"Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...What to do, what to do? I could kill his dog, does he have a dog? We can get him a dog and then kill it? No, no...that won't work.."
The voice belonged to Jason Cashe. A man who had bled for a company and the Brand he was on for 4 years. Asylum was it, it was where he was destined to be and it was why he never moved to Overdrive but for appearances. Not because there was some difference in talent because Asylum rose in that department and at times could match Overdrive in that. He liked the style, the cause and purpose of what Asylum stood for. Where it had come from and where he wanted to help carry it too and it did rise. With names like Anthony Bailey, Sally Talfourd and Aubrey James Parker, it rose in talent. "So...am I just sitting in on this or do you want me to leave?"
Tidus Howe. A man APW had seen in the past and a man that Jason Cashe had taken back in but his role was much more increased this time around. Tidus was the lead, he was the thinker that Cashe needed for anything outside the ring. It was no secret that Cashe was quick to react and inside the ring, inside of a conflict or fight that was a positive but Tidus was a thinker for times outside of the ring, outside of a fight or conflict. "Nah, you good man. I'm just trying to keep my cool as this match comes closer." It was understandable. This was a match at RassleMania after all and being the LAST Mania? It was obvious he would have some mixed emotions.
"It's weird seeing you love and care for something like this..I mean outside of your Addiction to Action and Marijuana, what else is there?!"
"Where do you think I discovered that? All my career I've just gone out there and fought. I lowered my head and went at someone with everything I have but with APW...I had to adjust. I was forced to improve, grow as both a man and an athlete. I've never spent this long with ONE promotion in my entire career, never have I cared about one Companies Banner as much as I have and did Asylum. Bailey represents that very thing in his own way and if people looked, it wouldn't be the only thing we have in common.."
The darkness of the room only gave enough light to make out the two bodies moving about. A small faded orange light dangles from the ceiling. The voices are clearly recognized though as Cashe begins speaking again.
"We've both been Break Out stars on Asylum! Both winning a TapOut Title before becoming World Champions. Both of us having been Tag Team of the Year! We have so much in common that it almost HURTS me to see it myself!" His voice strained with emotion as if bothered by the comparisons he himself had just given. You're both the same height and weight too which is...creepy!" Tidus bellows out through the dark room.
"Creepy? You want to see creepy?" Cashe says as the lights in the room begin to flicker like a Rental Storage. As the room lights up, you can see Tidus Howe sitting in a wooden chair at the main door of the Storage room. His eyes wide as his looks around at the room. The walls are covered in pictures of Anthony Bailey. Some inside the ring, some in private pictures of his time at home or with his current girlfriend Camila Martinez. Older photos of when he was APW World Champion. Cashe has a smile on his face as he slowly twirls around the empty Storage Room. Tidus stands there stunned.
"THIS IS CREEPY! Look at my pictures! See his happiness? See his enjoyment of LIFE? You see the picture, I see the person in the pictures and that man is Anthony Bailey!" He has a pitch in his voice, excitement echoing with every word as Tidus Howe just stares on blankly. "I thought I hated Bailey, I thought I wanted to see his career finished right after he took the World Title from me. Then I just wanted to beat him, to know I could and I was forced to take his attention to get it BUUTTT I won when I got it! Now? Now I am seeing him and our history in a whole new way!" He smells the air, his eyes closed, his head tilted back a bit as he enjoys the moment of clarity.
"Sooo...is this a sexual thing? Do I need to know something here man?" In part he must have been joking. But his eyes showed a serious nature from the question and Jason Cashe took it serious as well. His eyes open and his gaze locks on Tidus from across the room. "I ain't no gay! I don't even like mud fucking a chick, that's filthy and I only go as low as Foul! This isn't about sex but the fight of a rival. This is Batman and fucking Joker for me! Greeks and Persians, England and the New World! This is SPARTA! RRRRAAAAH!!!" The battle roar vibrates in echo inside the room as Cashe big boots the wall nearby and Tidus cringes a little. As the vibes die down, Tidus gets up from the chair he's sitting in.
"I can see that your itching for a Shot of Action right now and I for one don't wish to be "bump" to fix it so I'm gonna go.." He speaks calmly hoping to have some control over the situation but Cashe isn't that gone. He isn't that much of a loose cannon to where he'd attack friendlies and allies to get a taste of his drug of choice. He almost laughs as he long steps over to Howe. Patting him on the shoulder, Cashe brings him in for a hug and squeezes him from the side a little tight. "I wouldn't hurt you, you's my buddy! You should take off though because I'm gonna express some of those "feelings" you don't like being around for...Mmmkay?" Almost playfully he speaks the words and Tidus Howe just shakes his head in disbelief. He leaves and Cashe watches as the door down the hallway from the Storage Unit closes before reentering the room and closing the big door. Cutting himself off from the rest of the building so to speak and the room darkens a little more but the light keeps it well lit for clear visual.
"Look how happy you two are! Just nice to see that you've recovered after the Tasha Saga? You remember! When I took her and yeah I thought about taking this new girl. The tattooed one but where is the fun in doing that again? You've already felt that pain, tapped into that emotional hatred for me haven't you? Why not go for a new high, find that Jedi Mind Trick to get the Advantage this time! So I got to thinking and maybe I'm not the best guy for that job but play along will ya? I made a list of things I could do to you! I thought to stalk your Mother, watch her and find that right moment to Mug her and have it filmed only to take off a mask at the end to SHOW you what I had done. Tidus put that idea into the ground though because legally it'd be against the law, more so than usual."
He looks a bit disappointed as he reaches over and plucks a picture off the wall. The taped corners rip, leaving pieces of the picture stuck to the wall where he got it from. He looks at it and suddenly finds something funny.
"I also thought about buying a ticket to a Pure Wrestling show just to jump the railing and interrupt one of your matches but I decided better to let garbage get trashed and watched that ship sink. What is funny is that you nor AJP could save that promotion but both of you were deemed better talent on this roster than I was by the time both of you became World Champions. Here I stand though with a Championship in a new Promotion as it's LEAD with people like Mannie who is dodging me like he got me pregnant and needs to go on Maury! Or Havok who well is Havok and if he comes, he gets put down like any other time we've had a straight up match. I should have appeared though, beat down AJP with a sock full of Silver Dollars and pissed onto your unconscious open mouthed face...
However I remembered something. I remembered that APW had some events left. They were pushing to host one more Survive & Conquer and one final RassleMania and that is all it took to lay out my current plans for you. Why travel to some new land to finish this rivalry Bailey when APW is giving us ONE FINAL CHANCE to tie up loose ends? Maybe people expected, would have preferred you and AJP? Maybe if not for me you'd be in Logan Alexander's spot fighting one more time for a shot at the Undisputed Championship! Like Logan, it would have been an undeserved opportunity. See last time, last TWO times we've fought, I won. I came back like it was the Finals of the NBA Championship Series and tied shit up 2 versus 2. Time has passed since even then though. We've both had changes in our lives, made some progressions and now maybe for the last time ever we find out who is the better man standing."
Cashe flings the picture away and slowly pulls another from the wall. It's a rare picture of Bailey jogging in the early morning. Some mist seen in the picture as Bailey is taking a step forward.
"Last One Standing...Just the name of the match can get my blood boiling. I am pumped for this match! It's what has kept me from doing you bodily harm outside the ring. The ideas to pay some thugs to watch you and break into your home, trash the place and you and then leave an APW World Title as my calling card. Not because I couldn't do it but because to know that you'd prefer it being me and not getting what you want would only make you angrier! I LOVE that! I just love knowing you will be 100% for this match more..To know that win or lose, stand tall or fall that I will have the most complete and ready Anthony Bailey to date. I know you haven't been working anywhere since Pure and I don't blame you. Being unable to help carry a promotion with all the hype you've had must have been tough. It's because Jair Hopkins was and always has been what made you COOL. You were just the one promoted and pushed. Or would you disagree that Hopkins was held back in APW?
Speaking of being held back...Don't hold back in this match Bailey. Don't let that "Good Boy" image stop you from a calculated decision to fuck my shit up if you get the chance. If the thought of something nasty enters your head, go with it. I want everything you can muster up and more Bailey because then I can know that when I make it to my feet and you don't before the count of 10 that I bested Anthony Bailey for the final time. That no matter what people say about this feud, this rivalry that it was ME who won in the end. It was me who did horrible things to you and those you love and still came out the match as the victor! In comics, in movies and television the good guy always comes back and wins. That's the norm. In this business the bad guy, the negative thinker, the one looking to use the foulest fucking tactics can win the war. I am going into this match looking for a war Bailey..."
Suddenly he begins to growl a bit, hyping himself up for the upcoming battle. Losing his control, his rage taking over. His addiction fighting with his conscious mind on who runs the ship. He starts ripping pictures off the wall in a rush, swiping them off, tossing them back like he's clawing through the wall itself. His breathing gets rapid and he slows down to pace himself and calm his nerves but his growl returns matched with a crackling inhale and exhale of air.
"I hit you with a pipe, I've super glued you to the floors backstage, I've done unspeakable things to you and you STILL forgave me. You made peace with me before APW closed. I never understood that. How can you put aside everything so personal that was done to you and make amends? Is it religious beliefs because you should know that if the answer to that is yes then I will make SURE that when we are inside that ring that the FEAR OF GOD will be placed upon you for the mistake of looking the other way on my evil deeds. You will be struck down on with a vengeance that knows no religion, that knows no sorrow for someone's limits. I will break you with what you feel is your strengths and hurt you with what makes you weak. There is NOBODY fighting harder on this event than the man you are stuck locking horns with. You are my Rival, I am your Enemy and there isn't a soul on this planet I'd rather end this Promotion with...So you have my respect."
He scratches his bearded cheek as he feels he needs to explain that one more after all they've been through.
"I don't respect you as a man or a person for that matter. What I respect is what you are capable of inside the ring. It's a challenge, it's a limit break to me because in our matches we clash like the sharpest swords. I seen your potential before most people so it's only fair that you end your spotlight filled career in APW with the guy who helped launch it into a Main Event player. That's the respect you get from me. I will still rip your face off and use it as toilet paper...Is that gay? Guys are gross, eww!"
His voice was very stuck up and snobby as he said that last line. He begins looking around trying to locate his 4CW Southwest Championship Title. Finding it, he flings it up onto his shoulder.
"Do you know that other than James Chambers, not another APW World Heavyweight Champion has held that title LONGER than me? Not Michael Callahan, not Sally Talfourd, Phil Atkens, or even Level One. I defended my reign Bailey and you just failed in your attempt but "The Promise" was still there, the fans still cheered so it wasn't THAT bad right? You went on to become one half of what might have been the best Tag Team in APW History. Did you even beat AJP one on one? Did you beat Callahan at least? I know I beat them and Sally Talfourd as well once or twice but I'm sure she'll tell you I sound like a broken record, I just like seeing if it annoys her that I even mentioned her name. (Hi, Sally) At the end of the day Bailey, we have somethings in common but what we share, we have even more that is different about us. Pound for Pound, Success to Success I am just better than you and at RassleMania X, I will prove it ONE more time as I will be the LAST MAN STANDING....Over you...
I will do it for my own personal gain.
I will do it also for Action.
The drug I crave and find an Addiction from.
You are my favorite Strain and APW my favorite Dealer.
One Last Taste straight from the Source...See you soon.."
He pulls on the cord to kill the lights and exits the room as the cameras fade out and the scene freezes on a black screen.
