Why Won’t You Just Die! Pt.2: Death Wish
Enigma, still in his white blood stained suit sits on the back of an ambulance with a dead and cold stare as he looks off into the dark distance of the night as several things run through his mind. Police are still all around trying to piece together what happened at the nightclub following the shooting as no one was saying anything. Other officers were also still trying to gather the wounded as well as the dead.
An officer approaches Enigma and ask, “Hey Mr. Enigma, ah, I know this still is not a good time, but did you happen to see anything or have any idea as to who may have done this?”
Enigma simply glared back at him and in such an ominous manner that the officer began to walk off but not before Enigma grabbed his arm.
“Heed my words…and hear me well…to know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity; vengeance will be mine.”
Enigmatic Voice Over:
Trauma, stress, strain…these are the things that can push a man over the edge. These are the things that can cause a man to do things like that of a man with his back against the wall, to go to any extreme to prove a point. You see Young Mannie, you think by going to get your dog that Enigma won’t bite back and send him running back to you as you yourself are…a failure in life, a failure of society and a failure in the ring! Please Mannie, why don’t you and your little girlfriend Alec go F* yourselves and just die! Oh, already did that, well if suicide is too much for you to complete the rest of that story, trust me, Enigma will be more than willing to oblige the rest of that statement with the 187 and if necessary, more than once. Speaking of which, how’s the neck Mannie. Alec, you will only get more of the same.
Confused, the officer looks at Enigma as Enigma tightens the grip on his arm. The officer manages to get Enigma to let go as he ask, “Enigma, are you okay?”
Suddenly, Enigma receives another text message that reads, “Seriously, you just going to sit there talking about riddles or are you going to do something about it?”
Surprised, Enigma begins to frantically look around trying to see if he could see anyone nearby. As before, no one could be found, but in a distance, unknowingly to Enigma, someone was watching through the lenses of a scope several yards away.
Enigmatic Voice Over:
Yeah Alec, you won’t see Enigma coming because unlike Enigma, where is your motive, where your drive, where is that deep sense of purpose? Maybe it’s Enigma’s guess that the little bitch Young Mannie wasn’t good enough so now the goons fool may fair better? NOT! Surely Young Mannie, you forgot to tell your boy not to play with men like Enigma, not to walk with the ungodly, or to stay on the straight and narrow without becoming distracted. Either way, Mannie, Alec, and the bitch you two may ride in with, come one, come all, because the more the merrier, all will fall.
Given Enigma’s erratic response to the initial question followed by the text, more and more, the officer is now considering taking Enigma in for further evaluation.
Enigma then gets up, covered in blood like the passion of the Christ, walks to his limo not far away and looks back at the officer and says, “Sorry doc, but I have something I have to do.”
With the slamming of the door behind, Enigma was on his way, but that did not hinder the officers thoughts as to what may be.
As Enigma sat in the back seat, his limo driver too notice with an addition of a little sarcasm as he says, “Had a rough night?”
Enigma, still with a look of death in his eyes glares back at Alfred and says noting as he turns of the radio to get his mind right for the remainder of the night. In the meantime, Enigma pondered, was it worth trying to do the right things? Was it worth trying to walk the paths of the straight and sort of narrow? Was it right to try to be a man of the people? Only time would tell but for now, time wasn’t adding up.
The scene then shifts to another unknown part of town where Stan sits on a makeshift throne with several of his goons around him, rejoicing in their small victory after returning from shooting up the night club, killing Lil J in the process.
“This was just the beginning,” says Stan with a smile and a glass of vodka in hand. “What started with Lil J tonight will end with Enigma tomorrow!”
Enigmatic Voice Over:
Just like Stan, ignorance stands in the place of a misplaced confidence. Young Mannie, what was strike one with you and a strike out all in the same, strike two for Alec, well, for Enigma, will be as simple as a record homerun. You see what Enigma starts, he finishes and what others start with Enigma, likewise, Enigma finishes. To be quite honest Alec Quartermain, you are only a quarter of the main attraction and Enigma will expose you for exactly who you are…half a man and 100% Coward! Rather than call yourselves the Main Attraction, just start calling your team of misfits the Main Abomination. Young Mannie, Alec Quatermain, you are a disgrace to the face of APW and not even worth the effort these fans paid to see. While they chant the name Enigma, Enigma will be further diminishing yours.
Stan is then seen being pulled to the side now in another room still full of smiles and liquor. One of the men that was out of the ride that shot up the club speaks to him in private, “Hey Stan, ah, we got the Lil J character but Enigma was able to get away.”
Instantly, Stan, still with a fresh knot on his head from the chess board that Enigma hit him with earlier in the month, looks at his boy and says, “Ah, did I not acknowledge that in the other room when I said what started with Lil J tonight will end with Enigma tomorrow?”
“Yeah.”
“So, is it just me or do I smell fear.”
Stan’s associate looks nervous as Stan raises an eyebrow, “you nervous?”
“Nah man, I was just saying…”
Stan pulls out his hand gun, a nine millimeter and then points it at the man’s head. “You see when you at war, you don’t need weak links. Sorry chuck, but you got to be more focused.”
SHOT FIRED!
Other associates of Stan’s new cartel rush into the room.
Stan orders them to, “get this piece of crap off my floor and toss his a** into the river with the gators.” The men comply and begin the clean up as Stan mumbles to himself, “All in a day’s work and Enigma, enjoy our upcoming match because shortly thereafter, it will be your turn.”
Enigmatic Voice Over:
Sometimes Alec, you have to take drastic measures to send a message. Know anything about that Alec? Soon enough, the amount of questions will be no more and the answers will be indeed definite. Like a thief in the night, still Alec, even that thief will not be as swift as the injustice that Enigma will plague on you. And Young Mannie, step into the ring, tempt death and destiny, and Enigma will surely destroy what little confidence you yet think you have to gain. Alec, here is a question for you. Do you do tricks too? Stan may be celebrating in the short term, but in the long term, the war is far from over. You see after this, if Biggs sees fit, Enigma may just want to put an official end to you and your BOY once and for all in a tag team match where Enigma picks his partner. Even if not, still, once Enigma plants you Alec with a 187 and has his hands raised in victory, all he will say is simply if you die, then so be it. That is just how much Enigma does not think of you and just how much less you will mean to the world once he is done with you.
Enigma finally arrives back to his apartment and as he heads towards the front door, awaiting were several news reporters wanting a story.
First Coast News:
Mr. Enigma, what happened and will this deter you from you upcoming match with Alec Quartermain?
Enigma looks back at the FCN news crewman and says in a sarcastic tone, “Really? If you have to ask me that then you do not know Mr. Enigma. I have beaten Young Mannie before and just because he sends one of his goons to do what he could not won’t change anything.” Exuding with confidence, Enigma sticks out his chest and continues with, “…and furthermore, as to what happened, my friend died and now, I have work to do.”
Fox 30:
So you fully intend on going ahead with the match and how does all this death affect you mentally at this time.
Enigma sighs with that question before saying, “Look, I was one man when you met me and now I am an Enigma of God today.” Enigma then submits a slight grin before going on, “Alec better be ready is all I say because now more than ever, Enigma will be more dangerous than ever and he need not show up if he thinks for one second I will be any less forgiving in that ring.”
WAPT:
Many people are trying to make this thing with you and Young Mannie more personal than what it appears. Now that Alec is up next, should we expect more out of this following this match despite the outcome or is this simply another stepping stone on you quest to total dominance.
Enigma hands his jacket to his butler before he answers. “Is this a feud?” Enigma then breaks into slight laughter. “Mannie, Alec, they are all the same to me as far as I am concerned. Any jackass that associates himself with Mannie is waiting to get stomped on by great champions and or legends in this business like me.” Enigma notions as assert himself adding, “You see, where Enigma awaits the challenge, Alec Quatermain has to be ordered to show himself approved. Enigma needs no approval because I am my own stamp of the success that has followed me.”
Fox 30:
So what do you have to say to the rumors that you old buddy Stan may have had something to do with this.
Quickly, Enigma’s tone and demeanor change to something more of an irritation. “If he did and I suspect that to be the case, what the law can’t prove, Enigma will surely confirm and correct. And if Alec is watching, know this,” starring into the camera as they get a close up on Enigma. “What can’t kill Enigma; Enigma will destroy!”
Enigma, as before, receives another inopportune text, “you want to know more, come to the top of the tower.”
Enigma looks up to the top of his own building and lets the media personnel know that he has to run. He rushes up to the elevator and heads straight to the top of the building. As he steps off, Enigma feels the cold hard steel of something against his head and the voice of an unknown voice, masked like that of Bane from behind him. Still, Enigma could tell it was a females voice but just not who.
“Turn around and you are a dead man,” says the individual. “Now then, I have some questions for you.”
“Oooooh, more questions,” Enigma says with flair in his voice.
“This is not a joke Enigma but more seriously, why do so many want to kill you?”
“When have I not been so desired? Even still, when shall I be able to know the true identity of you?”
The individual pauses and then answers, “When I get ready but for now; now is not the time. Soon Enigma, what needs to be known shall be, but not yet.”
Enigma, as usual, dares the situation and turns around anyways, only to find no one standing around. Enigma looks around and finds nothing nor a noise to signal any sign of anyone being there. He then scratches his head speaking to himself, “What the…I know I am not crazy. Many men have wished death on my but I know I am not losing it.”
Again, another text comes in that reads, “A man of understanding will attain wise counsel to understand a proverb and an enigma, and the words of the wise and their riddles.”
Enigma recognized the saying as that from the bible and could only laugh because he knew it came from the one that was just behind him as he edges out a smile.
Enigmatic Voice Over:
Many men have wished death on me Alec. You won’t be the first nor will you be the last, but one thing that can be said is this. You will be the first major example of what it means to let dead dogs die in APW regarding Enigma and to stay out of his way. You will also be the living and soon to be on the brink of death example of what it means to not send a second fiddle B movie to a red carpet affair. Alec, there are a few things in life that can make most men happy. Power of unlimited financial resources, power of the most beautiful women, and the authority of whatever you desire as you desire it. For Enigma, it’s simple to bear witness and participate in you demise and prove once and for all that Young Mannie will never man up to Enigma’s league. You want a feud? Sorry Alec, you might want to crawl up some other tree or at least back up that crack of Mannie’s ass in the process because Enigma is not the one for you.
As Enigma walks back to the elevator, he pauses looks at his phone and laughs to himself.
Enigmatic Voice Over:
Many men have wished death and only received it. Alec look into my eyes and tell me, have you ever danced with the devil? Whether you have or not, prepare to meet him and take a good look at this prophetic video because what’s about to happen to Stan and his boys will be more of the same and possibly even worse to you. And Mannie, Enigma hopes you are watching because there will be blood, pain, and torment.
