::A few clouds slowly drift across the blue sky on the California coastline near San Francisco. The waves are small on the ocean today. The crash gently into a rocky outcropping.::
::Standing on that outcropping, looking over the water, wearing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt with a stylized phoenix on the front and an open jacket, with the APW North American Championship around her waist is “the Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing.::
::The woman who, as of RassleMania X, will have held the title for 213 days, the unofficial longest reign in the company’s history, stands on the outcropping and looks out to the water. She stood here before, a little less than a year ago, before the final Monday Night Meltdown where she last faced Young Mannie.::
“I honestly did not think a career could be summed up in one match, but here we are, and somehow APW found a way to do it at RassleMania X. I think most of my APW carrer can be summed up in pursuit of the APW North American Championship, Young Mannie and Robina Hood. All this match needs is Sienna Harrison added to it and we have pretty much have my APW career summarized in one match. Although, honestly, I would rather not add Sienna Harrison, mostly because I think at that point, she, Robina and Mannie would just gang up on me, and as it stands right now, I may just have them ganging up on me. Also, she would have to play favorites, and then it becomes complicated. Granted, as a triple threat match, this is already pretty complicated, but I don’t think it needs more complications. This will be hard enough. I mean, I don’t need to be pinned to loose this match, or the North American Championship and honestly, if I am going to lose this title, I would rather be pinned myself to loose than someone else be pinned or made to submit and I lose the title. I mean I know I am not likely to submit anytime soon as a matter of principle. But it would a bit disappointing to lose without losing. And I think it would be a rather terrible way to say good-bye and celebrate Action Packed Wrestling.”
::She stops talking as she realizes she is pretty much just rambling at this point and closes her eyes. She takes a deep breath and exhales slowly to regain her focus and her center. She opens her eyes.::
“When you get right down to it, that’s what RassleMania X is when you think about it. It is a good-bye. It is a good-bye to our fans. It is a good-bye to everyone who has ever wrestled or worked for Action Packed Wrestling. It is a good-bye to Action Packed Wrestling itself. But at the same time, it is a celebration of everything that made Action Packed Wrestling what it was.”
::Amy smiles. She looks a bit sad, lost in the nostalgia of the year she has spent in APW, with all it’s ups and downs and twists and turns, its triumphs and failures.::
“For better or worse, I am very proud of the year or more I spent in Action Packed Wrestling. I accomplished more here than I think anyone would have guessed me capable of doing, or at the very least, thought I would given my track record. But now, the time has come for me to say good-bye.”
::A breeze runs through her hair. Amy brushes a few loose strands from her face as she looks out over the water. The waves keep hitting the rocks.::
“But that’s okay, because life is made up of “hellos” and “good-byes”. We all meet people that have some influence on our lives, not matter how small it may seem. And we all eventually say good-bye to many of those people. There is a fair chance that I may never see any of the opponents I have wrestled here in APW ever again. That is okay, because I will keep going and I will find new opponents to wrestle. I would like to believe my fans will follow me wherever I go, but I may not sign with a place that has television access right away, so I may lose them, and I will miss them dearly. But, if it is meant to be, they will come back to cheer me on again along with the new fans I make. And I will miss the friends I have made here. I honestly hope we can still keep in touch after it is all over.”
“It is sad to think that there will be no tomorrow for Action Packed Wrestling after RassleMania X. For the final time, someone will defend the North American Championship. Honestly, I never actually thought it would be me. The past few months, winning this title, holding it as long as I have, have meant everything to me. If this is to be my good-bye to APW, if this is to be the last match I ever wrestle for this company, then like a phoenix, I will go down in a blaze of glory before I rise again.”
::She sighs a bit and wipes her eyes. It is hard to tell if she had tears in them or not.::
“So, now I find my good-bye, my final blaze in APW, is to face the two wrestlers I once called Sienna Harrison’s chosen Megastars, Young Mannie and Robina Hood. I think most of my career has been matches against these two. Quite frankly, the only one I feel actually deserves the opportunity is Robina.”
::Amy Zing. “the Hong Kong Sensation” and the current reigning and defending North American Champion takes a breath and exhales slowly. She is trying to keep her calm, but given who she is addressing, it is a difficult task. Already, the anger and hate seems to bubble to the surface.::
“Young Mannie, I really can honestly say that I do not hate a lot of people in this world. It is a very short list and yet, you managed to make it on there. And while you may think it is mostly due to your abduction my parents, which I am still rather irritated that no repercussions were ever met out, it is not the reason why I find myself hating. No Mannie. I hate you because you are a spineless, pathetic, cowardly excuse of a man who is unable to fight his own battles and needs to hide behind others or have someone quiet honestly carry you, and yet, rather than work on this, rather then try to be better, you act as if you are the greatest wrestler in the world.”
“Do you recall how we first met? I do. You returned to APW, going on about your girlfriend, how people watched her get beaten down and how you were going to make them pay and then pretty much immediately forgot about that. Your uncle solicits me to be a prostitute, and then you, like the pathetic coward you are, attacked me from behind.”
“You may think what we had was a feud, and that’s fine. What I consider it was a sniveling child who started something and then went to mommy to protect him rather than face the consequences of his actions.”
“I attack Uncle Charlie, you run to Sienna. I try to go after you, you run to Sienna. We step into the ring, Sienna is there again to help you by sending Kaylyn James Evans to save your worthless ass. That hired bodyguard of yours? No matter what you say Mannie, the entire world knows the reason you hired him was to protect yourself from the small little Asian girl you pissed off. You started a fight and did not have the stones to finish.”
::She is trying very hard not to sound like she is yelling, but there is a shockingly harsh tone in her voice. It is one that is not often heard from her.::
“You CANNOT stand on your own ability Mannie. Every time we wrestled, someone helped you win, except for that last time. Remember how that went, our match at the final episode of Meltdown? I took out your entourage, made it one-on-one and I left you lying in the middle of the ring.”
“You do not deserve to be in this match Mannie. You do not deserve to be in the same ring as myself and Robina, and you most certainly not deserve to be given an opportunity at a title you were literally handed by a woman you disappointed again and again when she thought you could actually be worth something and made a star.”
::For a moment, she allows herself a cruel smile, but it fades away.::
“Honestly Mannie, how does it feel to know that Robina and I have, to use the colloquialism, bigger balls than you? How does it feel to know that Sienna replaced you as her hand picked wrestler with someone far superior than you? How does it feel to know that while she had to hold your hand every step of the way to actually try and make you less of a disappointment, your replacement was better and far more capable than you could ever be? How does it feel to know that your replacement, a woman, was everything you never were, and are never going to be, you spineless, sackless, miserable, sniveling, and cowardly, worthless disgrace of a man who has to be carried like a baby because he is incapable of doing anything on his own?”
::Despite not rambling, Amy still stops herself and closes her eyes. Again, she takes a deep breath and exhales slowly to center herself. She opens her eyes, but does not seem apologetic for the things she said.::
“You and I, Robina, what we had, what we did in the ring when we faced each other, what we did to each other? Now that was a feud. And yet, I never hated you. I know you didn’t like me. I honestly doubt you respect me, or ever will no matter how many times we wrestle, or what the outcome of the match may be. I think, in another life, in another world, you and I could have been friends. But I think fate conspired to make us enemies. Still, and it may sound strange, I respect you and even admire you a little.”
“You were Sienna’s hand picked Megastar, Robina. She got her claws into you almost the second you walked in the door and made your debut here. Mannie had failed to live up to expectations in fantastic fashion by being a spectacular failure. You were different. You were everything Mannie proved to be incapable of being. He was a like a child that started a fight, but then ran away crying to some authority figure when someone fought back. You were nothing like that. You were a weapon, like a bomb or a missile or something. All Sienna had to do was point you in the right direction, at the target and either the job was done or you missed. But whatever happened, whatever the outcome, you were always there, standing on your own feet, having won or lost based on your own ability.”
::The were brutal. They were wars. There is really no other way to describe it when Amy Zing and Robina Hood wrestle each other. They seem ready to kill each other. Still, even with that in mind, Amy Zing is smiling at the memory of her feud with Robina Hood.::
“You and I, we barely seem to have matches. We just have wars. Win, lose or draw, one of us wins because of our own skill or ability or our own merit. You never ran from a fight Robina. You never started something you could not finish. You never started a fight and then ran to Sienna to protect you when it got tough or the other guy started fighting back. You never needed Sienna to win your matches for you.”
“I have said it several times, and will say it again; Sienna chose well when she decided you would be the one to replace Young Mannie as her hand picked Megastar. You tried and failed several times to become North American Champion, but after every failure, you got back up and tried again. You beat The Guv’Nor for the title on your own ability and skill. You didn’t need Sienna to send in outside interference or a crooked referee or anything like that. If Meltdown was still a show, and you had not been drafted, I have no doubt you would have had a long and successful reign as its champion.”
::She nods a bit, as she brushes a strand of hair from her face.::
“I remember our first match, that ladder match where you tried to keep me from getting a match against Sienna. That was brutal. We had that no disqualification match on my final appearance at Meltdown. I was feeling the aftermath that weekend. It was the only match we had where Sienna injected herself. But I think our greatest match, our most brutal, was the night we wrestled for the North American Championship. It was the greatest match of my life, and I am not saying that just because I won mind you. No. Even if I lost, I would have considered it the greatest match I have been in. It was just one of those nights were everything clicked. We threw everything at each other that we could and it still wasn’t enough to get the job done. Honestly, Robina, you beat the hell out of me. I think I wrestled most of that on instinct and that stubbornness of mine to just keep getting up. I was mostly on adrenaline at the end.”
“Mannie brings out a need in me to just keep kicking him in the head until I actually hear his neck snap or he just goes limp. I don’t have that need with you Robina. You bring out a need in me to be better, to push myself beyond what I think I can do and to just let go of whatever is holding me back. That is what a great rival is supposed to do; they are supposed to make you be better than you are, they are supposed to bring out your best. That is why I do not consider Mannie a rival. You, on the other hand, Robina, are the greatest rival I have had in my entire career, and I will honestly, truly miss you.”
::Smiling a bit, Amy giggles a bit.::
“As weird and strange and bizarre, and maybe even masochistic as that sounds, I am going to miss you Robina, because I know it will be a long time before I find a rival like you again.”
::She shakes her head and sighs. She looks up to the sky. The clouds move gently through the air.::
“This is the last time the APW North American Championship will ever be defended. This is the final RassleMania. If someone told me when I first joined APW that over a year later, I would be walking into RassleMania X, the final RassleMania ever, as the final North American Champion, I would have told that person they were crazy.”
::Her hand touches the plate of the North American Championship. She looks down at the title.::
“Few believed I would ever win this championship and few believed I would be able to hold it for as long as I have, probably thinking I would lose it at One Night in Hell. But I did win this championship, and I survived One Night in Hell as champion. Now, I will be walking into RassleMania X as the North American Champion and I have every intention of leaving still the North American Champion.”
::With practiced movement, she reaches behind herself and unclasps the title belt from her waist. Amy takes it in both hands, looking at the plate that bears the red, white and blue of the United States and the words “APW North American Champion”.::
“Robina, Mannie, this is the final RassleMania, the final good-bye to the ACW and all its fans and the final celebration of everything that made Action Packed Wrestling what it was. I am not going to that ring to try and kick someone’s head off. No, one this night, RassleMania X, I will kick someone’s head off. So Robina, bring me everything you have like you always do and Mannie, just leave the entourage at home and, for one night only, and try to stand on your own feet and be at least half the wrestler, half the man you think you are, because I am coming with everything I have and every intention of leaving it all in that ring.”
::She looks up from the title, out over the water and everything else towards the horizon ahead of her, towards RassleMania.::
“This night, RassleMania X, my good-bye to Action Packed Wrestling will be giving the fans the best I have, one last blaze of glory and I am going to show everyone why I am not only Amy Zing, but why I am the APW North American Champion!”
::“The Hong Kong Sensation” thrusts the North American Championship high above her head.::
“Robina, Mannie, good luck and I will see you, for the last time, at RassleMania X.”
::The scene fades to black on “the Hong Kong Sensation” Amy Zing holding up the North American Championship.::
