"He agreed to appear, that's all I wanted. I finish what started so long ago.."
Since 2006 they have known each others name. Back when Total Carnage Wrestling was the place they both called Home. That was when Jason "Kash" met Johnny Knuckles. Over the years they've been rivals, allies, "frienemies" as some teenager would label it. In any other setting this match wouldn't be any real thrill for him. He's had this victory time and time again, doing it one more time shouldn't be anything special but there was something that made this time different. Not just for Jason but for both men who would step into the Hell In A Cell.
"Do you think he'll come out as Reaver? Wear the mask?" Tidus Howe has only known Knuckles a short time. More stories than experiences when dealing with the man but he knew their history. "Kash" usually got to talking too much when he'd spend a few hours smoking himself into a blubbering fool. Which was usual. "Jason...Jason, can you even hear me? Where do you think he's been? We've looked for him and found nothing, no trace." The questions went unanswered.
As the scene pulls out you see an all Black Short Bus sitting in line at a Drive Through for KFC. "Kash" sitting behind the wheel with Tidus Howe in the front row seat, one of only two bench seats still on the bus. Reaching over, Tidus shoves "Kash" and he comes out of his spaced out stare. "No More Bets!! Huh? I'm awake!"
"Do I need to drive? I can drive, come back here and take a nap. You look wrecked." Thinking his client is dozing off, his offer was for his own safety just as much as Jason's.
"I'm fine. Just thinking about everything. Look at my next few big matches. Before the Reunion show, I have Shane Borderland one on one in 4CW. Then comes Knuckle Fucks but even after that I head to NextGen Wrestling to finally get my hands on Paul Blair! In a short period of time, I will take minutes, hours off the lives of three men who were big parts of my career. All for different reasons and all giving me a high with every hand raised!"
"And to top it off, you're the 4CW Champion! A Champion who is heading into a Fatal Fourway 60 Minute Ironman Match for that Title. You put in work and everyone around you grows because of it. Those fans are starting to notice it too and appreciating it."
Pulling up a few yards as another car leaves the Drive Through lane, "Kash" thinks about the fans and all the times he felt them turn on him during the Bailey/Kash Wars and more recently with the Hopkins/Cashe Series. The Dying Breed was the main focus his last few years in the business but now was time to clean up the past some. Finish and close the book on old feuds and friendships. The Reunion show was the best example of this.
"To answer your question though? I don't know where that Jerky has been. I just know that I helped that bastard find success in APW after he spent a year being the punching bag. I gave him the fire in his gut, the burn to find the fight he had lost. He became a Champion and his return for that assist was to HAND Stefan Raab a victory over me in WarGames? He turned on me!? I shouldn't be so mad about it but even after all this time...I still want to reopen his face scar for doing it though."
"What about Bailey? I hear he'll be at the show as well. Will that be a distraction?" It was a good question, Anthony Bailey was to Jason like Batman was to Joker. Together they defined a rivalry spread across 5 Matches. Not too many from Asylum, Overdrive or APW period can say they ever carried that same kind of heated rivalry but this wasn't about anyone from Golden Boy. At least not right now.
"No this is all about Johnny plus KnoxVILLE and Madison will handle Dying Breed, TJ and Saint too for that matter. This is all about the man that for years I've buried and beaten and watched lay unconscious inside the ring and backstage. Every SINGLE time we've faced, I've won. From the moment we met, I was the better man and he followed me around promotion to promotion, hoping that times would change the outcome but each and every time the outcome was the same. Heh Heh, HE'LL tell you he won a match that I was in but I was injured and he pinned someone else.
He's never, will never pin me to the canvas. For all his wickedness, his violence and skill he just can't help but come up short. This will be no different, I will win but this time I finish the job. He wanted to turn on me, leave the business, return to fight Raab but vanishes as soon as his match is over. He's scared of me. He knows the things I will do to him and he knows why."
"Why? Because he turned on you? Haven't you done far worst to him?"
"Of course! I handcuffed him and beat him with chairs until he had more blood on the outside than he did inside his body. I could have killed him then and I've been handing him his ass since the first match we ever had together. Geez-Us, this line could hurry up I is hungry yo!"
Next to the KFC was a Self Wash Car Wash and "Kash" stares over and watches a man scrub away at his vehicle, soaping it up with the pink foam soap. The Short Bus could use a wash but he wasn't in the move to do the work himself. This wasn't Karate Kid and there wouldn't be any wax on, wax off training. Not for the kind of match he knew was coming with Knuckles. This would be filled with Danger and it rang a bell to how the two men originally came into APW.
"Out of the years I've known Johnny, I've only aligned with him twice. We came into APW together apart of "DangerTainment" and our last run, we were "Foul Play" but we fought between the two alliances, I beat him at RassleMania to defend my then World Championship. Awww the memories I have putting him Under The Influence, under MY Influence and it's been something he just couldn't get out from under. Like a junkie who can't beat the habit, I'm the Addiction he could never beat. I'm the struggle he could never manage to really survive because every time he rose up and wanted to try, I put him back into his rightful place being beneath me."
"Wait so why align with him if you always beat him soundly?" Tidus had a way of wanting to know details. It was annoying at times but it showed his interest in all things Jason and that was his top priority in his job description. Having managed a number of talent from Stefan Raab, Shane Borderland, even NewGen Rising and Kaylyn James Evans, Tidus stuck to his original investment in Jason "Kash". This is where the loyalty between them was formed.
"Because I knew nobody knew me better than someone who has taken it the worst from me. I knew that he would turn on me, expected it but then I met Reaver. Reaver was a different man than Knuckles was, the look in Reaver's eyes was different than I had ever seen in Knuckles. We had an understanding and when the whole world of APW was against me, when I had NOBODY to have my back he was suppose to be there. I just didn't expect him to turn on me at that time. We had bonded, become like Brothers. For the first and only time ever, he was my friend. He handed me to Stefan Raab when I was fighting to keep Raab away from Power in Asylum. Then he ran, then he hid from me. Until now.."
The line moves and "Kash" moves up another spot, now two cars from the order menu. His stomach growls, calling to him for food and he rubs it as if to tell himself soon there will be grub soon. His belly will be full. This of course reminded him of the plate before him, the feast of Action he had been addicted too for so many years in APW. A taste he would once again have.
"Imagine those junkies who bought Walter White's Meth in Breaking Bad. How bad did they craved it after he died in the end, after his product was no longer on the market? They went through withdraws and in that same mindset I have gone through withdraws wanting to be back inside of an APW ring. I was hurt when it closed, ANGRY at how things ended. Feeling screwed out of a Hall Of Fame spot when I was one of only TWO World Title Grand Slam Champions in HISTORY. Can Knuckles says he had the same love I had for this place? The same pride I had even when I was overlooked for what should have been mine but was HANDED to others who hadn't done HALF the shit I did. It took me finding a replacement to get over the hurt in my heart for the hole APW left. Not because I made friends or enjoyed the company on the roster because that'd be a bold faced lie. What I missed was the fight in the competition, the level of talent found in APW. Only in the last year has 4CW replaced that feeling I once had for APW.
Does it mean I won't fight as hard? No, I've never stepped foot in the ring and half assed it. Everyone who has fought me knows I put in the work to make it a competition regardless if I won or lost. Be it Sally Talfourd, (Hi, Sally) Michael Callahan, AJP, Rico Casteel, or even the one match I had with Level One. I've been in the ring with CJ FUCKING Gates and Biggs as partners! I've seen the best of the best in APW. But be it APW, 4CW, NGW, or any promotion on the planet, I always come to fight and bite, claw and scratch, kick, punch and I will put it ALL on the line. I've lost teeth, more recently a fucking NIPPLE! (Thanks Jair Hopkins)
The fact will remain that in this match I will fight to my best abilities. In this fight I can promise people three things. One, I might lose a piece of me, I might lose a toe, another nipple, hell I might lose an eye but he will lose more. I will NOT lose this match and anything I lose, he will lose twice as much. Two...One of us will be thrown or put through the Cell. It will hurt and it will showcase the true nature of the relationship, the HISTORY of Johnny Knuckles and myself. And Three, Johnny Knuckles will never compete again after this...I will see to it personally. This will not be anything new to our timeline..This will be usual business, the history between him and I will repeat itself. The name "Kash" will always beat a Johnny Knuckles. That will never change!
I hope he comes in this match with all the confidence in the world. I know he'll come to fight and that if I launch him from the top of the Cell or put him through the roof, he will no doubt get back up for more. I am not doubting his ability to take a beating, I am saying that's what this will be, another beating, another victory over Johnny Knuckles. The steel will bend against his flesh but his bones will be broken under the pressure I apply. Some graveyard in North Carolina will be the final resting place for the career of Johnny Knuckles, "The Innovator Of Violence", "Mr. Donkey Punch", "The Laughing Punchline". I will be his final moment, may his days inside a ring...Rest in Pieces..."
Finally he is able to pull up to the Order Menu. Opening the side window, he leans up out of his seat and pokes his head out to make his choice. A voice comes through the speaker right on time.
"Welcome to KFC, What can I get you today?"
"Meat. I want to rip the flesh off a bone..."
