Pacific Palisades, California
Afternoon…
It’s a gorgeous day in Pacific Palisades where Michael Jennings is hanging out at an outdoor restaurant with his friend and VWF wrestler Oliver Wendell Jones. The two of them have been in meetings with their mutual manager Robert Hamilton before he left to go have a meeting with Nathanial Havok. Jones and Jennings have been friends for a few months but the conversation hasn’t been about wrestling like normal. Instead it’s taken a turn to talk about Michael’s relationship with Reya Serra’s best friend and manager Paxar Vega. He seems to be more focused on that than his matches which is what started the conversation to begin with.
Jennings: I don’t know what’s happening to me…
Oliver looks a bit concerned with his friend.
Jones: What is it?
Michael thinks to himself for a moment before he sighs and responds.
Jennings: I’ve grown really attached to Paxar. I’ve never felt this way before about any women, even Catherine who admittedly was a little off her rocker.
Jones: I can tell you like her.
Just thinking about her makes Michael smile. She’s a definite calming presence in his life.
Jennings: I find myself wanting more and I know I shouldn’t.
He seems a but emotionally compromised because of his relationship with Paxar as well as his friendship with Reya.
Jennings: I’m going in a direction I never thought I’d be going in.
Oliver nods his head. He clearly gets where Michael is at with this since he’s been there himself a few times in his life.
Jones: Trust your feelings. You have feelings that you like to hide from people yet you ain’t fooling me, brother. You can’t hide your feelings for her. Everybody sees it and I think it’s showing people a new side of you.
Michael nods his head.
Jennings: Agreed.
Jones: So what was up with that Havok thing the other day?
A devious grin comes across Michael’s face upon hearing this. Yesterday Nathanial Havok blew up about Overdrive which caused a lot of drama in APW.
Jennings: What happened was APW exploded. Havok got angry and told it like it is. I found out today that he got suspended. However he did expose some lies around here and that needed to happen. Too much bullshit going on.
Oliver raises an eyebrow.
Jones: You mean in APW?
Michael nods his head.
Jennings: Oh yeah. Its turned into a corrupted political state much like dictatorships in foreign countries where the government controls everything through a cult of personality. That’s what has happened in APW. I think that the dissenters like myself are being targeted for speaking out about it. I’m a prime example of that as are The Black Hand and Stefan Raab. The rebellion isn’t going to win this war…
Oliver turns and gives him a look.
Jones: Who said anything about a war?
Jennings: No one did until now.
Oliver: Oh good. Though I was missing something.
Jennings: Don’t worry, my friend. All will not be lost…
He smiles at him before reaching over and grabbing his drink to have a sip of it as the scene fades to black.

The next night…
Michael is sitting in his living room talking on the phone with Nathanial Havok about his future plans when he gets a knock on the door. He gets up and goes over to open the door. Upon doing so he sees his manager Robert Hamilton. He lets him in before closing the door and locking it back up. He then tells Havok he’ll call him back before shutting off the phone.
Hamilton: Well I have good news.
Jennings: What news?
Hamilton: You’re going to be facing Rebel on Meltdown.
Jennings: Well that’s EXACTLY what I want. I wish I could wrestle C.J. Gates too at some point.
Hamilton: Why?
Jennings: Because that’s a match I’ve been wanting to have for a while now. That would be a classic. However I bet that match will never take place.
Hamilton: Why’s that?
Michael gives him a look.
Jennings: You know why.
Hamilton: I see your point.
Jennings: I could care less at this point. There’s just a lot happening all at once.
Hamilton scoffs at this comment.
Hamilton: LIES!
Michael smirks briefly before responding.
Jennings: MORE LIES!
Hamilton: LIES!
Jennings: MORE LIES!
They laugh about it as Hamilton pulls out some paperwork as it relates to an important endorsement deal he has gotten for Michael.
Jennings: Alright let’s talk some business.
Robert motions to the camera.
Hamilton: Get them out of here.
Michael quickly goes over and moves the camera man over to the front door. He opens the door and pushes him out before slamming the door before locking it behind him as the scene fades to black.

Afternoon…
Inside of the Mayan Nightclub Michael Jennings is out on a date with his girlfriend Paxar Vega who is getting another drink while he sits at their table with a smile on his face. He’s well dressed in a tailor made silver colored suit. He looks at the camera briefly before taking a sip from his drink before beginning to address the audience watching at home.
Jennings: The waiting is over, the time is at hand. The final Monday Night Meltdown is upon us and on this show I’m facing a man who I’ve been wanting to face for a long time. A man who is a legend in APW. A man by the name of Johnny Rebel.
A slight smile slowly creeps across his face as he continues his monologue.
Jennings: Rebel, you are a man that I respect in and out of the ring which is why I was very specific about wanting this match. However there are a few things going on here in APW that need to be addressed. Now last week I went off on a pipe bomb about this place and I’m going to go off on another one because of some of the bullshit that’s going on here in APW. Firstly we have the Overdrive Championship situation. What happened with that is a disgrace. I’m friends with the San Diego Seagulls tag team compromising of Kate Horton and Charles Scripps. Now if you go back and look up APW title histories you will see that Kate Horton left APW on January 1, 2012 and was an undefeated champion. Did she take the belt with her? NO! Did she do some overly dramatic Phil Brooks rip off bullshit? NO, she didn’t. She didn’t do any of that. The opposite of this egomaniac bullshit that that Envi pulled. That total disrespect is a slap in the face of every APW fan and wrestler. And to be frank bullshit like that is why APW is going straight down the toilet, fast.
The whole situation was disrespectful and add to it some of the things Nathanial Havok said this past week and frankly I’m siding with him and everybody else around here who’s against management. Guys like Stefan Raab, The Black Hand, and The Unforgiven. These are men who see this place for what it has become. A corrupt cesspool that is not the APW that I once knew back in 2011. Back then this place wasn’t filled with egomaniacal, arrogant scumbags like it is now. That’s the difference between now and then. There’s too many people who only care about control and being in power. And they will do anything to get their power. That is what has led to this place going to the state that it is in right now. A state where it’s original foundations have been twisted and distorted to the point where it’s a shell of what it once was. It’s like I’m in the Star Trek Mirror Universe by comparison to how it once was. That’s the sad part in all of this.
This is like the Fall of the House of Usher. That is why it is so sad for me to be around here. It’s like watching a once great dynasty slowly die before my eyes. In all honestly I’ve been watching this slow death when I first came back. It’s been a joke since I came back. Firstly we had all of this League, Synndicate, and New Sindicate nonsense. When that whole war started everyone else was cast out into the cold to fend for themselves like animals. It’s the law of the jungle here and it’s quickly become Lord of the Flies. That’s why there’s tension here. Everyone is scrambling for every bit of air time and spots on the shows yet no one organized a rebellion against this tyranny and bullshit that was going on. It seems like it’s nothing but a perpetual nightmare around and yet people wonder why everyone wants to get the fuck out of APW.
Then we have all of the corruption going on around here. That’s why people are leaving. It’s why I’m leaving since there’s been nothing but lies told to people around here for months on end. It’s really pissing me off, too. This place has become like a typical Ted Turner run organization with no direction. There’s people getting Fed Ex care packages with nothing in them, there’s people finding out things right at show time, and so many people being lied to it’s just sickening. Someone needs to stand up and fight for the hard working wrestlers around here. Someone needs to speak up for them when no one else will and that person is me. I’m the only one with enough balls to tell it like it is around here.
Shouldn’t be that hard to figure out why. There’s definitely revolution in the air. The rebellion against tyranny needs a voice and it might as well be me since I’m the man who tells it like it is and if you don’t like it tough shit. I’m really getting sick and tired of the same nonsense happening week in and week out around here. Makes me ashamed to be associated with this place. I really am. When people ask me where I wrestle and I tell them APW I cringe as I say it which shouldn’t be happening. I remember when APW represented the best in wrestling. Now that message has gotten lost and it’s just a sad, sad day. Only those who are blind or are ass kissing brown nosers don’t see what is going on and that’s the damn truth.
See this is how it goes. When I get to the shows I get told something and then something else happens entirely. The scripts are rewritten and it’s a constant thing. It’s kind of a joke, actually. Then every time there’s a fucking issue it’s swept under the rug and made like it didn’t happen. Any little thing is just ignored and if someone basically takes a shit on the entire federation all they get is a slap on the wrist and everybody acts like it’s okay. Give me a break. It’s stuff like that is the main reason this place is turning into a massive shit filled sewer at a rapid rate. The top talent is leaving and when something happens NOTHING is done about it. People can basically do just about anything they want without consequences so it’s basically anarchy around here. It’s over, rest in peace. Get the shovel and bury the remaining bodies.
Johnny Rebel, you more than most know that I’m telling the truth…
I can see the writing on the wall a mile away and I bet you can too although you are an APW loyalist. I get that. I used to be like that before I saw the true face of this company. The face of a cocaine addicted whore…
I am going to show you just how much of a nightmare this is. I see that beating you in the ring is the only way to knock any sense into you. You’re going to start thinking clearly after I give you some head trauma because that’s what I do. I’m not here to entertain the masses. I’m here to hurt people. It’s that simple and if people still haven’t figured that out then they’re fucking idiots. I’m not here to win matches like the rest of these egomaniacs around here. Titles are for the weak and pathetic wrestlers who only care about material things. That’s not how I operate. I’m not out her for my own ego. I’m here to wrestle and bring WRESTLING back to the masses not this sports entertainment nonsense. I’m an athlete and should be treated as such. I think that all of the entertainment, overly dramatic bullshit in this industry needs to be stamped out. And I’m just the man for the job.
Rebel, you need to realize something. This match isn’t about anything other than respect. I respect you as a competitor in that ring which is why I challenged you. I wanted to be on the Meltdown finale show against a wrestler not some idiot out here dancing around with sparklers. I don’t need to be around that crap at all. Shit like that is why this industry is going straight down the toilet. I’d rather just go out there and wrestle someone instead of coming out here and entertaining. I’m not going to kiss ass like some people around here to get what I want either. That’s not how I operate. I’m not going to side with management on every little issue to get a push or to get myself in their good graces. I’m a free thinker, not a sheep who will say “Yes sir, Mr. Jeff” every time there’s a problem. I’m not going to come on here and lie to the masses. I’m not going to deceive or piss on the entire organization like a douche. What I will do is go out to that ring against Johnny Rebel and put on the match of the night.
That is what NEEDS to happen. Get the focus off of the entertainment and get back to the wrestling. However I don’t think it will. But I am looking forward to this match. This is the most excited I’ve been about a match in a while. APW hasn’t been the same for a while. This is also going to be the end of an era. The least ever Meltdown show. It’s historic and I’m glad to be a part of it. Rebel, good luck in our match. I’ll see you in the ring.
He turns and slowly walks off screen with Roberts as the scene fades to black.
