[The walk to my office wasn't exactly a pleasant one. Cole and I had business to take care of, but I couldn't get One Night in Hell off of my mind!]
Turner
Can I ask you something?
Havok
Sure, go for it!
Turner
You own this place, right?
Havok
Your point?
Turner
Then why the hell aren't we getting inside with a private escort?
Havok
I might own the place, but I’m not that asshole, Cole. The people who work here, they had to walk from the parking garage, too. Why shouldn’t I? Now, can I ask you a question?
Turner
Like I even have a choice…
Havok
Why am I opening the second arena?
Turner
I guess I’m supposed to know what in the hell you’re talking about?
Havok
One Night in Hell. I’m the opening match at the second arena… Now, what does that say to you? I go from making a triumphant return, to ending the career of an identity thief, to opening a contest, at a second arena nonetheless? You tell me, Cole. Does that sound like something a profitable organization would or should do to one of their top talents?
Turner
I don’t know, you seem to be on a losing streak. I mean, aside from what you did to Nancy a few weeks ago. You haven’t done much else, man. Maybe they think you’re losing stock, maybe you have slowed down a bit.
Havok
Maybe I should issue you a drug test, Turner.
Turner
All I’m trying to say, is that maybe you should choose one or the other. Be a businessman, or go back to wrestling. You juggled wrestling and demonology for years! It never got to you, did it? And now, you’re juggling wrestling, demonology, as well as being a businessman. You might be spinning too many plates, Nathaniel.
Havok
You and I both know damn well, that the only way to operate in this realm is to operate aboveground. I can’t do shit anymore, in the Underworld. Besides, spending most of my time up here means that I am easily accessible to the wrestling community. It’s what I do, Cole. Wrestling is what I know. You've been with me for how long, now?
Turner
Going on eight years, give or take.
Havok
Then you should know that I've had moments like these before. And every single time, I've always bounced back. My agenda as of late hasn't exactly been going according to plan. I think it’s time to throw the agenda out the window, and start over. Play it by ear, get a feel for what we've got going, and continue to rebuild. This “Havey Creations” business we've got going, it works perfectly! We target the entertainment industry, and we work demonology from aboveground. Besides, I've got an idea that I want to test out. A theory, if you will.
Turner
Oh yeah? And what in the hell might that be?
Havok
Are you doubting me?
Turner
Well, let’s just say that your ideas as of late, haven’t really been that good.
Havok
Aside from the fact that I’m going to make you pay for that later, I’m thinking about the Four Horsemen.
Turner
Are we talking wrestling, or demons?
Havok
Demons, of course.
Turner
Are you kidding? Don’t you remember what happened to them last time?
Havok
Yeah, and I hold the key to their resurrection.
Turner
You also hold the key to your demise, if that’s the case. The Horsemen only care about the end. They will stop at nothing to bring this world down.
Havok
But they've never crossed the Source!
Turner
Neither had the Triad, until you took power! What is it about you, that makes your own people NOT like you?
Havok
I’m not really sure. Call me Obama, I guess.
Turner
Well then, Obama… What’s the plan?
Havok
The plan is to win on Sunday. I guess I haven’t been doing well these days, and I’m in an opening match with a bunch of jobbers, who couldn't even carry my jockstrap! I guess I have a thing or two to prove, don’t I?
Turner
You’re not going to be able to do that, unless you figure out WHY you’re not doing so well in the ring these days. Figured it out yet?
Havok
It’s these damn agendas! We keep working towards a goal that isn't golden. I need to get my mind back on track, and stop with all of this vengeance. The main goal is to carry gold around your waste, and that’s what I need to focus on. What does Jeff hate the most? Jeff hates Havok wearing his company titles. That’s the best way to get to him, not by trying to take over his company! And how do I obtain gold? I beat the shit out of whoever they put in front of me, no matter HOW MANY they put in front of me.
Turner
You lost to Leon Roberts! You’re never going to live that one down!
Havok
In your human form, do you honestly think that you could beat Leon Roberts?
Turner
Irrelevant, I’m not a wrestler.
Havok
Fair enough. However, you must understand my position. Right now, I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I’m losing value, apparently. I need a pay per view win, to begin my momentum gain. And beating seven other guys in one match, that’s a hell of a momentum boost, if you ask me!
Turner
You just called them jobbers.
Havok
Compared to me, they are jobbers. Cole, I’m Nathaniel Havok. I've done more in this business, then all of them combine! But past accolades aside, I’m starting anew. Sunday night at One Night in Hell, is the rebirth of the Enforcer of Sorrow! A rebirth that will lead to me gaining the ultimate prize, in due time. However, we have to start somewhere. And Sunday night, that’s a pretty good start.
Turner
Just make sure that you’re prepared. Which means that you should probably leave while you can, before anybody sees you here. You know that they’re all going to have questions, so why are you even here right now?
Havok
Again, I’m the boss. If I tell them to leave me alone, they will leave me alone. With that being said, are you with me or against me, here?
Turner
I’m with you, of course! Why else would I be telling you to get out of here, and focus on the match?
Havok
Fair enough.
[We had walked all the way from the parking garage, into the building that now houses “Havey Creations”, an “entertainment” company that I had created, to help market various mass media outlets. Well, that’s what the world thinks, anyways. My underlying agenda is to work demonology aboveground, and this was the perfect way to do it. Not only can I make tons of money, but I can also spread the gospel of my dominion. It was the perfect idea, but I wasn't going to let it distract me from what I had to do in APW. As we walked through the front doors, several people saw my face. I knew that I was about to be bombarded by people wanting answers, answers that I didn't quite have yet.]
Havok
Want to see how to avoid the trouble? Watch this…
[As people stormed over to my side with questions a plenty, I breezed past them, getting onto the elevator and quickly closing the door. Leaving Cole to answer questions, I knew I’d have plenty of time to get to my office.]
- - - - - - - - - -
[With Cole out of the way, it was time to really get to work. I knew that I had a short amount of time, before Cole would make his way into my office. And as furious as he might be with me leaving him to do the answering, I knew that he’d be even more pissed off, knowing that I still had an agenda. An agenda that didn't involve him, nor did he know about, I knew that I had to be as sneaky as possible to pull it off.]
Havok
Barbas? BARBAS, DAMN YOU!
[Shimmering into the room, was my longtime ally turned rival, Barbas.]
Barbas
My apologies, lord. After all you've done to free me from purgatory, the least I could do is be on time.
Havok
Yeah, how about me start by not being an asshole, first?
Barbas
As you wish.
[As I sat at my desk, Barbas began looking around the room. He walked over to the wall, noticing a picture of Cole and myself at the Havey Creations groundbreaking, just a few short months ago. I couldn't help but wonder why the picture was making him chuckle.]
Barbas
He’s always been a good lapdog to you, hasn't he? So loyal, always honest. Even the Source before you, couldn't have gotten such loyalty from him. You remember what he did to the old Source, don’t you?
Havok
I’m aware.
Barbas
Imagine what he would think if he knew that you were saving and working with demons that you ordered him to kill. Let alone, plotting with them, while lying to him. If you ask me, you’re spinning awful lot of plates, my lord.
Havok
Again, I’m aware. You’re not the first to say that to me today.
Barbas
I assume we’re not here for small talk and chit chat, though. So, to what do I owe the honor of your summons?
Havok
I need you, Barbas. I don’t need you for our plans just yet, but I need you professionally right now.
Barbas
Ah, yes! Working for Havey Creations… What every demon aspires to do with their life.
Havok
No, not here.
Barbas
Another business venture? Adding anymore plates to your load, might cause you to drop them… I don’t think that would be wise.
Havok
No, not another business venture.
[He finally got it, he knew what I was saying. Without even having to say it, I think he already knew exactly where I was going with this idea. As he waved his hand over my face, I could tell that his reading was true. However, I had no clue if his words would be as true as his reading.]
Barbas
Watch for Peter Shelly. I see a strong will from him, a presence unlike any other in this match. Of course, I speak not of yours. Your presence will always be a strong force, but this guy is hungry enough to outlast you. If you’re to win on Sunday, you must do so by keeping your eye on him. Stalk his every move, and even when you’re not watching him, you need to be watching him.
Havok
I had a feeling that you were going to say something about Shelly right out of the gate. The guys got something special, I’m not going to deny that. What about Evan? Anything about him?
Barbas
McDonald is a wildcard in this, a tossup to say the least. He could just as easily steal this victory out from under your nose, just as quick as Shelly could. Both men pose a threat to your victory.
Barbas:
I easily see you picking up this win on Sunday, but I also see you easily being defeated. It seems as if your lackluster performances in recent memory, stem from a lack of drive. I revert back to the “too many spinning plates” comment, that you've heard more than once today. Your focus shouldn't be driven down opposite roads. Rather, your focus should be on what means the most to you at this point in time. If you allow Cole to take over Underworld and aboveground rule, that will leave you free to handle your business in APW. No longer will you be opening matches, losing matches, or tarnishing your professional wrestling legacy. You’ll be free to focus on the wrestling business, free of all stresses that come with being the Source.
[Yeah, he’s being honest. I couldn't have said it better myself, although I had been saying it all along in my head. I needed time to rebuild my legacy in wrestling, before I could focus half of my energy on the Underworld, as well as Havey Creations. However, the two do go hand-in-hand.]
Barbas
If you’d like, I can help Cole.
Havok
Cole doesn't trust you.
Barbas
But you do?
Havok
I never said that. It’s up to you, to earn back that trust. This is your last chance, and you know it.
Barbas
Call him up here, let’s see what he says? What could it hurt? I mean, if he doesn't, I’m here for the taking. You could always vanquish me right back down to purgatory, where you found me. Right, my lord?
[What the hell, it couldn't hurt. As I attempted to figure out a way to break the news to Cole, I really didn't know how he would react. But the bottom line is that I am the Source, and I make the rules. If his loyalty to me really is as strong as he’s made everyone believe that it is, he’ll understand my position, as well as my reasoning behind it.]
Havok
Shimmer out for a minute. If he comes in and sees you right away, he might try to vanquish you.
[As Barbas agreed with a nod and shimmered out of the room, I couldn't believe I was about to do, what I told myself I would never do… Reveal to Cole that I had resurrected a demon that I had ordered him to kill…]
Havok
Balthazar, let your presence be known!
[Cole shimmered into the room with a very disappointing look on his face. I knew he was angry, but I didn't care.]
Turner
You want to explain to me, what that was back there? Leaving me to do bitch work?
Havok
You told me that you wanted to help me focus on APW, and you did. Now, bitterness aside, I need you to understand a few things. Number one, everything I do is not for me. Everything I do is for US. By us, I mean the Underworld, as well as you and I. Number two, your loyalty to me means everything. I couldn't even begin to thank you enough for everything that you've done for me, and all the times you've had my back. Number three, I…
Turner
Where are you going with this?
[And here we go…]
Havok
Sometimes, in life, as well as in business, you must do things that you’re not so proud of doing. You must swallow your pride, pull all resources, and do what’s best for the betterment of your establishment. That’s what I've done here, Cole. I needed help, and I went out and found it. Now you’re going to work alongside him, for the betterment of our establishment. For the betterment of the Underworld.
Turner
What the hell are you talking about? Who is it?
Havok
Barbas, you can come in now.
[The look on Cole's face, hadn't changed. However, the expression had deepened. As Barbas shimmered into the room, I could feel the sting of betrayal coming from the soul of my loyal subject.]
Barbas
Balthazar! It’s a pleasure to see you again.
[As Cole sized up the situation, I had no clue what he was about to do. Barbas, on the other hand, felt as if he was untouchable, staring at Cole with a cocky smirk on his face.]
Turner
You son of a bitch!
To be continued…
