Credit goes to Biggs, Craven, and Jennings for helping with matches! Segment credit goes to that cool cat Envi, Havok, Knox, Gooch, Jennings, Delikado, Biggs, Shadow, A.C. Smith, Level One, Logan, AJP, CK, Marvin, and Jewel-- though I'm not sure how credit works these days with folks from other shows, so the last 5 were just named for being awesome I guess. Let me know if I missed anyone. Feedback is appreciated and encouraged. Discussion is necessary!

It was better than Impact. I had Overdrive open while I was watching Impact and reading Overdrive during commercials. I ended up fucusing on Overdrive even when Impact was on. lol

Any e-fedding show is better than the real wrestling crap we watch nowadays.

Overdrive 6/13 Feedback Note: I know I don’t get to do this very often, but I’m home sick from work today. Whenever I do show feedback, I type my responses as I read the show, kind of like I’m doing a live review. Think The John Report, which if you’re a WWE fan and you aren’t reading it, you should be! It’s that good! tjrwrestling.com-Interesting open as The Gooch gets his butt kicked by Tommy Knox. I’ll be honest, I don’t read Meltdown as much as I should, so the brief recap by Tommy as to why he was attacking Buckson was a helpful. I really liked how we started Overdrive this week with an attack, because more often than not, it’s an in-ring seg or match starting the night off. We can’t do this every week, but in moderation, it’s good stuff. I could have done without the “Welcome to Overdrive line,” because if anything, The Gooch has been on Overdrive longer. Maybe something along the lines of “Welcome to New Orleans!” would have worked better. Still, a minor nitpick on a good opening seg otherwise. -Nice brief seg with Filipe Delorean to really sell the Civil War between the New Sindicate and the Synndicate. Normally, Heel vs. Heel is hard to get invested into in real life wrestling, but with the talent involved in this feud, it’s a good one. -Really great seg from A.C. Smith selling the events of two weeks ago. I’m still not sure how I feel about the League overall, even though I like everyone in it. I guess I’m just having a hard time seeing why a good guy’s good guy like Buckson Gooch would join up with a pack of liars and cheaters. Still, can’t deny the talent involved, and it’s certainly an interesting concept. There was a lot of little things in the seg that I liked, and it really read as a conversation. Props to AC. -Lots of segs before we get to our first match, and if this were an actual broadcast, I could see them going to commercial after Amy’s entrance. But this is online, so commercial breaks be darned! For the match itself, it was excellent! I know that Evan wrote it, and one thing I love about Evan’s matches is that he takes the time to work in the character beats for the folks in the match. Smith’s reluctance to fight a woman showed through loud and clear, as did Amy’s disdain for Smith. I loved both RPs for this match, and this was a great match that reflected the quality of the RPs. I would love to see an Amy Zing vs. AC Smith feud following TftB, especially because Amy can play the whole “I only lost once in the tournament, you needed a second chance” card. -More venom from Knox. I don’t see why this had to be done in-ring, or if it was done in-ring, why it wasn’t just before his match with Havok? Overall, I felt it was serviceable, but nothing to write home about. It did it’s job in hyping the match with Havok and Knox later on. -Solid promo by Jennings. Sold his character well, and described his motivations. Was it heavy handed at times? Sure, but I think that’s the point. Good effort, dude. Also, it’s interesting how so many different folks are going against The League, be they good guys, bad guys, or somewhere in between. -Up next is my match with J-Reb. I hope everybody had fun reading it. As for my post match interview, I threw that in there because I knew there were a lot of segs, and it would help the flow of the show to just have my match and seg together. Had I lost, I would have probably done a seg following the break, but either way, it’s not the worst thing in the world to have your guy contained to one appearance on the show. At least that was my rational with the way I did things this week. -Knox versus Havok was a good match, but unlike the first match of the night, I feel like it didn’t really express the hatred between the two as well as the hatred between Zing and Smith earlier in the night. Especially considering Knox’ statements earlier in the night, I would have expected a more brutal, hard hitting match. Instead, it just felt like two guys fighting only because they’re in a tournament against each other. Also, maybe it’s just my bias, or the fact that I’ve known the Havok character for so long, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the idea of the fans cheering Havok. -The League promo certainly came off as more heelish than face. Still, a great promo that was purposefully long-winded and abstract enough to where it told you what The League intends to do without truly defining it. Of course, the whole bemoaning of politics came off as whining, but at this point, the story is still young, so it’s good that they didn’t spell absolutely everything out in black and white. Granted, I don’t buy the whole beyond Good and Evil thing, and I disagree with what they’re saying about not having the showmanship for the shows themselves, but overall, an interesting and well written piece. -Two League segs in a row might be a wee-bit Overkill, but when they’re as well written as the exchange between Jenny Knite and Cindy Shannon, I’m not going to complain. -While I see what was trying to be accomplished with the impromptu match between Jennings and Gooch, I don’t understand why the fans would cheer Jennings through it. One thing I’d like to see is consistency in whom the fans cheer and boo for. If Nathaniel Havok can get cheered earlier in the night, than Buckson Gooch should get even more cheers. What Jennings did in accepting the match was so cowardly, so underhanded, that the only people who you could justify cheering for him are the folks who are his diehard fans. And I’m sorry, but Jennings hasn’t been on Overdrive quite long enough to build that kind of a following. It felt false to me, it felt hollow, and the only reason Jennings got cheered was because it was written that way. I get a similar vibe from Jennings as I do from Sheamus in the WWE, that he’s nothing more than a big bully masquerading as a good guy. I don’t mean to single you out, Jennings, but for me, the fact that you openly admit to acting like a heel, but want to get cheered anyways, plus the way he was written in this match just doesn’t work for me. I personally would not cheer for Michael Jennings. -Just wanted to briefly note that I love the running theme of Envi being nowhere to be found. -I didn’t see the point of the Jennings seg following the commercial break. It seems like Jennings is trying hard to get over, to the point where he’s all over the place the on the show. In the span of one show, we had Jennings preach about children, pull a dastardly deed over Buckson Gooch, and pick a fight with his father. Early in my e-fed career, I was all over the place as well, and looking back now, I’m embarrassed by it. Sometimes, less is more. Everything Jennings did tonight could have been spread out over two or three weeks. -Another Cindy Shannon and Jenny Knite seg. While the information about Gooch was important, I really feel like there’s just a glut of segs that’s slowing the show down. -Finally, Evan Envi appears! I think after that promo, I can safely say that the League are heels. I love the fact that AC Smith is standing up against them. GO AC! Also, the New Sindicate sighting at the end of the seg was brief but good. Sets up some more intrigue for later on. -Shadow vs. Jake Titan was a fun little match. I love the never say die attitude of Shadow. I’ll be honest, I’m sad to see him leave Overdrive, but I understand OOC. Still, one of my favorite guys to feud with, and one of my favorite characters to write matches for. Good heat for the NBK for forcing Shadow out of Overdrive. -Can I just say I love the fact that Delikado uses “The Avengers Theme” as his entrance song? It’s all sorts of amazing! Also, Delikado has got to be one of the most versatile and adaptive characters I’ve ever seen in e-fedding! Because of his craziness, he can change more than Madonna and still be the same character! I think my favorite iteration thus far was Rabid Delikado, but Pope Deli is extremely entertaining as well. As for the match itself, it’s a shame that Deli didn’t have more of a chance to RP, because both RPs were quality. It’s just that CJ’s had quality and quanity. Still a very well written match, and good selling of Deli’s possible concussion. -The Faction Warfare was amazing! The League has been booked strong over the last few weeks, and taking out both the New Sindicate and Synndicate at once was impressive. A great climax to the show. -While I’m glad Shadow’s getting another chance, I wouldn’t have closed the show with it. It feels almost like an afterthought following the epic seg to close the show. I love the Shadow character, don’t get me wrong, but it’s hard to follow what came immediately before it. Final Thoughts: Overall, a good go home show, although that’s not very hard to do with Test for the Best. The Tourney itself always feels like a big deal, which made the four matches tonight by extension seem like a big deal. Other than the misfire with Jennings versus Gooch, solid action all around this week. If you want to see an example of how a lot of segs can work, look at everything between The League and the two versions of the Sindicate. Everything built towards their confrontation at the end of the show. The stuff with AC Smith worked off of two weeks ago. I don’t mean to harp so much on Jennings, but I really do feel that his second segment was not needed, at least not this week. Did it work off of his prior stuff? No. All it did was get him on the show more. It easily could have been saved for another show.

This was definitely a segment heavy show, which I guess I can see. With only 3 Overdrives between Mayhem and TFTB, there's a lot to fit into a small time frame, and if people weren't aware of the limit, then that means even more was thrown onto the show to try and make up for lost time. Which is understandable. I guess, if this was the case, for future shows, there is a tour schedule that details how many shows are between each PPV, so you can kind of plan accordingly.
Only a few segments seemed to be kind of pointless, I guess is the right word? As Biggs mentioned, the one Tommy Knox segment could have probably been fit into his entrance. I know it's no big deal in the end, but with no segment, other than Biggs speech, being placed between the Biggs/Rebel and Havok/Knox match, it would have fit better there I think.
As far as the segments go, I'll repeat something I said last year and have probably said many times. When putting together segments, think if you can put a few segments together to make one bigger one. I know it's hard to do at times, but it might save the feeling that the show is bouncing from one segment to another.
Overall though, I think, for the most part, the segments did their job and built the stories that aren't the tournament going into TFTB. The only issue would be the number being a bit much and that the segments might have overshadowed the matches in volume, but that's nothing that can really lose marks. What I said above was just constructive.
Match wise - solid matches. I think what Biggs said above, about the Knox/Havok match not having the feel it should after the segment is just a matter of different writers and not really knowing what is happening segment wise before. Other than that, though, some great matches that did a lot to sell characters. I especially liked the Delikado/Gates match, so props to, I believe, Envi? Great job all around.
Liked what happened between the League/Sindicate/Synndicate, though it almost feels like we've got 3 heel stables going at it without a face one. Even if some consider themselves face, they don't always appear that way, but I've mentioned that before. Eventually I'm sure there will be a payoff that explains everything and sets everything in order. I look forward to it!
Solid show overall, if a bit heavy on the segments. A good go home show.

-I liked the attack scene. It was one of the better things on this show, that's for sure.
-I also liked the Felipe Delorean segment. Short but well done.
-The Smith segment was okay but the Smith/League/Envi thing has dragged on and it's not really interesting anymore to be honest.
-Oh look, more Jenny Knite during the Smith match. The match was good but unlike Biggs I don't see them feuding.
-I loved the Knox segment. Best thing on the show thus far. The Knox/Gooch heat comes across as legit and I like it.
-Biggs/Rebel was great, probably the match of the night. Good post-match seg too.
-I didn't like the League segment. The first thing is the politics then. In Havok's promo Jeff gives them his blessing so isn't that playing politics? Yeah, that part of the angle doesn't work in my opinion. This was more of a propaganda video if anything.
-The Jenny Knite segment was good but I didn't like that it was clearly written after the Havok match was judged which took away from it from me. Noticed a few things on this show were done after the judging was complete (such as the Biggs segs and this) which I honestly don't like.
-Now to talk about the crowd cheers in the Gooch/Jennings match. Biggs brought up Jennings not having diehard fans but yet, at the same time, the League just formed too so that has to be taken into account. The fans aren't just going to overnight cheer for them like sheep either. That's the one thing about the League angle that's irked me. You've got three heels and a face. Are they really going to cheer for them wildly this quickly? I think not. You can feel that way all you want Biggs but the way you feel about Jennings I feel about the League. Why would anyone cheer those guys? I'm not seeing it nor do I get it. As for my character getting cheered he turned face to put over a heel character on Meltdown and it just continued from there. As for the match it was revised last minute because of the Gooch injury angle with Knox. The original version of this had Gooch overpowering Jennings most of it with some good back and forth. I didn't know how hurt Gooch was so I went with him being attacked pre-match and made it short.
-As for the Jennings/Trevor seg, that's just tying up loose ends. It was a storyline that needs and ending and it will get it soon. Just wanted to start it before the PPV RP period began.
-I didn't see the point of the Knite segment. Seemed just thrown in there to get the League more air time.
-The Smith/Envi segment was kind of a let down to be honest and the cameo at the end was weird since all of them were in "Save the World" T-shirts which was weird.
-Titan/Shadow served it's purpose. I knew Shadow wanted to go to Meltdown again so this helps with that. Hoping Niobi gets called up or Robina. So nice to see Duvall finally on this show.
-And another League segment. Seriously, I get called on for doing too much earlier in this thread yet there's been 3/1 or 4/1 ratio of League/non-League segments on this show. smh
-I liked the main event but it came across as an afterthought to me and the next segment is why...
-The Synndicate/New Sindicate talking portion was good. Made L-O and Marvin come across as the main feud. However once it deviated from that it went downhill. I like the Marvin/L-O interactions and feud which is BY FAR the best part of this storyline. However the moment the brawl started this fell apart and quickly. For one thing 3 of the 4 members of the League have some kind of injury so how do they come out on top in all of this when they're banged up? That makes no sense to me whatsoever. This whole thing was a waste. Seems like it was done to put over certain wrestlers yet it made both Sindicates come across as weak and really took away from the verbal banter between L-O and Marvin that happened before all of this which was by far the best part of the end segment. This was not good at all.
-I liked the end segment with Shadow and Sienna. It made sense, was logical, and served its purpose.
I didn't like this show at all. Seemed to just be a vehicle to promote the League and it took away from everyone else on the show in my opinion. Overkill on the League stuff dragged this show down big time. I liked the Knox and Shadow segments. The Biggs segment was good too. The rest...yeah, not so much. Gates is dead on about the Havok/Knox match. Kind of hard know something without knowing it before hand. But then again I'm not staff so I wouldn't have known about any of the prematch stuff. Hurt both matches considering I did the Gooch match and thought the attack would be pre-match not beginning of the show.

Gooch being cheered would make sense, with or without the League. I think that's what Biggs was mentioning. Jennings was getting cheered harder then Gooch who has been on Overdrive longer and is the face...The League being new shouldn't matter. Gooch was cheered heavily before, but was being cheered less then Jennings.

I think a big part of why The League seems heel... was because just a few weeks ago Envi and Nathaniel Havok were both heels and Evan Envi was one of the best ones. The transition to face sorta came overnight and it's still hard to get used to for me.
Edit - Oh, and Delikado. Who I see as a tweener/heel personally.
But I wrote them in as faces because that's what they're going for.
It's hard to write Stable related stuff. Almost impossible to plan everything out with each member specifically (that one would take participation from 10 people) without it going off on a hitch. So, for the continuity errors - my bad!
Just glad it was able to happen. Big thanks to those involved.

Just getting a chance to give this show a really in-depth read! Here goes... I liked the opening with Knox/Gooch, and this continues being one of my favorite angles to watch unfold and come to life, all stemming from a little impromptu tag match on Meltdown in like, February! Knox is money, which I don't think a lot of people realize, and Gooch is as well-- which everyone except Gooch realizes. The Felipe segment basically set the tone for the night, and it led into some foreshadowing with the Smith/Jenny segment. I'm glad I was able to work with him closely this week, and I enjoyed writing Zing/Smith. I'm very familiar with both characters, and I know how Smith would operate out there in the ring with a woman. I hope it came off well, but as somebody mentioned-- I don't see a long-term feud coming out of this, unless one of them changes their character drastically ASAP, and I hope that doesn't happen. I'm enjoying how Zing is getting just a tiny bit edgier while on Overdrive, but going over the top could be disastrous. Great effort from both this week. I saw nothing wrong, content-wise, with Knox's in-ring segment but I am in the same boat as many others, wondering why it was a standalone segment and not a part of the entrance. It was already placed like that in the "planning area" in the staff board, so I left it untouched. Again-- great segment, bad timing. Last week, I criticized Michael Jennings' character for not knowing what or who he wanted to be. This week, he seemed to have more of a direction. He's a self-aware psychopath with, for his own reasons, a vendetta against the "big" factions in APW, most notably the League. I like his apparent conspiracy theory with Jeff being the mastermind behind the League. Taking myself out of the situation, that is where Jennings starts gripping my attention in this promo. Toward the end, it seemed to devolve into rambling, but, hell, it was still entertaining, and he wrapped it up by announcing a "war" with APW management. This, I'm not sure about, since both Shadow, and to a lesser/different extent, Nathaniel Havok are already knees-deep in similar angles. Could work though. Biggs vs Rebel was an old school, down-and-dirty, good guy vs bad guy wrestling match. The imagery was priceless, and it conveyed a HUGE sense of rivalry between the two. I had a miniature mark-out moment, reading Biggs kick out of the Put-Down. There was a sense of urgency that I felt in this match, and the TFTB tournament was (rightfully) sold as a huge deal. Afterward, Biggs posted a segment celebrating his advancement. Someone mentioned earlier "disliking" segments that played on a certain result, and I don't see why. As a GM, I've gotten several alternative PM's from people, and I've been told to use one, or avoid using them altogether, depending on the result. The circumstances under which the segment was written shouldn't affect your reaction to the content. Let's not be petty. I missed Havok/Knox the first time! This match was alright, but oddly forgettable. I always try to come to the writer with things like this, and on Meltdown, sometimes I edit commentary to reflect what happened earlier in the night, but... Yeah. Congrats, Havok! Hopefully Knox is able to do something big at the PPV regardless. Idk who those League guys are, but they're a bunch of studs! They should expand Overdrive to 3 hours, just so the League can have an hour of Thursday Night League dedicated to the League. Jenny/Cindy happened after, and I hope it was enjoyable. Gooch/Jennings happened. It was fine for what it was, and I understand how match notes can be vague at times. I didn't immediately note anything wrong with the match. The apparent severity of Gooch's lacerations went without note, but again-- at least the injury was acknowledged, so kudos. The match being short made sense, and the follow-up by Jennings at the night was almost necessary heading into TFTB. Good connection between Gooch and the Overdrive Title match. After this, was a segment involving Jennings, Jennings, and Jewel. I don't think there's much I can touch on here that hasn't already been said, but this was just... Weird. The dialogue seemed horribly disproportionate to what we're used to from Jennings, and was outright unbelievable at points. Also, there was no build or suspense leading to the action in the brawl. I understand that the end goal was "shock value", and that was accomplished, but could've been done in a far more productive way. Also... Again, Jennings is resorting to borrowing dialogue from CM Punk, which I feel is unnecessary, and overdone. Anyway... I do recognize that the Jenny/Shannon segment afterward was a bit much, and in retrospect, that spot could've/should've been used in place of the original Jenny/Shannon segment. At the time of planning, I thought it was necessary to sell the injuries Gooch sustained from Knox/Jennings because I had just learned about the contents of the show-ending segment. I would rather have people complain about my fictional character's manager being overexposed than have handlers complain about their characters' efforts looking worthless. ;D In the end, it was done to protect Knox/Jennings. Afterward was my segment was Smith, and I loved working with Andrew. I'm personally proud of what we accomplished with this segment. Envi isn't designed to be a clear-cut babyface, so if people are disappointed that he isn't coming off as one, then I'm doing my job. If people think Envi is trying to be several different things at once, then clearly I need to take a look at what I'm doing and start reaching out for personal feedback again. Shadow/Titan was good, but had some minor (but obvious) flaws in wrestling logic. I think it was a little odd that the referee showed no hesitation starting the match after Shadow had just been nailed with a steel chair, and didn't eject Roberts from ringside afterward! There was a career on the line. I just imagine it would've been handled a bit more... idk... Preciously? It took me a bit to get over that, but the match itself was good, as is the norm with Craven, and the aftermath was perfect. My only gripe is that I wish there had been some more build toward the announcement of Shadow's firing. Also, this may have been a missed opportunity to put Titan over huge, in a big program, but I don't know what the NBKs' long-term plans are. I am glad to be able to loosely work alongside Shadow in this program, and hopefully there's a brilliant payoff for the readers. The main event was written. I hope it was enjoyable. I loved writing it. If it isn't obvious by now, I love writing for Gates and Deli, and I think this is the first time I've been able to write them as opponents. I loved, LOVED the L1/Terry/Felipe dialogue in the post-match. TNS and Synndicate reached a boiling point, and with it being obvious that both parties were in the house, this was bound to happen. Felipe's attempt to get them to sign a treaty, only to devolve into both factions going at each others' throats (without L1 or Marv having to initiate it this time) shows evolution in the group, and shows where the focus may shift after TFTB. I had very little to do with the action in this, and I'm flattered/honored that both World Champions came to the League and asked to use them in an important segment, so for that, I thank you, and I personally loved reading it. I'm biased. Oh well. Overall, it was a solid go-home show. The tournament got focus, the OD title match got focus, and HOPEFULLY we see Gooch vs Knox, or maybe even Gooch vs Iron Nightmare to take the Goochville stuff to the next level. Some things were unnecessary, and some things could've been done better, but it is what it is. I think this has been Overdrive's best go-home show in months, and I look forward to TFTB.

Jennings, bro... If we're "not coming across as faces", you need to pay more attention to Havok. Gooch is really working Havok over, softening him up. Last weeks segment where he pulled my collar, the "non-violent" approach deal that Jeff and Havok talked about in my promo, etc... Havok is turning face. I'm just doing it slowly.
Figured everyone would have picked up on my slow but steady approach by now.

Opening the show with Gooch getting decimated was a slow starter. However that's not necessarily bad, it just can be dangerous for a show. It initially came off to a slow segment heavy show. Granted it rocked as it went along just saying this towed that line pretty close. Following it up with a second slow segment is why I say that. Jenny Knite came off like a whore (wordplay! lol ) Wasn't too big a fan of this segment, I like where the League is going but this didn't feel like that direction. Amy Zing's entrance is also long and slow, afterwards thought, the show picked up. The match was well written, Im a little surprised and disappointed that she was beaten with a basic move after throwing several finishing shots at him. Just seemed to undersell her a little. Knox's next segment was kind of a bummer. He let loose some mighty strong words for Havok. The result later in the night kind of nullified this. Also I agree should have been in his entrance. I had trouble with Jennings coming across as a face in that segment. My advice right now. You are all over the place pick one of the stories maybe two and drop the rest... for now. then once the first problems are handled you come back on a subject that's been festering and so on and so forth until a huge confrontation takes place. Biggs versus Rebel was a damn fine match. I will miss working Biggs on Overdrive. Im sorry I haven't had the chance to work with Rebel except in a worker/GM role. OCC best of luck sir I liked Biggs' follow up segment helps push the aspect of reality. I like that. Havok and Knox seemed a little like a let down. Not on their behalf but because of Knox's earlier segment. I think if Knox hadn't submitted that segment his character would have looked stronger tonight. League commercial/promo was something else. Im not really wanting suspense anymore I want to see action (ill get to that). Also with Gooch being attacked earlier it through me off at first. Next segment could have fixed the Havok/Knox thing. If it had been placed in front of their match. What do you'll think? Gooch and Jennings made Jennings look really strong but also made the League look weak. No one came to help their fellow stablemate? Second Jennings segment: Why the repetition in the middle? it felt disjointed. Then the segment went too over the top and lost me. Sorry Just think you should take the advice above. Its great you have all these ideas but don't force them out at once. Dear league members Enough with the suspense and pull the trigger already! Slade. Thank you for what you wrote bro. I very much enjoyed the read. And the commentary is what sold this match. I understand NBK are faces and the way it was explained helped keep that angle for them. Again special thanks to T Marv for the send off match. Big win for Gates! Delikado is tough as nails. The match had great flow. Personally I think it's better that there are fewer League members in T4tB. But never mind that, lets talk aftermath. I like the finish yes but two problems. Felipe Delorean came dead set to unite the Sindicate. He should have. It would have sold the League a little more and greatly pushed the heels. Next qualm was the sneaking entrance. There's no way they could sneak in without the crowd giving them away. I think from all directions would have worked a little better. Nevertheless, they finally pulled the trigger. And hit the mark too. Nicely done. Good push for the League before the PPV. Good heat for the Sindicate. Aftershow. I liked being the final segment made me feel kind of cool. Thank you.
