(OOC: Sorry if this is a bit hard to read, the color thing doesn't want to work for me today.)
By now the set of Sang Réal’s infrequently run online show, Roll Call, should still be somewhat familiar to the fans of Action Packed Wrestling. The high backed leather chairs in front of a bookcase in a reading room with a fireplace and table is reminiscent of the television series Masterpiece Theater, which was the intention when it was designed. The whole thing is to meat to reflect the image of wealth and class as this is the type of library or reading room one would expect to find in the mansion of one born to wealth and privilege. With that in mind, one can see why it is perfect for Connor Murphy and Gabriel Krown, collectively known as Sang Réal, the Old French word for Royal Blood, and their image and mentality of the old money type.
The two second generation wrestlers are seated in the high back leather chairs, with Murphy on the left and Krown on the right. Connor Murphy is wearing a dark grey suit with a black tie. Gabriel Krown is dressed in a Navy blue suit with a black tie.
Murphy: “So one more time it seems we get an opportunity to take on the APW Tag Team Champions, the Dying Breed. Now last time did not go exactly as we would have like it to, but that doesn’t matter to us. Do you know why? It is simple. We knew we would get another opportunity to face you two in the ring.”
Krown: “The odds were really in our favor of that being a thing that happened. I mean really, there are so few tag teams in Action Packed Wrestling that this had to happen. You have the Black Hand, the Unforgiven, Space Cowboys I think was a team here, or a movie I saw on the plane, the two of us Sang Réal, you two, and I think like one or two more after that, so yeah, this match was bound to happen. There was really no one around it unless one of us got injured and I feel fine.”
Murphy: “And I’m not feeling any pains or soreness. I am feeling good and feeling healthy.”
Krown gestures to himself and Murphy for a moment and then lowers his hands on the chair’s armrests.
Krown: “We are both healthy then. And we are both ready to face The Dying Breed in the ring.”
Murphy: “Now we are willing to admit that you two are a very good team. After all, you two are two-time APW Tag Team Champions. Anthony Bailey, you were a former World Champion, and Jair Hopkins, you currently have the Tap Out Championship. Now we admit that you two are good. You earned it. We were born to be great. That is the difference.”
Krown: “Now we are going to win this match and then we are going to become the third set of number one contenders to the APW Tag Team Champions, which leaves the remaining two or three teams that are not already number one contenders to wait until they can become number one contenders. Then, at One Night in Hell, it doesn’t matter what stipulation Zachariah Blood chooses, as long as it is not a Bra & Panties match, because we are going to win.”
As if he is just about to speak, Murphy pauses with a confused look on his face. He shifts in his seat and looks at his tag team partner.”
Murphy: “Wait.”
Now it is Krown who seems confused as he turns towards Murphy.
Krown: “What?”
Murphy: “Okay, two things and I may regret one, so let me ask the one I probably won’t regret asking.”
Krown: “Which is?”
Murphy: “Why would we be added to the match? I mean where are you getting that?”
Krown: “Well it makes sense. I mean we would have beaten the Tag Team Champions.”
The son of Sheamus Murphy shrugs.
Murphy: “I don’t know. I’d say future title opportunity as opposed to turning a triple threat match into a fatal fourway. There is already a fatal fourway on the card.”
Krown throws his arms up into the air and lets them drop down.
Krown: “Oh like they can’t reuse an idea? It happens all the time in wrestling. It’s probably happening right now. I mean the evil boss has been done and it is still being done, sometimes very well and then other times just not. Faction warfare will always happen until either one faction beats the other or one just fades away because they got other stuff going on. And is the evil boss going to build a faction of loyal wrestlers? More than likely he will, and will probably have a handpicked champion to lead the group. A wrestler trying to defy the guy in charge like some sort of rebel is a thing that happens a lot. And don’t get me started on all the invasions we all saw after that first time.”
Murphy: “Fair enough. But why would he pick a Bra and Panties match and how could we not win that?”
Krown: “Do you want to go into the ring wearing women’s underwear? I mean it is fine if Blood and Sentinel do, because I am pretty sure the girls are running that team, but I don’t. Do you?”
Murphy: “No.”
Krown: “Then we wouldn’t go out there and thus we wouldn’t be able to win.”
Murphy rubs his temples with one hand.
Murphy: “Why though, out of all the matches and stipulations Zachariah Blood could pick, would he pick a Bra & Panties Match?”
Krown: “Because he is Zachariah Blood, he is creepy and all dark and mysterious and evil and stuff and because I’m pretty sure neither he nor Sentinel wear the pants in that team. But he may do something with barbed wire or some sort of Buried Alive thing or Falls Count Anywhere.”
Realizing it is not a conversation he wants to continue, Murphy just shakes his head.
Murphy: “I fail to see how that makes sense, but I am just going to go with it.”
The heir to the Krown wrestling legacy smiles and nods.
Krown: “Thank you.”
Again, Murphy has a confused look on his face as he looks up at Krown.
Murphy: “What?”
Krown: “What?”
Murphy: “Huh?”
Krown: “What?”
Murphy: “Nevermind.”
Krown: “Okay.”
Shaking his head again, Murphy turns away from his partner, Krown, and faces forward. Krown shifts as well, so that he is facing forward.
Murphy: “Now yes, as we said, Dying Breed, it is us again. Now we will admit that maybe, just maybe, we underestimated you. We will admit that. We are perfectly willing to admit the possibility of that. But it is not going to happen again.”
Krown: “See, we don’t have an issue with your wrestling ability. It is your background and breeding that we are somewhat resentful of.”
Murphy taps Krown on the arm.
Murphy: “Do you have any idea how racist that sounds?”
For a moment, Krown pauses and seems to be thinking about it. He nods in agreement.
Krown: “Okay I can see that. But we are not racist. You’ll hit on anything as long as it was born genetically female.”
Murphy does not even have to think about that as he nods.
Murphy: “Yes. Yes I will.”
Krown: “I am just saying that we are rich, well educated, well breed, well groomed second generation wrestlers and they are two punks from the street. They seem to resent us for what we are. If anything, Jair Hopkins and Anthony Bailey are classists. This is clearly class warfare.”
Murphy: “That doesn’t make a lot of sense.”
Krown: “Never has and never will. However, for some strange reason, when the poor and underprivileged complain and protest the actions of the rich, it is class warfare. When we, the rich and privileged, make negative remarks about the peasant class, it is not class warfare. This is the logic according to Fox News, and as we all know, they are both fair and balanced, as long as you are a white Anglo Saxon conservative God loving American, and everyone else can just die and go to hell.”
The second generation wrestler of Irish decent glances at Krown and points at him, wagging a finger.
Murphy: “Stop watching Fox News.”
Krown: “I can’t. It’s like a car accident. You have to look and once you do, logic just seems to fly out the window and no matter how crazy it sounds, there is both no logic to whatever they say, but it makes sense somehow.”
Murphy: “Well stop watching it.”
Krown: “Would you rather I watch CNN, the special kid bus of cable news?”
Murphy lowers his arm and shakes his head.
Murphy: “God no.”
Krown: “Didn’t think so.”
Murphy: “Now anyway, as I was saying, Jair Hopkins, Anthony Bailey, you two became champions. We were born to be champions. We beat you and we get a step closer to becoming champions here in Action Packed Wrestling and fulfilling our birthrights here. Now maybe it doesn’t happen at One Night in Hell or maybe it does, either way, we can get a shot.”
Krown: “You two can be proud of your upbringing like it makes you tough or it makes you strong all you want and that is great. But why should not be proud of ours? Yes, we are getting by on our fathers’ names, but hey, we are not the first and we will not be the last. But it works for us. You have to admit, we pull off spoiled rich kids well. I mean this suit probably costs more than most of the people in the Philippines make in a year. And this is a nice suit. Tailor made, custom fit, you have to admit that it is a nice suit.”
Murphy leans a bit forward in his chair.
Murphy: “See what we have here is the born aristocracy versus the new money, the haves versus the have-nots, and right now, you two have something we want. All we need is one win, just one win and we are in the running. If by some miracle, you are able to walk out of One Night in Hell with your reign as APW Tag Team Champions intact, then we will be waiting in the wings. All we need is to get that one victory.”
Krown: “You two became champions, but we were born to be champions. And we will be champions again, even if we have to go through you. And we are willing to do that and it starts at Sunday Night Asylum. That thing you have that we want, it is those APW Tag Team Championships, but you probably figured that out.”
Murphy: “We know that we can beat you. Just because we have not yet done so does not mean that we cannot beat you. It just means that we have yet to really figure out how to beat you. We can though, and we will figure it out. And then we will beat you.”
Krown: “You guys are two singles wrestlers that just joined together to form a tag team and allied with some other guy to form a faction, which honestly, we haven’t really seen much of, so it is more like Dying Breed is just a tag team as opposed to a faction. Either way, you are two singles guys. You still are. Hopkins just won the Tap Out Championship, and Bailey, you tried to become the APW World Champion. We are a legitimate tag team. And it is time we prove to the world and the APW that we are the superior team because we were born to be.”
Murphy: “Now we win, and we are back in the running for those titles. Even if you do not retain at One Night in Hell, and you only have about a 33 percent chance of doing so, a win over former Tag Team Champions is still helpful. Sooner or later, we will take those titles. It is not just inevitable; it is destiny, our birthright.”
Krown: “It does not HAVE to be from you, but we would not be opposed to it being from beating Dying Breed.”
Murphy: “So let’s see if history can repeat itself or maybe we get the victory over the two of you. And we just might. It seems you two are not even focused on this match or any other match except for One Night in Hell. I mean you guys lost a key match; the chance to select the stipulation at One Night in Hell. This is giving up a huge advantage. You two are so fixed on what is up ahead that you are not looking at what is right in front of you. That gives us an advantage. One slip and we can pick up the victory. One mistake from either of you and we go from the team you have to fight again like some sort of inconvenience to the guys that just beat you.”
Krown: “One mistake and we may just get the pin or maybe we get one of you to submit, and that is Checkmate.”
Murphy: “One win, and after One Night in Hell, it is our turn and that is Murphy’s Law.”
Krown: “And we are Sang Réal.”
The scene fades to black on the image of Murphy and Krown in those high backed leather chairs.
