The scene opens as the theme song to Hooked In plays.
As the song ends, we cut to Ron Rufio standing in front of the Meltdown logo.
Ron Rufio: Welcome to another episode of Hooked In. I'm up to two now. Today, I'm going to start with Test for the Best. You see,
every year, APW holds a tournament where the winner gets to face the Champion in the main event of Shockwave. Who's the Champion going to be at Shockwave? We don't know yet. Now, I'm not here to predict who's going to win Test for the Best and I'm not here to predict who's going to win the Undisputed Championship Match
either. I am here to express my disappointment at not being in the match. I've always wanted to compete in a Test for the Best but my first Test for the Best after signing, I'm not scheduled to compete. I know. I know. I signed up too late to be able to qualify. But
it's still disappointing. And, while I'm not competing at Test for the Best, I am going to be there. And I have a surprise for each and every one of you. Just wait.
Now, on to the real reason we're here. You see, I may not be competing at Test for the Best, but I am competing the very next night on Meltdown. And not just any Meltdown. It's going to be a Meltdown Supershow. And where am I on the card? Well, in the main event, of course. I'm excited. It's my first main event and it's only my second match with APW. But let's back up for a minute and talk about my first match with APW.
Now, on the June 17th episode of Meltdown, I lost to "The Evangelist" Jerry Matthews in a quick and decisive victory for Matthews. I wish I could look you people in the eyes and say, "He cheated. I should've won the match and all of you know it." The fact of the matter is, I can't. Matthews won fair and square. I don't like the guy. I don't like his attitude.
And I don't like his preachy nonsense. But I will always call a spade a spade. And, Jerry Matthews, I hope you're watching this, because I owe you a congratulations for winning our first match against each other. I say our first match against each other because on July 1st, at the Meltdown Supershow, we are on opposite sides. We are on two different teams and I have set my sights to win this time. So let's get to talking about that match, shall we?
You see, at the Meltdown Supershow, the main event is going to be an eight man tag team match. I will be teaming with Keaton Saint, Anthony Bailey, and Brian Hollywood and we will be taking on "The Evangelist" Jerry Matthews, The Unforgiven, and Asylum General Manager, Stefan Raab. I'm going to meticulously talk about each competitor in the match throughout the show. I'm going to start this "conversation" by talking about my team. First off, there's me. I am a hardcore son of a bitch that will keep on
coming at you. I will keep on keeping on until I wear you down and take you out. At
least, that's what I said before I lost to Jerry Matthews. That was when I learned that even I have limits. I'm willing to bet that nobody fears me after the beating I took on Meltdown. But underestimation is a great thing. You see, if you underestimate me, you will not expect what's coming. And I want each and every one of you to underestimate me.
Next, let's talk about Anthony Bailey. Anthony Bailey is a former APW Tap Out Champion. He's a former APW Tag Team Champion. And he's a former APW World Heavyweight Champion. Oh yeah. And he's also the current APW Tag Team Champion. He's only been with APW for a year and a half. That a lot of accolades for a year and a half. I guarantee you Anthony Bailey will bring it. The question is, can any of you break the promise?
Next up is Keaton Saint. Keaton Saint has been all over the wrestling world since his inception in 2008. However, the only
things relevant to APW are his battles with Kurt Noble, former APW Champion, Sally Talfourd, and current APW World Heavyweight Champion, and the man in the main event of Test for the Best willing to unify the World Heavyweight Championship with the Undisputed Championship, Level One. I sing Level One's praises because I want you to know how good he is before I remind you that Keaton Saint has beaten him. Level One has been at the top of APW since coming into the company in November of 2008 and Keaton Saint has beaten him. You need to be prepared because Keaton Saint is about to see better days.
Next up is Brian Hollywood. I don't know much about Brian Hollywood but what I do know is he began training to be a pro wrestler when he was...
Rufio gets a surprised look on his face and looks off camera.
Ron Rufio: Seven? Really?
A voice off camera confirms it.
Voice: Yes.
Seven. Really.
Ron Rufio: Hear that? Brian Hollywood began training to be a pro wrestler at the age of seven. That tells me that he grew up in the game. He's been doing longer than anyone else in APW from that alone. He's also a part of the team that gave Unforgiven their first loss in APW. Something tells me that Brian Hollywood is not going to be a cake walk. With help from the rest of the team, Brian Hollywood is going to break all four of you. And I'm sure he'll make that an Executive Promise.
Now that I've told you why my team is going to win, let me talk about your team. First up is Asylum General Manager, Stefan Raab. Stefan, you are pretty impressive in the ring. I have seen what you can do. And it can be devastating. However, in your time in APW, which was around Shockwave, if I'm correct, you have never held a title. That's almost a year in APW and you've never held a title. Not only that, but since you've
been on Asylum, you've only gotten one shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and it wasn't earned. You declared yourself the #1 Contender when you became the Asylum General Manager. And you lost. I'm not taking anything away from Terry Marvin here. He is "The Real Show" and a great competitor. But it seems like the Asylum General Manager would be able to pull some strings and win the Championship. But you couldn't even win a Championship when the deck is stacked in your favor. Stefan Raab, the biggest thing you bring to APW is losses. And this week's Meltdown Supershow is going to be no different.
Now, let's talk about Sentinel. You fancy yourself "The Silent Destroyer." You don't talk. Hell, I'm not sure you even know how to talk. And you seem to destroy nouns. That is people, places, and things, for the uninitiated.I'm not going to deny the fact that you are very good at destroying people, Sentinel. But you've never come against me. I will not be destroyed. I will not be defeated. And I will not be denied. On Monday, you will not end me. I will, instead, end you.
Next up is Zachariah Blood. Blood, you call yourself a "Masochist." That's all well and good. In fact, it's just going to make my job more fun. Despite common belief, I am not a masochist. What I am, however, is someone that won't back down, won't quit, and won't give in to pain. Blood, even a Masochist will eventually reach the end of his threshold for pain. I'm going to have a lot of fun finding that end. Welcome to my pain.
And these two are a tag team? They are The Unforgiven. Guys, I don't want you to forgive me. I just want you to lose. And you will. Just like you lost on June 17th. The Unforgiven is going to go from an undefeated streak to a losing streak, even if it's only two matches. And that's a promise.
And, finally, we have Jerry Matthews. What can I say to you, Mr. Matthews, that I haven't already said? You call yourself an "Evangelist" but, instead of evangelizing, you just insult people and beat them up. Don't worry. I'm done spouting Bible verses at you. They fall on deaf ears anyway. And I'm done congratulating you for your win on the 17th. I did that earlier in the show. And you probably will be North American Champion sometime soon, if Sienna Harrison has anything to say about it. I may have been hired due to family favors. But President Jeff doesn't like me. Neither does Sienna Harrison. You want to talk about me getting hired because President Jeff knows my uncle? You will probably receive title shot after title shot because Sienna Harrison has fallen for your cult teachings. But that doesn't mean you can beat me again. Even if you lose at the Meltdown Supershow, you will still get that North American Championship Match Sienna Harrison has in
her mind. But I'm going to make sure you lose anyway. And it's going to be fun hearing you take your God's name in vain because you just can't take anymore. And I will hurt you. I will hurt you in the name of Rufio. Thanks be to Ron.
So you see, there is a lot of great talent in this match. There's great talent on both sides. But one team just barely edges out the competition. And that's my team. Have a nice couple of days. because the Meltdown Supershow is going to be the worst day of your lives. All of you.
Ron Rufio gets a toothless grin as the scene fades to black.
