The weights felt good in his hands. His muscles screamed in agony as they were pushed to their limits. He smiled as he sped up his reps, Loving the burn as old muscles were torn down and new ones built. The sweat began to pour off of him until he heard the timer finally go off. He replaced the bar on the cradle and sat up on the bench. Chad took one last look around the old gym before heading down for a swim. The gray walls were cracked and pealing and the white ceiling looked yellow. The machines were outdated and no one seemed to enjoy the free weights anymore. Not as much as he did. Free weights gave such a more purer definition than the machines did.
Still, This place had been his home away from home since he was old enough to escape the arguing and fighting going on at home. His real parents had been killed in a car accident when he was Two and he was adopted by the Crisp family who changed his last name to theirs. They fought from the moment he walked into the front door. He longed for the day when he could get away from them. Then the beatings began, Even when he did nothing at all. He remembered the first time, All he did was ask his dad to stop hitting his mom. His dad turned to him and said, Oh you a man now. Then preceded to kick my ass.
The memory sent a chill down his spine. He had been sore for a month after that. Then he began getting bigger and learned how to take care of himself. It wasn't long before he was fighting his dad back and kicking his ass. After that the coward left and Chad was out in the streets. He grew up quick and he grew up tough. He would give his adopted dad credit for that.
The sound of someone calling out to him brought him out of his thoughts.

I wish you all the best my friend. Take care of business man. Take care of business. We'll be here if you ever need us.
Chad Crisp
I know that. I will definitely be back to visit. This could be my shot. I'm tired of sitting back and wondering what if. I'm in the best shape of my life. It's now or never.
Diablo
I know. Still I hate to see you go. You have grown so much since we first saw you, A young tough punk who didn't give a shit about anything. You had a chip on your shoulder from day one because of what you went through. It took a while for you to learn to trust someone again. Now look at you, You look like you really could defeat the world.
Chad Crisp
Not the whole world, Just about a tenth of it. Keep in touch my friend.
He walked out into the bright sunlight and shook as the cool breeze reminded him it was the end of December. He would be glad when this year was done and over with. It sure had been a long one. Now things looked like they were changing for the better. He walked over to his car and cursed out loud when he saw the parking ticket on his windshield. He looked at the meter and saw that he even had time left yet. The officer was surely wrong but what the hell could he do. They would swear he put it in later.
He opened his trunk and grabbed his AK47. After emptying the clip into the parking meter he put his friend back in the trunk and closed it. He climbed into his 1969 Dodge Charger and started the engine. It began to roar and come to life like a giant beast returning from the dead. He could feel the hunger and the drive flowing as he put the car into gear and pulled out. The car seemed to beg for him to go faster as his foot lowered the accelerator to the floor. Tires screamed as they felt their skin being burned off in a cloud of smoke. The Charger lunged forward and was gone in seconds flat.
He pulled into the airport and parked his car in the designated area before catching a plane for Las Vegas, Nevada. He would sign his contract at the Grand Plaza and then head out for the Fremont street experience. See if lady luck was on his side and visit the four queens. he had it all planned as he walked up to the security area and showed them his pass.
Officer One
I'm sorry Mr. Crisp but there was a problem in first class because of too many tickets being sold. We were able to find you a spot in coach however on the same flight. Just follow the signs through to boarding.
That was about right. Oh well, It didn't much matter he would still get there at the same time. He was just lucky there was a spot open in coach. Or was he? He found his seat. Of course it would be a center seat with some old man snoring in the outer seat and a heavyset woman sitting by the window. As soon as Chad sat down he wished she could open that window to let some of the funk out. Both of them were asleep. The old man had drool dripping down from his chin and was out like a light. The woman's mouth was watering as she smiled. Her stomach roared as if she hadn't eaten in a week. She shuttered and woke up with a start when she noticed him next to her. he hoped she wouldn't speak to him with that foul breath of hers. Instead she reached into her purse and pulled out a Turkey Leg. She took a huge bite out of it and offered him a bite. Chad shook his head as she took another bite and put it back in her purse. Before long her head was leaning against the window and she was out again.
Then the farting began. he couldn't take it any more. He stood up and began to make his way to the aisle when the plane began to move and the fasten seat belt lights came on. A stewardess came over and made his sit back down and put his seat belt on. Before doing so he grabbed the mask from above and put it on his face. It was going to be a long flight.
By the time they touched down at McCarran International Airport Chad was about to lose his mind. He couldn't wait to get to his hotel room and take a long shower. At least he knew the room would be there. He had made sure of it way in advance. It cost him a little bit but hell, He was worth it. His back was sore from the four year old who kept kicking the back of his seat and saying Hey, I four Year Old.
He walked out of the airport and was glad to see his ride waiting there. One of the comps that went along with the extra he paid. A nice 2012 Chevy Camaro. It wasn't what he was used to but he bet it still had some balls. He couldn't wait to take it out by Henderson and try it out. That would be later though. First he needed a good shower and he would have the valet spray his car so the funk didn't linger.
He made his way down Las Vegas BLVD towards Fremont street and pulled up to the valet area. After giving the necessary instructions he headed up to his room. It was only moments before he was under the hot stream and felt it washing the filth off of him. After showering he dressed in his dark blue jeans and his Chad Crisp 'Come get some' T-Shirt. <soon to be on sale in stores near you> He stepped into the elevator and pushed the top button. After scanning his pass to gain access the elevator began to move. Here he comes APW, I hope your ready for this. Shit, I hope I'm ready for this.
