In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3: One Among the Fence
In the seventh turning hour…
Will the victims shadow fall?
Should the irony grow hungry…
With victory and all they sought for?
We were one among the fence…
…one among the fence
I didn’t want to be the Source any longer, that’s why I had made these plans. Tralon… The former Source of all Evil, until I killed him and took the throne for myself. Yurm, a wizard. Hell-bent on resurrecting his people, due to his kind facing possible extinction. Resurrection which could only be done by possessing the powers of the Source. It was my escape route, I was done being the leader of an Underworld that was far from saving. Without my leadership and guidance, the Underworld had become a battleground for evil to face off against evil. They were killing each other, and not the enemy. They were fighting to take my throne, believing that I was dead and gone.
Needless to say, in my absence, good had triumphed over evil without even going to war. Then, I once again made my presence known. The “other side” thought that it was a whole different ball game. I needed time away, time to recharge the batteries in all aspects of my life. I had lost my job with APW, I had pretty much lost control of the Underworld thanks to Barbus, and to save my own sanity, I just needed a break. Bad idea, with even worse results in the end.
What was I to do? There wasn’t a thing I could think of that would actually pull the Underworld out of the slump my actions had placed it in. So instead of taking the blame, I decided to put my finest demons to work, picking off the opposition one by one. But instead of killing witches, they were killing their own kind. It was a plan that I thought would work to perfection. With no one to oppose me, I would recruit the darkest souls on earth, recycling powers, and giving them to mortals in exchange for a lifetime of loyalty to the Source. Problem was, we had a rat. The Charmed Ones quickly caught on to my plan. Another plan out the window, another rat to seek and destroy.
It wasn’t that I couldn’t handle it, I just didn’t want to. I had so much going for me on earth, so many options to live a fruitful life, out of the demonic eye of the Underworld. Who wouldn’t take a chance to be normal again? Cole snapped me out of it. Once the League was gone, I had nothing left.
…that is, until I found out about the Cypress.
Not a dimension, not even another realm… The Cypress in itself is a planet. Not too far away from the earths galaxy, laid a planet for the taking. An existence undetectable by the human race, a civilization in need of guidance. This is it, this is where the plan continues. They look just like us! Walking, talking, breathing oxygen, expelling carbon monoxide… I was astonished! There are human beings just like us, residing on another planet, in another galaxy! Impressionable to say the very least, just like the human race on planet earth. It wasn’t too long until I realized that these people were my puppets. I could tell them anything, and they’d believe it. To the people of the Cypress, Nathaniel Havok is a God!
….only if they knew the truth.
Not even a week ago, we only had a few. They were strong, willing to do my bidding, and ready for a change in their stagnant lives. Excited to learn about a life form living on another planet other than the Cypress, they welcomed my “change” with open arms. They had never heard of such a thing, never thought that it even existed, much like us. They knew nothing of our planet, realms, good, or evil. An impressionable bunch, all willing to believe me when I told them that the good guys of earth, were actually the bad guys. They had no clue, and it was just as easy as taking candy from a baby.
With a new plan in the works, with freedom from Evan Envi and the League… I knew that I had found a new lease on life. This time, it was going to be done under my watch, my leadership and guidance, MY RULES! I was no longer stepping down as the Source of all Evil. Instead, I was starting a new chapter. A chapter that will give the Underworld a fighting chance. A chapter where the Underworld no longer looks back at history, as history died with the majority of demons that had been vanquished under my orders. This time, I get to be the one and only, the leader that they’ve all worshiped since day number one!
All I really need, is an Underworld under one rule, MY rule. An Underworld not bent on destruction. Rather, an Underworld that understands their place in the fold. They have a job, and they do it without hesitation. An Underworld that understands my motivation, goals, and the task at hand. It seemed like in the past, an underlying agenda was entwined into everything we did. Everyone had an individual goal, much like my involvement on earth in the League. That’s just something I didn’t want, nor did I need. Everything is to be done with a common goal in mind. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing in between. It was to be done, because I said it was to be done. Much like wrestling, the Underworld had its fair share of politics and favoritism… All of which I have now abolished.
While others look at me in disgust, wondering why I would kill my own people… Others understood. Those who opposed, were taken out and vanquished. That was my call, it’s still my call. Furthermore, it’s my call to ensure the expansion of MY Underworld, as the Source has always taken great pride in advancing into other realms. To completely ignore the calling and forget what we’ve done would be absolutely insane. Why be the Source, if the Source isn’t working to advance? Believe it or not, I do answer to a higher power. Only, the higher power I answer to, is not good or evil. A group of four… Two good, two evil, all working together to ensure the balance of power stays on equal footing.
They have no say-so if the battle is won or lost, but they do maintain a common thinking in that all work must be done on both sides. Good cannot lay down to evil, and evil must not lay down to good. That being said, if they ever felt a change was needed on either side, they could easily take out the Elders, or the Source. That would be a fate that no one would come back from, nor could they endure. Lying down was not an option, and that’s why the Cypress is so vital to my plan. Once the water had been tested in the Cypress, plan Codename: The New Reign was in full effect.
It’s going to take time, a lot of time. We’re not exactly going to jump into the pool without testing the waters of earth and all of its realms, are we? Slow and steady wins the race, and we won’t be dying in any fires! WE ARE THE FIRE… We are the Underworld, united under a new reign. While some faces are new, the rule stays the same. Only this time, I write history. This time, I right the wrongs done before my reign. At the same time, I right the wrongs done UNDER my reign. The New Reign has arrived in the Underworld. Now… It’s only a matter of time until the New Reign reaches earth, and more importantly, Action Packed Wrestling.
The only thing left to do, is work. Time to continue the recruiting process, by taking our ships…

Havok: Suits, jackets, ties, I had done it all before. It started for me, with the Cult of Personality. With the financial backing of Chaz Dillinger, I changed my appearance to show the world the lifestyle that I had built for myself. But you Evan Envi, you took it a step further. I agreed with you. It was an amazing idea, turning the League into not only a group with a common goal, but a group of guys who enjoyed the finer things in life, just to prove that we were better than everybody else. It was done to prove a point, at least I thought. I went into it with the idea that we were doing it, to show the world what you could have, if you worked as hard as the four of us had worked.
We didn’t just talk the talk, but thanks to you and your vision, we walked the walk. For years, my wardrobe consisted of what my personality was feeling at the time. And to be honest, I love the new me. No hair dye, no painted fingernails, no odd looks from passerbyers … All of that, out the window. You changed me, Evan. You saw my talent, you “liked” my idea of the League, and wanted to “help” me get myself back to the level I had once been at. You did indeed do all of these things, but you did them while fooling myself and others in the process. Evan, you never supported me. You never wanted to help me. You changed my image to better fit you and your style. You stole my idea for the League, and attempted to make me and others, play second fiddle to “The King”.
It didn’t take me too long to find out that you were a greedy bitch in friendly clothing, no pun intended.
Once I realized what you were doing, you and I had a little chat. You didn’t like the chat, you didn’t like the fact that Nathaniel Havok was coming to you as a man and demanding answers. So what did you do? You stormed off, left the arena, and I didn’t hear from you at all. No big deal, I’m not your girlfriend. BUT… When I got a call from President Jeff, when he informed me that you had given your notice… I couldn’t help but laugh, while being outraged at the same time.
So what is it, Evan Envi? You going to take your ball and go home, sign with another promotion, and take the Overdrive Championship with you? No, that’s not going to happen. I live and die for APW, Action Packed Wrestling is Nathaniel Havok, and Nathaniel Havok is Action Packed Wrestling. I’ll be GOD DAMNED, if you’re going to take that title someplace else, making APW look like a bunch of fools! Making yourself look like the best that APW has ever had, and now you’re taking the title somewhere else to prove it! No, not in a million years! I’ll give you credit, you’ve given that title a lot of prestige… But I’m not going to let you kill the damn title, that won’t happen, unless I’m not breathing anymore.
I believed in you, Evan. You told me that we shared a common goal, a belief that we could make things better for APW. We were united! We became a foursome of brothers, willing to put our lives on the line for one another. We even walked out to the ring, right in the face of probably the most dominant faction that APW has ever seen, and we took it straight to them! We took it straight to the Syndicate, and looked as dominant as they ever had! Especially in their divided state, we took it to ALL of them! Leaving them helpless, hopeless, and fearing the League. Leaving them to wonder what we were going to do next. Leaving them to wonder if even they could ever stop us! It felt good, I’ll openly admit that. You can take all the credit in the world for that idea, and rightfully so. You wanted us to make a statement, and we did!
We were on top of the world! Unstoppable at that point, quickly becoming the faction that everyone feared! We were to the point of utter dominance, those around us were afraid to be our next victim. Nobody wanted to cross our paths, in fear of what we might do to them. And trust me, everyone knew what we were capable of doing to them! It all started with that night we dominated the Syndicate. But let’s be honest. For once in your life, be a man, and tell the truth! We didn't do that for the betterment of the sport, did we? We didn't do that to prove another point, did we? Hell, we didn't even do that to escalate the League of Extraordinary Wrestlers, did we Evan?
We did it, to feed your ego. We did it, so you could look Level-One in the face, steal my thunder, and tell him that it was you who orchestrated the entire ordeal, didn't we? I'm not blind anymore, Evan. I know now what you were trying to do, because the boys and girls in the locker room, they talk. Furthermore, word gets around. Once I knew what you were doing, I knew what I had to do. I knew that Nathaniel Havok needed to put Mr. Evan Envi in his place, and show him that he wasn't as good as he thought, wasn't as smart as he thought, and wasn't going to get away with what he had planned. I thought that only kids ran away in the face of adversity... But apparently grown men can do that as well. Then again, maybe you are still a little kid.
We'll see on Thursday night, won't we? After Nathaniel Havok is done laying the boots to Evan Envi, after I'm done stealing the Overdrive Championship right out from under your face, are you going to man up? Or are you going to need somebody to kiss the "boo boo's" for you? Evan, I'm going to beat the breaks off of you. I'm going to kick your ass, take that title, and send you packing. No rematch for you, little man. You've already signed your release papers, and there's nothing you're going to be able to do about it!
But what happens to the League? What happens to this "in its place" talk that I've been speaking about? Well, that's for another time and place, Evan. You see, you know better than anybody, just like I told Hurricane Jeff, I've always got another plan. And when I found out that Evan Harrison was showing his true colors, all I had to do was make a phone call. Now, new plans are in motion, and they don't include you! Hell, they don't even include anybody IN the League! The League is dead and buried, and that's where it will stay! It's time for a new reign, starting with the Enforcer of Sorrow, taking the Overdrive Championship!
Now, here’s where things get good, Evan. Here’s where things get interesting, and makes the fans want to tune in even more. It’s not only us, Evan. Rather than the two of us getting into the ring and squaring off one on one… There’s another man in this match. A man who has proven to be a very dominant in-ring competitor, and believes the he could very-well be the next Overdrive Champion. Man, Evan… It must suck to be you! I wouldn’t wish this kind of fate on even my worst enemy! Because not only do I want to kick your ass and take your title, but so does this another man. It really sucks to be you, because you’re getting both of us in the same match!
Tommy Knox… Good old Tommy Knoxville… A man who has done so much for himself in this business, even over the past couple of months. A man who has been the only believer in himself for some time, yet continues to defy the odds. I’ve got to give it to you, Tommy… I once told you that you were Jason Kash’s lackey, that being buddies with Kash, would ensure that you never made it in this business. You’ve proven me wrong, and you belong in the Overdrive Championship picture. You’re a hell of a talent, but you can’t hang with me.
June 13, New Orleans… Do you remember that day? Not even a month ago, you stepped into the ring with the Enforcer of Sorrow, and you were knocked out of the Test for the Best Tournament. While you put up one hell of a fight, I proved on that night that you couldn’t even lace my boots!
I’m not saying you’re a bad wrestler, because you’re not. I’m not saying you’re not talented, because you very much are. But what I am saying is that Nathaniel Havok is better. Better than you, better than Evan Envi, better than anybody that Action Packed Wrestling wants to throw at me! I’ve spent a lot of time dodging the “irrelevant” talk that goes on behind my back. I’ve spent a lot of time dodging the “past his prime” rumblings that go on backstage. You’re a part of that, Tommy. I know you think that Nathaniel Havok has been at his best, and has lost it.
Tommy, no offense… But you’re just like Michael Jennings. The guy is going around bitching that Nathaniel Havok is politicking, getting his way by complaining. When, he’s just trying to turn his own doings around.
Now, how does that compare to you? It’s simple… While you talk behind my back, give me very weak props to my face, you’re only saying things that pertain to yourself, and not me. You take credit for the League imploding, when you know it’s not true. Lies, just like Jennings… ALL LIES! You can tell the world what you want, because I know, and have exposed the truth. This has nothing to do with a mid-card wrestling breaking up the League… We’ve beaten down competitors TEN TIMES as good as Tommy Knoxville!
You’re making a fool of yourself. Anyone with half a brain is laughing at you, because they know you’re trying to overhype yourself!
And if they weren’t laughing at you yet, when you told them you’re better than me, they were definitely laughing after that! How can you claim to be better than a man that beat you not even a month ago? What have you done since? Are you a former World Champion? Have you been making APW history for three years now, like myself? So tell me, Knox… How in the hell do you back up that statement? By telling the world you’re going to take the easy way out, and let Evan and I beat the hell out of each other?
Yeah, sounds like a damn-good choice for champion, to me.
All sarcasm aside, Tommy… It’s time for you to realize something. It’s time for you to learn that nobody respects you because you wear a “cut”. Nobody fears your little gang of hoodlums, and nobody takes grown men on tricycles seriously! Leave your cut, as well as your ego at the door, Mr. Knoxville! Continue to talk a big game, and I’ll shove that cut straight up your ass, the way you’d like it! I don’t fear you, nobody does! I don’t fear your wannabe biker gang, either! Bring your bikers to the Underworld, and see how quickly they turn into little girls! You and your gang of rejects… Instead of buying booze and hookers… Should probably invest in a bar of soap, and a little shampoo!
But don’t drop it, Tommy! Don’t drop that bar of soap! You might get more than you bargained for, in the showers with your tricycle gang!
It’s also obvious to me, that you’re delusional. I’ve not said a single thing about another faction, have I? Hell, the League wasn’t even a faction, so get your damn story straight! Once again, making the people laugh with your uneducated GUESSES, as well as your mouth spewing diarrhea! I don’t know if you drink all the time, smoke the wacky tabacy… Or what… But what I do know is, you really need to listen to yourself sober sometime. You need to see how foolish you sound. They’re not laughing WITH you, Knox… They’re laughing AT you.
And you don’t need a title to make yourself feel good? Yeah, you’re right! Good for you! BUT… If you ever want to consider yourself a success in this business, you’re going to need a title or two. You’re going to need that Overdrive Championship, the only championship on Overdrive that I have never possessed! Can you say the same thing, Knoxville? No, I didn’t think so. The sad truth is, you’re not even going to be able to say it, past this Thursday night! It’s not going to be you that walks out of Overdrive with that gold around your waist, it’s going to be me!
I need no more validation, Knox. You on the other hand, you need all the validation that you can get your hands on! Why? Because up until this point, you haven’t had that “moment” in your career. That defining moment, that guarantees your stardom to skyrocket! Nathaniel Havok is a household name within the ranks of professional wrestling. Tommy Knox, his name is most famous for ripping off gimmicks done by other promotions, much like Michael Jennings. And to be in the same class as Michael Jennings… Well, that’s just a fate worse than losing to Nathaniel Havok twice in a row! WHICH, you’re going to do Thursday Night.
Heavy is the head that wears the crown? Too bad there’s only one queen around here, Knox. And trust me, I’m going to make Queen Evni my bitch, much like you’re going to be as well! I need no crown, Knox. I need no crown, no validation, no titles. BUT… I WANT THAT TITLE! With a new outlook, with a new lease on life, I need nothing of the sorts. Now, I’m just out to have fun. I’m out to win more titles, to continue to build my legacy at the expense of people like yourself, and to prove that Nathaniel Havok is indeed the Man with the Show on His Shoulders!
Believe it or not, you’re more in this match than Evan Envi is. The way I see it, one of us is walking out as the APW Overdrive Champion. Knoxville, it’s going to be me. To win that championship, will make Nathaniel Havok a grandslam champion! Two time Xtreme Champion, one time World Heavyweight Champion, and after Thursday night, your new APW Overdrive Champion…
…The Enforcer of Sorrow, Nathaniel Havok.
See you there, see you when the New Reign begins!
[The scene fades.]
