And unfortunately for you, they shall also start and end with me.
Red then walks up behind Enigma.
Red:
So you going to go through this still even after getting the good news?
Enigma:
He must pay for his sins.
AK walks in as Enigma and Red walk off and she brings back down to the cellar a plate full of breakfast food. What the ref, ala Mr. Freeman did not know, was that in his food was several broken up and completely smashed up mix of psychotropic drugs. Being that he had not eaten, he tore into the plate not knowing what was about to happen. Enigma stood there and waited until he finished, but while he ate unknowingly something that would change his life forever, Enigma smiled.
Enigma:
[In thought]
You see Drako, it’s men like me that laugh at your misery, plot you downfall, and plan his own victory way ahead of the competition before the competition has a chance to even think about the situation. It’s like a bullet Drako. It has no name, can be unpredictable in its direction or course of action, but at the end of the day, be purposefully clear that depending on when and where it hits its target, make pinpoint and lasting effects on its victims. That is what I am going to do to this poor pathetic little man and that is what I will do to you. The bell is already ringing and the toll has all but rung. Whether you tap out before you get to you final destination and submit to my will or be forced to understand what you already know, trust me when I say, the hour of revelation has come.
Enigma turns to the side and grabs another set of gloves and puts them on and following that, a bucket of some sort of liquid that was also bubbling. Enigma put down his cigar and then tossed the liquid onto Mr. Freeman and his unfinished food and then closed the door as he laughed sadistically to himself walking back to the elevator; mocking the man’s screams that were going unheard.
Back in the cold darkness of the room, the some of the psychotropic drugs were already taking effect as the liquid mixture was literally burning the hair off of his entire body. Mentally the man could not take it and what little of his mind he had left, was now gone. All he would do now is laugh on and off hysterically while biting at his figures.
Voice Over:
Enigma had done what he planned to do; break the man’s will while also crushing his spirit. Enigma has always been known to be one for anything but grace and mercy or fear.
AK then returns by early morning to Mr. Freeman and the smell was the first thing that hit her nose as he had messed all over himself. Meticulously, as she had done several times before, she cleaned up the mess, dressed the man in some worn sackcloth clothing and send him away into the city like a homeless man on the streets. Freeman might have been a former referee in the VWF that forced his life a bit short due to a grave mistake, but now, he nothing more than a shell of a man and also a man that was completely out of his mind.
Enigma sat at his bedside as Red continued to pace back and forth in the background still talking about what Enigma had done and her disbelief that he actually did it. Enigma on the other had had nothing to say and everything to gain in his pleasure and contentment the act itself was done.
Enigma:
[In thought sitting back at his bedside recliner]
You see Drako, that is how you take care of business, that is how you seek vengeance and take it into your own hands, and that is the feeling of pleasure with a man that honestly could care less. At the end of the day Drako, like Freeman, you may come to the ring puffed up, high on fan reaction, and hoping to make a good impression, but honestly, your dreams will be crushed, the reaction will be great, and as for a good impression; it will be all my pleasure to give the fans what they came to see indeed at your expense. You see Drako, Enigma does not believe in preparation or quantity of words over the quality of ones actions. For me, I just do things and put on my best as much as it lies within me. If the fans are entertained, so be it. All that matters to me Drako is the evidence of you pain, the duration of you torment, and the pleasure of my victory no matter how that victory is won. You see Drako, for Enigma, the victory for me starts with every moment that I breathe and taking my breath away, at your hands, not a chance in hell. Welcome to my world Drako…welcome to the end of the beginning and the beginning of your end, and the end of the APW as you and the rest of whatever goons have known it to be! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enigma then turns on the TV set as one of his favorite videos begins to play…
