Whether or not I'll get a promo up in time is kind off up in the air as I'm attending a music festival this weekend and I forgot to ask for this week off.

That takes place about 5 minutes from where I work. Since thursday the alcohol sales have been through the roof with people walking out with trolleys full of beer, burgers and BBQ's!

I'm jealous of you northerners getting the best gigs around your end while I just get crappy pop music outdoor festivals in London. I live in the wrong part of England.

At least you get awesome gigs up there! I'm in Devon. Most of the time we get nada. I'm going to a music festival next weekend that is local, but it's... not metal in the slightest, haha. To be fair, when we DO get awesome bands down here the gigs are immense. Some of my most memorable gigs have been local ones, even when I've seen the artist elsewhere.
I saw Sebastian Bach play Torquay town hall, to literally about thirty people. We were all down the front and going crazy, and he played it like it was a frickin' sold out arena tour. He was an inch from my face at times. Amazing. Saw Dio play in a slightly larger venue with... maybe ten times as many people, but similarly just immense. That gig's gotta be in my top five. Despite being in our titchy university hall they even brought in the big video screens. And again, no barrier around the stage. Deep Purple, same. Soil weren't quite in the same league but getting there, just for the intimacy of the venue. Alas, these are few and far between!
Most of the time, if I wanna see anything, I gotta travel.

I saw Sebsastian Bach once when he opened for Guns N Roses and he freakin killed it. He's actually playing at a festival about 2 hours from my place. Was planning on going, but don't have the money to go

Slayer? Sounds familiar but no..Anthranx? No. Just not my thing. I'm sure a live concert could convert someone though.

I adore his work with Skid Row, and though his solo stuff hasn't impressed me, really... he's still got it live, and then some. Easily one of my favourite vocalists and frontmen of all time. Kash, how have you not heard of Slayer! Blows my mind!!

You must have wiped them from your memory with all the ganj. Anthrax made a song with Public Enemy called "Bring the Noise." They have a lot of other popular songs, but that's the one you most likely have heard of.

I've heard of Lamb of God before. Was unknowingly in Barnes & Noble a few years ago during the release of the last Twilight book (Worst timing of my life lol) and this teenager who was high as a kite was wearing one of their T-shirts and it intrigued me and creeped me out at the same time so I inquired about the band.
