One Month Previous...
“I want you to remove all of this for me.”
Kaylyn stood there in a small shop, having just laid the suicidal title on the counter in front of the shop owner.
“That is a lot of jewels. Looks like someone really took their time to make it just right, are you sure you want to...”
Kaylyn slammed her hand down on the counter in front of her, before cutting him off.
“I want it all gone. No questions about it. Now, get it done. Clean it up nice, and I will be back once it's done.”
Kaylyn smiled before nodding and turning her back on him as she left.
Present Day; 11:00 hours...
Having not been able to make it to Over Drive, Kaylyn sat at home and watched as L-1 entered the ring, and her jaw dropped after hearing what he had to say. This couldn't be happening... not now. She had spent the week calling him, only to get no answer, and that was not sitting well with her at all.
“Got Damn it! I swear, if I don't hear from him by Asylum, I will head over there myself and knock some sense into him.”
Kaylyn had hung up her phone after getting no answer once more and opted not to bother leaving a message. Tucking her cell into her back pocket she went back to putting clothes in a bag so she could head out to catch the two hour flight to Alabama for Asylum.
“You need to stop worrying about it.”
“I know, I know. I need to worry about my match, but its hard to do.”
“Actually, I meant you need to worry about me more.”
Kaylyn shot her gaze over at her friend, Matt Stone.
“Stone, just no. You know Jason and I are trying to work things out, right...?”
“Oops, somehow I forgot... anyway, didn't you call me over after you guys fought and you kicked him out? You know, after he...”
“Don't do this. Not now. I have to pack and head to the airport. I have to get to Alabama before I am supposed to meet up with Jason.”
“You can catch another one... I mean, are you even sure he's waiting for you like he should?”
“Matt.. “
Kaylyn was about to retort but changed her mind.
“...thanks for dropping me off today.”
Present Day; 16:23...
“The longer I sit alone, the more I start to think, and lately.. I been thinking about the way people have been seeing me. Most sit there and say I am not a real champion. All I am doing is holding the title but nothing more. I have heard complaints saying that I need to show my face more, but why? I don't understand why holding a title means I have to expose myself to the media more then I already do. Why sit there and flaunt the title and the fact that I have it. Everyone knows I am the champion... there is no need to flaunt it in everyone's face.
Unlike previous champions.. I can sit back and enjoy my reign, without making it known that I have a title around my waist each and every week. When I step out to the ring.. the title is there, that should be enough. No, it's not though. Instead people want someone who is going to step in front of the camera and show off the belt every minute of every day. If that's what you're looking for... then I am not the champion for you.
I have restored the title to what it should be. No more jewels covering the belt. It's gone. The belt is a new all over again. Back to what it should be, and hopefully it will stay that way. Changing a title is not only a disgrace to the title.. but to the company as well. I will be damned if anyone expected me to hold onto a title that was not restored to its original form.
If people want to see me step up more, that is one thing. Stepping up in the ring I can do, and I have proved that time and time again... but stepping onto camera... I do so when it needs to happen, not just because I want to show off what I got.”
Kay leaned back in the seat she was occupying, and rested her head, closing her eyes for the briefest of moments before they were opened once more. Her gaze turned to the window, and she watched as the clouds passed by the plane.
“I guess that brings me to what is needing to happen now. I have a match coming up that I have prepared for all week, and now... the time has come to once more put my title on the line as I step into the ring against my opponent, this time... Mr. Enigma.
To say that I know of my opponent would be a lie. However, if he thinks for one second that anything he says or does will phase me... he has another thing coming to him. I have not made it to where I am in the business today by sitting there and letting people walk all over me. When pushed, I push back. I am a fighter and for a reason. I did not become the Suicide champion because of my good looks. I have not retained the title because I was weak.
I am a strong fucking competitor, and it doesn't matter who gets in my way.. I will continue to push through each and every person in my path. You might truly be an Enigma to me sir, but that doesn't mean I am not such to you. Believe me... once you think you have me all figured out, you realize that there are pieces to this puzzle that just are not fitting right. Ask Jason.. he knows more than anyone.”
That was beyond true. Every time Kaylyn thought everything was good again, things changed. This time.. it was her. Something she thought she wanted just wasn't what she needed anymore, or maybe the timing was off? Something just didn't fit anymore, and she had to figure out why. Before she could worry about her personal life, she needed to get things in order with her career, and what was going on within it.
“Anyway, this is about this week... this match... and YOU Mr. Enigma. You know... you, and MY title. The one you say means absolutely nothing, but you want so damn bad. Tell me.. why do you want it? Whats the point in fighting so hard for a title that means nothing? Let me guess... you just want it to say you were able to defeat me. Am I right? But why would you want to do that? What's the big deal about beating a shadow? That's how you see my right? A shadow? Please. You are nothing. No one. My name is known. It isn't known because I was a shadow in someone elses footsteps. I have made my presence known. Made everyone know what I was passionate about, and what I wouldn't fucking deal with... and twits like yourself.. are the type that I won't deal with.
You are not going to come onto Asylum... a show I have been working my ass off on, and try to make yourself known by putting me down. It's just not going to happen. You want to be known, be relevant... work your ass off like I did, and make it happen. This week... you will be known for having lost to The Perfect Ten. Don't worry, no one could really blame you. After all, most boys have issues focusing when they step into the ring with me. You get used to it in time.
You, just like everyone else, are underestimating me, and that will be one of your downfalls. That is what Parker did months ago when I first won the Suicide title from her. She had stepped into the ring with me many a time and felt she defeated me every time before, so that would be nothing different. I proved her wrong. I proved everyone wrong, and I proved to myself that I can defeat those who have destroyed me before. I have grown over the years, and will continue to do so. Month after month, while I'm not flaunting the title, I'm working my ass off getting stronger, smarter and faster. Trust me Enigma, it's going to show.
I have been working alongside the best, and because of that I have learned a thing or two in the process. Do you really think L-1 is the type to look my way and put me along side him if I had not been able to fight in the ring? Come on now, don't be stupid.”
Kay was silent as the plane landed, and gathered her things once they did before heading off the plane. Once off she walked outside and sighed contently as a breeze passed by.
“You know why this title goes well with me? Because I am the title. Suicide is my life. I have no worries when I step into the ring. It matters not who I am going up against. I have no problem putting my body on the line to make sure I walk away with the win. Weapons and I get along very well. I have put myself through so much abuse over the years that nothing you do to me in the ring could compare.
I grew up with three brothers pushing me around. I have harmed myself more times then I could care to remember. This is my life. I am immortal. I keep coming back no matter what anyone does to me.. This title was meant FOR ME... and I won't let anyone take it away from me. Just because I don't flaunt it, doesn't mean I don't want it. Anyone trying to walk away with the Suicide title... WILL be put through hell.
This isn't some game to me.. this is my fucking life. The sooner you realize how serious I am, the better. I said before that I didn't care about any titles, and at the time it was true... but now that I have one, I will not let it go so easily. You want a fight, and that is exactly what you will get. When I want something... I fight my heart out to get it. It doesn't matter what it is.
This week you will see that everything I say is true. I fight with a passion... I fight for a reason... and this time, its to keep my title. You see, you can run your mouth and talk shit all you want. Sit there and call me every name under the book, but when it's all said and done.. I am going to show you who the Bitch is in the ring.
You wanted to know if I have danced with the devil... I have, and it was quite the dance. Let me ask you something Mr. Enigma... Have you ever danced with a Perfect Ten? Oh wait, of course you haven't... No worries, I will remind you exactly why soon enough."
“I want you to remove all of this for me.”
Kaylyn stood there in a small shop, having just laid the suicidal title on the counter in front of the shop owner.
