Question for my fellow peers: Where do e-feds get their members nowadays? I ask because I've been nostalgic the past week and tried seeing where old friends are/who's around (in SCW, PWR - which I can't find - and others), but I'm struggling to even find hubs where e-feds are advertised.
I know the former Efed Knights scrubbed away anything e-fed related.
CWC was dead before I retired.
I know Roughkut is still around., and saw it mentioned in a few applications.
My brother tells me that Twitter seem to be a recruiting tool nowadays.
I saw places like EWZine, but couldn't tell how active they were.
Thanks for any and all replies!

I just came out of retirement and have actually been wondering the same thing. I used to frequent EFK and CWC but can't find anything similar anymore.

Yeah Twitter seems to be the main tool for advertising these days. Roughkut exists but mostly as a tool for promoting feds on Twitter - I don't think many people actually visit the RK boards for fed info any more. Some of the guys from SCW set up the "One Ring Circus" site/boards/twitter feed with the aim of becoming a promotional hub for feds to recruit and compete, but it's never taken off in a big way despite them doing a pretty good job with it.
To be honest I think that the lack of new recruits to the game has changed the dynamic of recruiting. As most RPers are already "in the loop" so to speak, there's no space for anything like the old ranking sites, instead people rely on word of mouth, in the form of tweets from those already within their circle.

There really isn't anything of note any longer. SCW and APW are the last remaining EFK/CWC feds I believe. Phoenix closed several months ago and most of their members moved to SCW. I believe our old friend Evan Envi is running SCW at the moment.
I have posted on RoughKut and that's really it.

My best promoting tool was Survive and Conquer. Being able to reach out to as many feds as possible and posting an APW link on their boards about a huge event like a 100 man Rumble match, and delivering on the match year after year, and having all those people every year check out the fed and see what we do and how good we did it, is a better long term promoting tool rather than the same generic stuff all feds post on roughkut or other resource sites.
But I also believe building relationships with as many feds as possible, especially new feds is important. The odds of a new fed staying open for long is low, so if your affiliated with a fed that closes after 2 shows, a quick pm to the 2-3 active members may gain you new members.

I loved Survive and Conquer. J-Reb, will it be back, come January?

Just a heads up Jreb, if you want to do the match go ahead. I would suggest doing it on a smaller scale because doing it with a hundred people will burn you out

I was looking for a new Real Wrestler E-Fed to join so I checked out Roughkut and just happened upon a recent thread for this place made the same day I was browsing. Still looking for something real wrestling related but I think that genre may be well and truly dead since I can't find any info.

My advice, go to the old top site links (Chris Harts, Aarons, Jaden, etc) and see if any of the feds listed are still active. That was a major way of real wrestling feds or just google WWE e-fed and something will come up

Never took part in Survive and Conquer always wanted to but never got around to doing so, so if it does come back or if Rebel comes up with a similar concept I probably be taking part in it lol.

- EFK is now MFX, a community for the podcast. Heck, MFX isn't really wrestling related so much anymore, so there's that. - RK is nice, but I even barely go on there much myself. - EWZine is decent enough. - FWrestling has a decent community, but most of the affiliated feds there are angle-based so keep that in mind if you're looking for a fed. Again, the actual community there is pretty cool. - Some goofball thought it'd be a good idea to resurrect the EWPlanet name with a new site. Place looks decent enough, though he needs to get that thing updated with new content and such ASAP. Worth noting is the fact it has some of the old EFK guides up.

Affiliation with other active feds is a very good way to gain new members and visitors.
You can also become active on twitter. Most of the EWC joins in the last 6 months has been via twitter. Don't hound people on twitter or send them DM's asking them to join, too many people are doing that now and it's not good.
EWZine is good and so is E-Wrestling Illustrated, which I actually run.
I don't use any other forums or sites to advertise anymore.
Hope that helps!

You should bring back Battle of the Best I enjoyed winning that tournament - I would come out of retirement for that
