A report has just come in within the hour saying that earlier last night, Overdrive Megastar, "The Boss/Pope" Delikado took what the doctors and authorities are calling a "very nasty fall" when he was out for a night of partying in New Orleans.
The Cuban was said to have fallen over a second-floor balcony in a nightclub while trying to show a crowd of friends and spectators that Swiss cheese falls faster than American cheese, and landed directly on his head, before both the Swiss and American cheese even had a chance to fly. "Yeah, he just fell and stuff. Like, hard and whatnot," said an educated witness. Delikado is said to have been responsive and dismissive of needing any medical aid, addressing the large, bloody wound in his head as "snickerdoodles" just before he started drunkenly singing a high-pitched song about his love for snickerdoodles while turning pale.
Doctors were eventually able to detain Delikado long enough to clean and bandage up his head, but when they requested he take time off, at least for a week or so to address the severity of his injury and thus skipping his match with CJ Gates in the process, the Cuban was adamant on competing in his Test for the Best Round 1 match. Delikado was quoted to have said he had to go and fight, "For the Synndicate!", which is confusing as Delikado is a member of The League of Extraordinary Wrestlers, a coalition presently at odds with both the Synndicate and their Asylum counterpart, the New Sindicate. When someone tried to correct him, Delikado grew agitated, bitterly mumbling "Whatever..." before he limped off alone into the night.
Action Packed Wrestling officials have been reached for comment, and as far as they know, everything is still "a-go" for the Main Event in New Orleans between Delikado and CJ Gates. They have told us Delikado has yet to reach out and address his injury to them or to request a possible leave of absence, and unless he does so, or shows signs of needing time off due to his head wound, they will allow the erratic Megastar to compete on Overdrive.
No members of The League could be reached for further comments at the time this article was published.
