Coming off another defense for the Suicidal Title Kaylyn was feeling pretty good, and knowing the title wasn't on the line again, she could be at ease while. Not that she was heading into this match thinking it was going to be an easy time, far from it, but she knew that either way she would be walking out with her Suicidal title reign in tact.
“It seems like no matter how many times I go elsewhere, the past always comes back to get me one way or another.. this week in the form of Sang Real. It seems like this match isn't even myself against Krown... instead its My ex husband vs. Krown. I’d like to know how well that goes. He proved he could handle any bullshit thrown his way, but still... they want to run their mouths about him when he isn't around to defend himself. Lucky for them.. I can keep a secret.”
Kay was sitting there at the table running her mouth off after hearing the shit that the members of Sang Real had to say, and for a second she forgot Matt was there.
“Keeping a secret? What’s that like? The only secret being kept up until recently that I know of is you apparently have a stalker, or in this case, two. I didn’t even know half of the things they were talking about, and here I was thinking I knew you pretty well. I suppose I should do more research, its bound to be more entertaining that that abortion of an interview. Really, what did those guys have to say? I like hearing about you as much as the next guy, but rather than a history lesson, perhaps they should have been focussing on the future, that is the immediate future when you crown Krown.”
“Well, just like before, they are going into this match assuming they have the upper hand. While they were sitting around doing nothing for god only knows how long, I have been working my ass off in more than one federation so I have gotten better in the ring. Back when they met me, I was a champion and held the title to tie the longest reign as a women’s champion... and now they think they can walk in... once more while I am holding a title and just go in the ring and expect to walk out alive... Shit, Krown is going to need Gabriel to help him out because as it stands.. he has no chance alone in the ring against me.”
Matt tilted his head to the side slightly, looking over at the impressive APW Megastar “You might want to keep working then...it’s still there and it’s spectacular.” He punctuated that statement with an arrogant smirk before speaking again. “Is this common practice here in APW? Just walking in off the street and assuming you can take down a champion simply because you watched them on tape? The past is there for a reason, and it shouldn’t be the basis of the future, unless you let it be. They think you’re still that same girl you were what? Two, three years ago? Pathetic. They run down your list of suitors and just ignore me, don’t they know I’m awesome? My fragile ego can’t stand being snubbed.” He rolled his eyes before continuing. “I’m not sure if I’m watching a wrestling interview or a bad comedy duo. Once they got through the history lesson, like there was anything in there that had any bearing whatsoever on your match, they go into the same tired “irresistible force” routine like anyone is going to be buying what they’re selling. It’s wrestling 101 and at this level, I expect better of people. Is this common over here?”
Kay shrugged her shoulders. “Who knows honestly. Right now, everything they are spitting is nothing new. I have heard it all before and they are just wanting to make sure everyone else knows it to. Big flying fuck. I was married. I am divorced. I tried relationships with other people. I am fucking human after all... or, at least I think I am...” Kaylyn pretended to think about that for a moment before laughing. “You know, back when they thought they knew me... they were better off as commentators than they were in the ring, I think it might be true. Either way, it doesn’t matter. This week will be just like it always was back then... another time I step into the ring and show everyone what I am really made of. They wanted to run their mouths like the little bitches that they are, and now I am going to get into the ring and smack Krown around showing him just who the head Bitch always was, and always will be. They can pop off at the mouth and tell the world my life story... It’s nothing no one can’t find out for themselves if they want to look it up. Let them keep focusing elsewhere, while they do that, I am focusing on Krown... and how great its going to be to shut him up once and for all.”
“Couldn’t have said it better myself...well maybe I could, but I’ll accept your answer.” A slight smirk spreading across his face, glancing around he picked up his 710 ml bottle of Pepsi (sold worldwide) and walked over to the Suicidal champion, holding it out in front of her like a microphone. “So Miss. Evans, with your upcoming non-title match, would you say that Krown is on a suicide mission if he’s looking to launch his career at your expense?” Every good interview needs a solid sound byte, right?
“Well Mr. Stone...” Kaylyn stated trying her best not to laugh but failing miserably, “.. I would definitely say that he is on a suicide mission. I have been in the ring with bigger and better people... more experienced wrestlers, and many have failed. I didn’t become a champion because I was weak, I am a champion because I know what to do in the ring. I am very agile, flexible, so many things that Krown is not. He has some ring rust, and I am sure I can help him work some of it out. Hell, at this point I might just toy around in the ring and let him think he might have a shot... sometimes games are fun.”
Matt just shook his head when she started laughing, she wasn't going to be winning any Oscars anytime soon, but who cares? Championships are better than Oscars. “Well there you have it, the Suicidal championship does have a purpose, and if Mr. Enigma’s testimony is worth the paper it likely isn’t written on, then one could easily make the argument that making a name for yourself off Kaylyn is like trying to be successful in politics if your last name is Palin.”
“I have to admit though, I really enjoy people having the high spirits heading into the ring against me, thinking that they are going to make a name for themselves... Makes it that much better when I tear them apart.”
Matt couldn’t leave that alone. “So that’s a perfect segway into my next question, when you’re not tearing men apart, what are you doing with them? It’s page one news, clearly, and inquiring minds need to know!”
“Well, why don’t you tell me Mr. Stone.. you seem to spend enough time with me. Tell the world what it is I do when I am not tearing men apart in the ring...” Kaylyn smirked and raised a brow.
“Well from where I’m standing, I would say you engage in pseudo-interviews with the most handsome man you’ve ever met.” Ever the egotist, Matt didn’t shy away from putting himself over. “I will add, though, that in doing so, even in this less than adequate location, you’re doing a much better job than Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum did. Wow, try saying that five times fast.” He moved the bottle back in front of her like he expected her to actually do it, but before her lips part, he pulls the bottle back, "Scratch that, let’s talk about me. Those morons didn’t even seem to know my name, so why don’t you give them a little background about your favorite subject and mine, me.?”
“Haha, nice try there Matt, but this isn’t about you.. not now at least. Why would I tell them more about my life. For all I know they are sitting outside my window right now, or have a wire in my house somewhere. If you remember correctly, they only focused on the past... everything that doesn’t really matter anymore. You’re not the past... right?”
“I’m the past, present and future baby, but you make a good point, they seemed far more interested in your ex-husband than they did about you. They even went off like a poor Abbott and Costello team about the gold you wrap around your waist each and every night, talking about anything and everything except what really matters. You. Very smart of you not to fall into the same trap, I, much like your quote-unquote stalkers seemed to have underestimated you. So why not talk about what Krown has been up to recently? If, of course, you can find a way for that to fill a few seconds, I’m sure it won’t be an easy task.”
“In order to talk about what he has been up to recently, would mean I would have actually had to pay attention. I don’t pay attention to those that don’t matter. The only time the nobodies get my attention is when I find out they will be across from me in the ring. Even then... the only attention they really get is my foot up their ass. My best guess however, is that he has been up to absolutely nothing that matters. I didn’t even know he was in APW until I seen his name across from mine. Guess he really is looking for his big break.. but that won’t be this week.. not by a long shot.”
“Well he gets to be in the ring with you that’s something at least, right? I mean, if we're going to talk about the past, it took you beating Jason Kash on three consecutive occasions before he realized you were nothing to sneeze at.” He winks at the last comment. “So maybe this will be a valuable learning experience for Krown, you never know. Perhaps he will start referring to you as the queen.”
“Pass on that. If memory serves me correctly, Parker always referred to herself as the queen, and I want to keep myself far away from that. I don’t have time for that route anymore. I am moving on to bigger and better things... and that doesn’t include little nobodies.”
“Krown...queen...never mind.” He shakes his head, obviously it wasn’t very punny. “Do you have anything else to say to all the viewers who just love amateur interviews?”
“How about get a fucking life?” Kaylyn laughed before rolling her eyes. Matt put his soda bottle down and relaxed once more, leaving the wrestling conversation behind them.
Later that evening Kaylyn pulled out her laptop figuring she could write a little blog regarding her thoughts on this week in summary.
So, once more I am coming across someone I knew back in ACW. Time and time again it seems my path is going to cross that of those I no longer give a damn about, but I have to admit, its good to know after one place closes, some people actually got off their asses and found work elsewhere instead of sitting around and packing on the pounds.
Krown is the one I have to go against this week, and honestly... I could care less about it. It's just another match to me.. nothing special. When you go to speak about me, and all you can do is bring up the past.. it shows you know absolutely nothing about me.
The only thing you got right.. was that I am a fine catch. But it wasn't him that let me get away.. so your facts are wrong. I left him. He refused to sign the papers.. and hell, can you blame him?I sure as hell can’t, but hey.. that is besides the point.
The point here is very simple. This week when you step into the ring against me, you’re going to get a reality check. I am going to snap your ass out of the past, and get you into the present, hell.. maybe you will get a little glimpse of your future. Here is a hint though... it’s nil. When you go and run your mouth about me.. you have seen before what I do about it... and that’s shut people the fuck up. Some things never change and that is one of them.
When we get into the ring, I will be teaching you a little lesson. I will be showing you just how much more skill I have now then I did before. I will be laying you out on the canvas, and I will smile as my hand is raised and I am announced the winner. You had your chance to focus on me.. instead you focused on the men in my life... maybe you two being so close has finally made sense. Just do me a favor.. make sure your ass isn’t sore coming into the ring... because I want you to know that all the pain you feel is from me and not your lover.
“It seems like no matter how many times I go elsewhere, the past always comes back to get me one way or another.. this week in the form of Sang Real.
