On the Meltdown Supershow, half the show had summerized results while others had full written matches. I'm just curious to know everyone's thoughts on this format. Lower profiled matches summerized, higher profiled matches fully written.
Normally we either have all matches fully written or as you see on Asylum and past meltdowns, only the main event is fully written. I did the Supershow that was on purpose as an experiement. So just looking to see what everyone's thoughts of it was as in, did it effect the show and what not

I like the format but summarized matches sometimes do no justice to the work people put in. Maybe a little longer then a summarized match, but not one fully written out if that makes since. Got to have some meat on the bone lol.

Yeah it depends on the match. Some summarized matches should go a little longer for two reasons if at all.
1 - The matchup is a good match up, just doesn't have any story or titles attached to it.
2 - The writer is just flowing in the writing that given match and gives a little more to it.
This is often why people write their own matches. So it's always going to vary.

If you're going to do a mix of the two, I'd leave it with all matches except the main events summarized. Just seems to work easier, and might make the potential for people to think they aren't as important if their match earlier isn't fully written.
Just a thought.

I can't write summarized matches. So there's my vote, which means nothing.

As someone who picked up more matches than they could reasonably have written (fully)... I suppose I was kinda glad for this limitation, and the match I had to summarize was only mine so I didn't really hit the following misgiving. But here it is: I actually feel kinda... dirty after writing a summarized match. Part of me feels (as mentioned above) that if people have put several hours of effort into a match, they deserve to get that much back. Mind you, I'm also terrible at keeping prose concise, and I have to lower my standards dramatically to do so - which always feels a bit rough. I'm such a sensitive artiste, haha. Seriously, and honestly, I think summaries should be kept for situations where they're either a) reflecting a general lack of input from those participating (i.e. no shows/squashes) or b) forced by circumstance. If there's not enough match writers around, or those that are don't have time to bust out full length and quality for the results, I'm not against summarized matches where necessary. In general, I say keep it full length. And I'll probably regret this next time there are like, five matches without writers and I'm feeling like a freakin' martyr...
