The scene opens up inside of Jaces office The fish pond that was once there, when this was his father's office is no longer there. Instead it's been replaced by a lounging area with a t.v, and couches. The bar stil sits in the other cornor. The hole that was put in the wall, and the door that was smashed through by Foul Play has been replaced by a set of double doors. The desk and chair in the office that was once his father's is still the same. It sits where it always has, shining like a trophy. Jace is sitting in the chair talking on the phone.
Jace:That's right Bridgette I want all of the security officers sent up to my office....Yes I know that will leave no other security for the building....Good send them up.
Jace sits back in his chair, and lights a hand rolled American made cigar. About five minutes later there's thunderous sounding footsteps in the hall, and there is a knock on the door. Thirty-five security guards walk in. They surround the room almost to it's entirity.
Jace: I have taken over this company from my father, and since you have all worked for him, and are loyal to him. Your all fired. Have a good day gentelmen. Your replacements are already here, so dont try anything stupid.
All of the security guards look at one another in shock that they were all relieved from duty. They make their exit out of the office with their thunderous footsteps resinating through out the halls. A few moments later Jace's dad Jason walks in through the double doors. He is wearing a Armani suit and carrying a brief case. Jason looks around, and notices the changes to the office. He walks over to his one time desk, and sits in the chair in fron of it. Jace smiles at his father. This time with much more confidence then he has ever shown before, he stares at his father
Jace: You brought the paperwork, I assume.
Jace reaches into the hand carved Red Wood cigar box. He puuls out two cigars, and places one at the edge of the desk for his father. Jace strikes a match, and holds it to the end of the cigar until the end is a fiery cherry. Jason looks at Jace in amusement, and picks up the cigar. He pulls out his gold zippo lighter, and lights the cigar blowing out a thick screen of smoke. He puts his lighter away.
Jason: I did. You don't think that your going to get away with this do you?
The two men stare at one another for a few minutes. Jason has a straight face, one that would put a poker player to shame. Jace stares back at his dad, enjoying every moment of what he's doing. Jace lets a slight smmile crack at the cornor ofhis mouth.
Jace: I have already won father. See, I did learn something from you. Except, I'm not a bastard like you. All of my life all I ever wanted was for you to respect me. Do I have it now? Well, I can careless. I've outgrown you. All those beatings you gave me has just made me stronger. I'm not scared anymore. I'm not giving in to you, or anyone not now, nor ever again.
Jace stands up from his chair, and walks over to the bar. He pulls out two glasses, and fills them half way up with ice. He grabs the most expensive bottle of whiskey. It's a bottle of 64-year-old Macallan, the oldest whisky ever bottled by the Macallan distillery, totaling $460,000. Jason looks at Jace in disbeliefe, as he opens the bottle and pours it into the glasses.
Jason: You've just opened the most expensive whiskey I own! You think you've won the war you little shit? Just like you think you've already won Test For The Best huh? Let me tell you something, you haven't won anything not with me, or in APW!
Jason is now pissed off, and it can visualy be seen in his face. Jace remains calm with a smile on his face. He corks the bottle, and sets it down. Jace grabs both glasses, walks over to his father, and hands him one. He walks back to his seat and sits. He takes a drink from the glass.
Jace: Damn that's good! I have won. I see I'm sitting in you chair, and the office that was once yours. I'm about to own your company, as soon as you sign those papers. Come Test For The Best I'm not foolish enough anymore to think I can walk in there and take it. There's a lot of talent in this tournament. People like A.C Smith, AJP, Nathanial Havok, Robina Hood, Jair Hopkins, Christian Kane, C.J Gates, Biggs, and Logan Alexander all who have made a name for themself in one way, or another.
Then you have me, the ultimate underdog in APW , and in this tournament. I have only been around 3 months, and yet slowly I'm making my way to the top. I have fought to where I am now, and I'll keep fighting until I reach the top. I am a fighter. I've been fighting you all of my life, and I've been fighting to find the person I am. I can tell you this, I may be the underdog, but I'm going to fight my way to the Asylum Championship, then I'm going to fight Terry Marvin. I'm take that championship, and wrap it hold it high above my head. I want all to see that I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere.
Jason takes a sip from his glass, mad Jace opened the bottle, but it's opened now so he might as well enjoy it. He sets the glass down on the end table next to the chair he is sitting in. Jason takes a drag off his cigar before he speaks, he exhales it towards Jace's direction
Jason: You may be sitting in my chair, and office, but like your luck it's coming to an end. Do you really think you have what it takes to win this tournament? Do you think they are going to let a rookie fresh from diapers come in, and take what they have worked so hard for? You arrogant f*ck! I will take back what's mine.
Jace remaining calm at is father's insults, takes a drag from the cigar, and a drink from his glass. He sits idoly for a second thinking of what to say next.
Jace: I don't think anything dad. I'm going to go in there, and give it everything I have. It may be enough or it may not be, but by the end of it,everyone will know Jace Savage isn't someone to kick around. People have tried to hold me down all my life, and I'm not going to let it happen again. I hold myself up, I wil keep myself up.
Jason begins to chuckle at Jace's comments. He too takes a drink from his glass, and a long hit from his cigar.
Jason: You still don't get it do you? Your wet behind the ears. All of these people have been in this game long enough to know how to handle themself. Your still a kid trying to fight grown men wake up, and realize you don't have a shot. Your completely incompatent you slimy sh!t. I thought I might of beat some brains into you, but looks like I beat them out of your stupid a$$.
Jace conitinues sitting in his chair unphased by his father's comment. He knows if he lets his father get to him he will lose this exchange, and it pisses his dad off that he can't get a reaction out of Jace.
Jace: You've been telling me that all my life. You go so far in your disbeliefe in me you bribe my way through life. No more, at Test For The Best I stand on my own to feet. I will rise to the occassion and I will lay it all on the line.
Jason smiles, and sips from his glass
Jason: Like you did with Niobe and Knox? As I recall they got the best of you last week, and the weeks before. You just don't have it in you son. You don't have the heart to do what it takes to win.
Jace looking at his father with disgust now. The first visible reaction to his comments. Jace changes his expression to a smile to meet his father's gaze.
[/b][/i][/center]Jace: You mean cheat? No I won't cheat. I will do things the right way, and when I win it will be all that much satisfying. You, Terry Marvin, and the rest of APW will not bring me down. I can win this. I believe in myself when nobody else will.
Jason loooks at Jace with the hardest look he has ever given him. His eyes are burning a whole through Jace, trying to stare him down.
Jason:Nobody believes in you because you've given them nothing to believe in. You must force them to believe in you.
Jace with a stern look of his own to show his father he isn't getting to him.
Jace: My dedication, skill, and heart will prove you all wrong. There isn't anything I can't do when I put my mind to it.
This time Jason starts laughing, not just a chuckle, but full blown laughter at his son.
Jason: Your mind? You think that's going to get you to win is your mind? Dear boy I thought you were naive, but really your foolish to believe that your beliefe in yourself will be enough. How f*cking stupid can you be!?
Jace now looking annoyed, takes a drink from his glass, and a LONG drag off his cigar, and blows it into the direction of his father's face, as a immediate insult.
Jace: Every great fighter has a plan before the fight.
Jason waving away the smoke, and taking a deep angry breath.
Jason: Until he gets hit in the mouth then his plan goes out of the window. You need to take every advantage you can to win. There is no fair in fight boy. Your going to get your a$$ kicked son.You sack of shit!
Jace:No I won't get my ass kicked you f*cking d!ck, but honor is in the person fighting, and when you have it anything is possible.
Jason:Honor? Your talking about honor? Honor has nothing to do with it. It's not honor you need. It's a pair of balls to take what you want. How do you not understand that yet?
Jace and his father sit starring at ech other for a minute, niether of them blinking or averting their eyes.
Jace: You mean like you? Let's get something straight old man. I'm not you, nor will I ever be. I like to do things the right way, I'm not into doing dirty business. Nobody in this tournament has done me wrong, not yet anyways, so I will compete fairly.
Jace straightens himself in his chair, and takes another drink from his glass. Jason does the same.
Jason: Your going to sit there and tell me you think they are going to do the same? I mis-judged you, your not stupid. Your a F!cking moron. No wonder you can't win a match to save your life. How many have you won? Let's count them; Sampson once, the qualifying match. That's a total of two matches, and you think your going to win fairly?
Jace looks at Jason with a smug smile on his face.
Jace: I don't expect anything from anyone, especially from The New Sindicate. I expect their going to try and win at all cost. Well I have some news for them. It isn't going to happen like that. If any of them interfer or cheat against me I'm going to demand I get a automatic title shot, and them to be thrown out of the tournament. After all three are out of the tournament and I win, Terry Marvin will know my name as his next, number one contender.
Havok wants the title so bad he sees nothing else. Some may call that a positive thing, I call it a negative one. You see with Havok is a bit unstable, He may get so frustrated that he isn't winning, and snap just like that into his old self. He'll get disqualified, and that'll be the end of him. If Havok can keep his head on straight then he will be someone to worry about, and The League, I'm not expecting them to interfer at all I'm on good terms with Gooch, and their the good guys right?
Robina and I are going to have problems, if we meet in the tournament. She's is Sienna's lap dog, and there is nothing she would love more then to hurt me. I know Robina is going to come on strong, and she's not going down with out a fight. This is something I learned the hard way, but learn I did, and I won't make that mistake again.
She and I have unfinished business, and it's only about to get worse. I have plans in the making to take on Sienna, Robina, and anyone else who wants to fly under Sienna's flag. For these people I will show no remorse. They are exactly like you father. They hurt people, abuse their power to get what they want, and do as they pease, at the expense of other people. They are everything I hate about you, and everyone who is like you. There is a new generstion rising, and I'm at sitting in the Captain's chair.
Meltdown will be free from Sienna's clutches, and everyone underneth her is going to pay the price. It's going to take some time, and I'm going to need some friends, but trust me it's coming.
Jace takes a long drag of his cigar until the tip is bright ellow and fiery orange. He exhales the thick smoke into the air.. He ralaxes a bit, and re-adjusts himself. He pauses for another moment to take a sip from his glass, now empty. He stands up, and walks back over to the bar, this time pouring a drink from a differnt bottle then the one before.
Jace: You've got me so distracted I've forgotten a few people in the tournament. You know Biggs at one time, I've come to understand, that was once considered the underdog in APW. That is until he beat Level-One. Now by many, I considered the underdog. Like Biggs I will rise to the occassion, and make everyone realize I mean business. Biggs never stopped showing people he means business, and niether do. Once I win at Test For The Best, I'll chalenge T-Marv for the Asylum Title. I'll make Marve realize like Biggs made Level-One, that he can be beaten, and it's the underdog who's coming out on top.
Biggs is a great athlete and competitor, however if I must face Biggs I hope he doesn't underestimate me. I'm sure our match would be match of the night. I would let Biggs have everything I got, and hope to come out on top. It's a big deal for a rookie just signed to Meltdown to be put in the position I'm in. Already I've been given a North American title shot, even though I failed to capture. I was placed in a qualifying match for this tournament. I beat out five other people to get to where I'm at. Now everyone looks at me, and asks how is someone so new going to win this tournament.
Just like C.J Gates says "Go Big or Go Home", and come time at Test For The Best I don't plan on going home, so I'm going BIG. Gates at one point in time dominated the APW. He walked around with his head held high as the poster boy of APW. Now he just walks around wondering what happend to him. Well I believe Gates has found himself once again, and he to is going to go BIG, I believe that man is going to bring everything he's got, and that's a going to be a lot, for anyone to handle in this tournament.
Another man seeking redemption is Jair Hopkins,, He became depressed. took some pill trying to kill himself. He bounced back from that, and I think that experience made him realize he didn't really want to die, and it lit a fire underneth that's going to be hard to put out. Hopkins has had a hard life, and it finally got to him. Unlike me who grew up in a differant way, but still hard non the less, I over came the things I've been through. I'll over come this, where Hopkins may fail to do so.
A.C Smith is a man who I have most in common with. Hatred for people like you father. He stands up for what's right as does what he needs to, when he has to, to get the job done. Smith is an honorable man, something you never could be, something I strive to be. If for no other reason then to see you, and everyone like you to burn.
Jace walks back to his desk, ad sits in his chair. He puts his glass on a cup holder, as to not mark up his desk. He sits back in his chair as he continues to speak.
Jace: Now enough about that. Your here for a reason. You have papers you, and I need to sign.
Jason looks irritated, as he pulls a stack of papers from his brief case. He lays them on the desk. He takes out a pen, and takes a few moments to sign the paper work
Jason: You won't get away with this for long. I will take back my company, you will lose everything, like your going to lose at Test For The Best.
Jace looks at his father with a lighter look then any other time they've been talking.
Jace: You know I wish, we could have shared these drinks under differant circumstances dad, but you've given me no otherchoice then to take what you have. All I ever wanted was your respect. Now I have everything that was once yours. Just like T-Marv after I win this tournament he doesn't show me respect, I'm going to take everything he has.
I'm going to prove to you father that I'm not worthless, and when I win the Title from Terry, everything you've ever said about me, will be crammed down your throat. I'm going to rove that without your kind of help, I can become champion on my own. When that day comes, and I'm standing in the ring with the title raised above my head, you will understand I've out grown you. You will understand I am my own man, and I will do as I please. Nothing is going to stop me
Jace takes a few moments to read over the paper work. He signs the papers, and put them away in his desk drawer. He looks at his father waiting for a response.
Jason:Under differant circumstances we could have had a drink together, but your worthless, I try to make a man out of you, and you turn your back on me. Your going to realize that was a mistake. I'm not done with you by far. Trust me, this is only a minor set back. You will pay for this little transgression. I will see to it. You better be looking over your shoulder. Son ir not you have made yourself my enemy, and I crush my enemies.
Jace looks a bit annoyed at his fathers last comments.
Jace: Well father I think you've worn out your welcome I would like you to leave please, before things get ugly. I wouldn't want to have to escort you out.
Without saying anything Jason puts his glass on the desk, and walks toward the door. He opens the double doors, and leaves the office. As Jason leaves Jace gets a phone call. He picks up the phone.
Jace: Hello?.......Yes Mr. Watts how are you? Good, good......So it's almost ready then? Awesome, I need you to work a bit faster, I would like to premier it before the Meltdown Super Show..........So it will be ready?......That's good news, if you get it done there's a nice bonus in it for you........Yeah, ok let me get a hold of the writters, and I'll see how long it's going to take to track them down......Yeah, I'll let you know........Ok, I'll talk to you in a litttle bit.......Bye.
Jace hangs up the phone just as there is a knock on his office door. Jace looks up at the door in surprise.
Jace: Come in.
Jace's girlfriend Sally Cambridge comes walking in. She is wearig a black skirt with a sparkeling sequance tank top shirt on. Her long brown hair is down. She walks over to Jace.
Sally: How did your meeting go with your dad?
Jace looks at her with a smile.
Jace: Pretty much the way I exected it. I thought I was going to meet you for lunch. Why did you come all the way here?
Sally: I figured I'de come see your new office, and maybe we could have lunch around here. Did you get the photos I sent?
Jace takes the final drink from his glass.
Jace: Yeah, They're good to. Thanks for connecting me with you photographer, I hope the boys didn't scare him to much.
Sally looks at Jace with a smile on her face.
Sally: They scared him a little bit. they're was one inpaticular that seemed like a raving lunitic. Anyways you prepared for your matches this coming sunday? It's a possibility you will be involved in three matches.
Jace:Yeah I know who your talking about, and I'm as prepared as I can be. It's pretty stiff competition. I'm just going to have to try my best. You ready to go get lunch? I'm hungry
Sally: Yeah, Lets go where to this time?
The scene fades as they continue talk.
