Over the last couple of weeks, there has been an increase number of no shows. As an owner, 1 or 2 on a show with 12-14 people booked isn’t so bad. The problem we had this week is Overdrive had 4 out of 10 RP’s posted. Unacceptable considering where we are as an efed. I understand how we all have lives and blah blah blah, I heard it all, and I know some of you rarely no show and I know some of you are upset about the no shows. So this is the consequences of no shows.
The current rule right now is 3 no shows in a row, without reason, and your out. Remember that.
Now if you no show, expect to get squashed in your match. Let us know enough a head of time that you can’t RP, and we may be able to work something out so you don’t get squashed. If your in line for a push, you may just lose that push and that push would go to someone else and you would have to earn back your previous spot. And if you no show, expect your next match to be tougher than the match you no showed for
If a champion no shows a Non title Match, expect to get squashed, and 1 of 2 things may happen. Your Non Title match may get twitched to a title match, or you will defend your title on the very next show. You will go down the ranks and lose any “rematch clause” and you will have to re-earn the title shot
I think this is all fair. If anyone disagrees, feel free to discuss. Cards are always posted Late Tuesday night or Wednesday Morning, so you should know enough a head of time if you can, or can not RP. We now have a board where you can request time off. So please let us know before I post the card if you can’t RP. If you can’t RP, please let myself or Connor know ASAP and maybe we can work something out. APW is known for having high quality results not only for PPV, but for the weekly shows and the match writers would rather spend time wring a match where two people RPed for it, rather than one person who RPed.
People who no show will get punished in the results but the people who do RP on a regular bases, your efforts aren’t ignored. RPing in APW shouldn’t be a chore, that’s the whole purpose of 1 RP a week. The most RP’s you’ll have to do a month is like 5. I remember a time where people would write 5 RP’s for one match in like 3 days. You have 6 days to post 1 RP. That’s not much to ask, considering your RP’s don’t need to be a novel length. Take 15-20 minutes out of your day for the week, maybe when you wake up or before you go to bed and just write and you’ll have an RP done without taking much time out of your life. I know we all live busy lives, so do I, I work my 40+ hours a week. I have to write matches, post results, update the site, make video’s and find personal time. There are times I wake up early to get stuff done. There are weekends that I don’t work that I spend most of my time doing APW stuff. We all have busy lives and sometimes we need to make small sacrifices to get stuff done.
If your not having fun RPing, or think it’s a chore, let me or Connor know and maybe we can help you get that spark back. Personally, I always found getting deeply involved in an angle and storyline got me excited for writing. It doesn’t need to be a long storyline, a 1 or 2 month thing. So if you feel this way, come up with some sort of storyline, pitch it to me, if I like it or not, we can work with it and come up with a common ground that works for everyone.
At the end of the day, this is a game, but I’ve always said, your gonna get as much out of this as you put into it. APW is about having fun. Winning or losing doesn’t mean much. Winning matches and having titles just gives you the bragging rights. What really matters if creating fun and exciting storylines and feuds. You don’t need to win to have a good storyline. You don’t need titles to have a good storyline. We’re all here because we like wrestling, and we like creating something better than what WWE or TNA could create.
With that said I really hope everyone really starts to RP every week or at least let me know if you can’t. With a second show now, I’m going to try my hardest to make sure we have enough people here so we can do 2 shows every week. We lost 5 people in the past month, and over the next few days I plan on getting the word out on APW and hopefully get some fresh blood in here, and I hope some of you do the same.
Anything I said you’d like to discuss, feel free to reply to this or PM me
