Night…
The scene opens at a restaurant where Michael Jennings is having dinner with his cousin Summer Jennings after a training session. They are at Benihanas eating dinner talking about things including their wrestling careers and how good the food is.
Jennings: This is awesome.
Summer: I agree. This is as awesome as the ending to Scream 4.
Michael shakes his head.
Jennings: I disagree. It’s on par with something more awesome than that. Cabin in the Woods and Nightmare City come to mind.
Summer: Never seen Nightmare City.
Jennings: Not surprised. Not too many people have seen it. It’s an obscure Italian horror movie about radioactive contaminated people turning into mutant psychopaths armed with weapons who kill everyone. It’s great. The Crazies rips it off big time.
Summer: I’ll have to check it out.
Jennings: Agreed. It’s bad ass, Summer. You should watch it. Lots of great scenes in it.
She nods her head in agreement.
Summer: I’ll have to do that.
Jennings: It reminds me of some of my matches.
Summer: Speaking of that how have your matches been going? You haven’t been talking about your career as much as you used to. Is there something going on since the last time we talked?
He sighs before responding.
Jennings: Not really. Just noticing that the business has changed since 2011. It’s gone in a direction that I don’t like.
She raises an eyebrow.
Summer: What kind of things?
Jennings: It’s very obvious that wrestlers only care about winning matches and titles now. It’s a common theme and has created an ego driven business filled with people who think they’re the shit when they’re not. There’s also this clique mentality as well that I’ve noticed. Noticed that numerous wrestlers from various organizations are all in little high school groups all over the place. It’s like being in high school all over again. It’s really turned the business into nothing more than a glorified popularity contest. Imagine Monsters University but with wrestlers instead of monsters.
This comment makes Summer smile.
Summer: So basically it’s like high school now?
Jennings: Exactly. On Twitter it’s nothing but a dick measuring contest. Backstage it’s just like a high school. This business is going down the toilet.
Summer: Sounds like it.
After a brief pause where they give
Summer: How are your injuries?
Jennings: They are getting better. Nothing too serious. It’s not like I survived the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or something like that. They’re just wrestling matches.
Summer: I can see that. Hopefully things get a little better.
Jennings: They will. I have won a majority of my matches over the past month so I’m not too worried. However I am trying to keep my focus on Biggs. Biggs is a man who needs to have my undivided attention. He is a legend in APW and I need to beat him in order to prove myself.
Summer: Well good luck with that…
This comment takes Michael aback for a second before he responds.
Jennings: Are you saying that I can’t beat him?
Summer: I’m just saying it’ll be a tough task.
Jennings: Really…
She nods her head.
Summer: What? I’m just being honest.
After a few of moments of pondering he finally gets around to responding. Michael has a lot on hos mind and that’s very apparent.
Jennings: I feel…lost.
Summer: What do you mean?
Jennings: I feel out of it this week. I don’t have the drive and motivation I usually do. Maybe I just did too much too fast and now I’m feeling lost…I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m being pulled in a bunch of different directions at the same time. It’s very, very strange. That’s the best way that I can describe it.
Summer: Let’s go chat some place quiet so you can tell me everything.
Jennings: Alright sounds like a plan to me.
He motions to the camera to leave.
Jennings: You get the hell out of here…
When the camera doesn’t leave he then gets up and pushes it out of the area until it the scene fades to black.

Night…
The scene opens with Michael Jennings standing in a really bad neighborhood with graffiti all over the place and police sirens in the background as Michael begins to speak.
Jennings: This week my opponent is a man by the name of Mad Mumf. You and me are very similar in the aspect that we are both take no crap wrestlers. That is something that I admire a lot. In fact it makes me more excited for this match than I have been for awhile. However that’s where the similarities end. You were in the military and were in the Special Forces which is what I think is going to make you a very intriguing opponent for me this week. In fact I think you’re one of the most dangerous wrestlers in all of APW for that reason alone.
Mumf, this is going to be a battle that will live long in the history of APW. This is a match between two wrestlers who are out to inflict punishment. This match is going to be a battle of attrition. It will be a match without titles on the line. This is just about two men who want to prove who’s the better wrestler in the ring. This isn’t some entertainment dance off match. This ain’t a match being done to sell T-shirts or merchandise because I don’t give a crap about that anyway. This is a match that is there to see who is the best of the two of us.
In a business that is filled with egomaniacs it’s driving me nuts. It’s a circle jerk all the fucking time and it makes me sick. It’s nothing but a joke and that’s what this industry is turning into. Kayfabe breaking brown nosers and a bunch of wrestlers who think that their shit doesn’t stink. It really has gone down the toilet since I left back in 2011. I’m being serious, Mumf. Look around. You’ll see what I’m talking about. The reason I have a hard time talking smack about you because you don’t bother me. There’s too many clowns in this industry who think they’re the shit but they’re not that bother me so the fact that I’m not having an issue with you should tell you a lot. I can’t stand these egomaniacal douches walking around here only caring about wins and losses. Give me a break. That kind of thinking only fuels all the childish arguing and makes more egomaniacs who continue the high school cycle of idiocy that’s taken over this industry. At this point I’m waiting to see a Prom Dance Match somewhere. Or maybe a Prom Court Vote somewhere. It’s all a bunch of crap and I can’t respect that type of thinking in this business. It makes people lose respect for the business.
Now I respect you Mumf. I respect you a lot more than a lot of the wrestlers in this industry. I swear every time I look around its me, me, me, me, me, I, I, I, I, I, I, I…if it’s a woman if and I bring up playing chess they’re like “Oh you said chess, well look at my chest.” It’s an ego driven, self-centered business which is why I’m starting to lose it. There’s too much egomaniacy going on and too many divas and primadonnas who only care about wins and titles. Fuckers like that are the reason wrestling has down on a downward spiral. It’s the reason why MMA is taking over. However there are still wrestlers like us Mumf who keep it real instead of doing all that ego driven bullshit. This is going to be an old school match. Like back in the old days, the all or nothing days when wrestling was more about putting on good matches instead of worrying about wins and titles like now days. It fucking sucks and I like this match a lot since it’s an old school style match. I’m looking forward to putting on a show for the fans and that’s what it’s all about. Forget all this other nonsense and the other matches that are going on. This will be a battle in the middle of the war leading up to Shockwave. I am hoping to that this is an old school wrestling contest which is what I want to see more of. It’s going to be an honor to meet you in the ring this week, Mumf. I’ll see you in the ring.
