I've been waiting a
lifetime to show you
You're returning to heaven like dust to dust
Been waiting forever to witness your fading
Like ashes to ashes
One day we'll dance on fragile skin
Why dull the shyness I suffer in vain
The greatest scars remain within
Leaving you now with a heart black as cardinal sin
Here this melody almost forgottenE

# Kamelot EAshes To Ashes
The night was young, stars just starting to twinkle in the sky. The moon hanging low, casting a bright light over the ground below. The sounds of the city could be heard, various traffic, honking horns, people talking or yelling, and stray animals making noises as well. Suddenly you could hear the sounds of footsteps pounding the pavement at a rapid pace, not just one set of footsteps but a pair of them. Whimpers and sobs could be heard from only one of them as the two ran down the sidewalk, one glancing over their shoulder to see if they were still being followed by whomever was chasing them.
Whomever it was was still going after them, chuckling evily as he continued to go after the pair. The other person glanced behind herself, eyes glaring through the pair of sunglasses she had on. Yes she was aware it was nighttime but it made her look cool and sexy and she wasn't about to change it for anyone. She kept a tight grip on the arm of her lovely companion, guiding them through the darkened streets as they tried to evade the asshole who was chasing them through it.
"He's going to catch us!"
"No he won't dammit, just keep running, we'll be fine."
The girl currently running with her nodded her head rapidly, panting and sobbing as she kept running with her savior. They kept ducking and weaving through alleyways, ever still trying to evade the third pair of footsteps belonging to the person that was chasing them at the moment. The chuckle raced through the air like lightning as the two girls were seeming to be cornered in an alleyway with a fence at their backs. The two stood there, panting and heaving as they tried to catch their breaths for a moment. The bad guy rounded the corner and stood there, slightly silhouetted by the moon and chuckled, thinking he had the two girls at his disposal. It wouldn't take very much to get them out of the picture. Lady N in the sunglasses turned to her companion and let go of her arm, nodding her head back at the fence in eagerness.
"Go on, and climb the fence. Keep running and I'll catch up with you!"
Her female companion hesitated for a second before nodding and climbing the fence behind her, whimpering and sobbing as she did. Lady N could hear her footsteps make contact on the other side and then the quick pitter patter as she ran off. Lady N turned to the assailant and grinned maliciously, shaking a finger at him as she picked up a discarded trash can lid and tossed it at him like a frizbee. It impacted with his mid-section, and he let out an oof of sound as he doubled over. Lady N grinned and jumped onto the fence, climbing over it and landing on the other side, trying to keep up with the woman she was trying to guide out of here.
She could hear the man run off, instead of climbing over the fence after her which the Lady found odd in itself. She shrugged and began to try and track down her mark, wherever that woman had ran off to.
The night seemed to drag on for hours and hours in Lady N's mind as she wound her way through the streets and alleys looking for her mark, but unable to find anything. Coming to a stop by a brick wall of an empty shop, she leaned against it and caught her breath for a few minutes, panting heavily as she gathered her thoughts. Then a
piercing scream lit the air and Lady N took off running in the direction she heard it. Her footsteps took her to a deserted alleyway again, by another closed shop as she found her nemesis standing there, hovering over the woman.
She quietly crept up on him, and the scene started to spin and warp rapidly like it was being run through the rinse cycle on a washer. Buildings meshed together, and the figures that were standing there all seemed to fall into one another. After a while, it suddenly stopped and you were now looking through the eyes of Lady N. The male assailant had suddenly disappeared, leaving Lady N with a wicked grin on her face as she tilted her head at her mark. Walking a few steps up to her until she was hovering over her, watching her cower against the fence, another face superimposing itself over hers, she chuckled.
The woman stared at her hard, wondering why and how this could all happen, watching Lady N tilt her head slightly to the other side, grinning as she opened her mouth to speak, the first words since they caught up with one another.
"There are no superhero's."
And the scene faded to black.
Niobe's eyes flickered open as she quickly sat up on the bench in her locker room, heart pounding as she glanced around, thinking she wasn't alone in there. That maybe Tommy had snuck in and decided to leave a surprise for her...or invite her into the showers that were located at the back of the room. She got up and looked just to be
sure, breathing a sigh of relief as she found herself to be the only one in that room to begin with. She ran a hand through her hair and let out a sigh, feeling the slight bit of paranoia leave her body finally. That had been a rather interesting dream she had had just then, lots of action and excitement, but the ending was very interesting to say the least. Maybe it had something to do with the fact she saw that new Man of Steel movie and her brain decided to warp into a twisted version of a superhero's story.
She had enjoyed the movie, it's just the concept of a superhero needing to save people, save the weaklings who couldn't even save themselves was laughable. It was the same thing echoing over into the APW, people who needed to be saved , people who were too weak to do anything for themselves. They needed to be saved by the high and
mighty superhero's, those who would get down and do anything for them like the bunch of damn puppets they were.
Niobe coughed and adjusted the pads on her elbows before making her way out of the locker room that she had inhabited for the past few minutes, dreaming of other things. A voice over could be heard as the camera followed her down the hallway.
"Finally, things have been set right and the powers that be have put me where I rightfully belong. Where I should of been this whole time had it not been for a few slight screw ups. On Overdrive alongside my boyfriend, the devilishly handsome Tommy Knox. We've been apart, brand wise, for far too long. Now the collective duo known as Iron Nightmare are back in business and can continue what we started on Meltdown.
The complete and total domination of the tag team division, and anything else we wish.
Facing off against Leon Roberts and Amy Zing, names I am familiar with because they came from the same spot that I did but have been here longer than I have. Talented people in the ring I must say but I do wonder if they can handle what I can bring.
Amy has had her troubles with Young Mannie for god knows how long. It seems like everytime you turned around those two were going at it like a couple of rabid dogs. I can liken the situation to myself and that purple haired bitch Robina Hood but on a grander scale. I so hope the two of you have put the fighting aside once and for all
so you can concentrate on bigger things, like me for instance. You may have been able to trade blows with Young Mannie himself but can you trade blows with me, a living walking Nightmare?
I've changed so much since we last met. No longer the same person you saw in the Meltdown lockerrooms way back when, but someone completely different. Getting together with Tommy changed my attitude about everything in more ways than one. It was a change that was necessary to evolve into what I am now. I was running on
stale gas, not doing anything worth anyone's time. But then Tommy walked in, and a literal change happened, one that shocked everyone.
I haven't had an easy time since walking through the doors here. I've had to fight in a men's dominated sport for my own spot, I've had to deal with that bitchy Sienna Harrison who hated me from square one and her pet bitch Robina who didn't like me either. I dealt with it and came out better than ever, and ready to prove to the world why I deserve to be at the top. If that club ever starts, we'd be the only members in it since...well you know.
I respect you a hell of a lot, and you me, but this match isn't about making friends, it's about making a statement.
Then there's that Leon Roberts, who I've also faced before and who had some rather choice words to say to me. What did you call me? Oh yeah, a STD infected whore? And the only reason you called me that is because I was sleeping with that 'scuzzwad' Tommy Knox. He's not a scuzzwad, mind you, he's mine and I bet he's a hell of a lot better in bed than you ever will be. I'd rather be touched by the devil than by you.
There's nothing holding me back, and me being with Tommy or sleeping with him has no effect on my abilities in the ring at all. Ever since I met him, things have changed. I have changed, as a person and as an in-ring performer. Haven't you been paying one bit of attention, you waste of space?! As far as Gooch goes, he got dumped on his ass where he belongs. He was only riding the coattails of Tommy's jacket to get anywhere. He was the weak link all along, which is why he got pushed aside because Tommy knew better. He saw better...in me.
The fans loved me, sure. I was gaining steam, sure. But you know what, they still love me and I'm still gaining steam. Nothing is being wasted here, not my potential or anything else. I'm utilizing my full potential more than ever, and I plan on starting with you in this match. I don't claim anything relevant from the past, only the claim that I am who I am and I'm not changing for no one.
I'm not naive, I'm fully aware of what I'm doing. I know what's best for me, for the first time. Being with Tommy has no effect on anything, and those who were associated with him in the past and failed...well...that's all on them. They were the weak link, not Tommy. You really need to get this little obsession with me and him out of your system. We have no room in our relationship for a third wheel.
I'm coming to the ring, and I'm going to take your advice and shove it up your ass where it belongs. I don't need your advice, or your help. I'm fine on my own. I'm out for your blood, and am going to do whatever I want to get it. Your days are numbered, boy. You may be the Virus but I am the Cure. It's time to be eradicated.
With the dying of one didn't mean the death of the Nightmare, it only signifies the end for everyone else on Overdrive.
It never stops.
