Opening up in a bare parking lot where not much is perceived other than a snow bank, well over ten feet high, a figure off in the gloomy region is approaching the camera. With undersized crimson embers aflame in mid-air and a cloud of smoke being formed by it, it’s believed that one is smoking a cigarette or something that can be drawn in from a slender, cylindrical paper. When the form comes nearer and a street-light radiates light on it, cameras let slip the latest member of the APW roster, Dakota.
Identified as the Feature Presentation elsewhere, he’s branded as a nobody here. That’s okay with him, it really is. He likes to build his name up in unknown territory and become known for somebody else with original and distinct accomplishments. The previous companies he came from pushed to the top based on his earlier achievements. He doesn’t like that, shit like that won’t fly; he wants to earn it, but instead they view him as a household name and somebody who deserves the push. But does he deserve the push? Of course not, he never established himself beforehand in that federation, to him it’s nonsense.
Clearing his throat, Dakota takes in a weighty lungful of air and tosses his roach aside – wasn’t a cigarette, folks.
Dakota: “Not to intrude and make a lot of you irate, I think I'm going to, anyways. You see, I honestly haven't heard much about Action Packed Wrestling, if not nothing at all, but in my point of view it looks like a wrestling federation that is rising up the chart board at an exceptional rate, so I want to be part of it. It's been awhile since I've been a part of something that's so mystifying and pleasant, so pardon me if I take advantage of this world of opportunity. When it comes to intimidating dilemmas, I'm usually one to prove my valiant manners and get involved, only to take advantage of the conflict at hand.”
There have been many instances in the past in which Dakota would meddle with other’s problems, only to have gained the benefits of the said trouble. Two people skirmishing over respect and egotism? World championship contendership on the line, also? Big deal, squeeze Dakota in there and you’ve got yourself a winner as well as an impending main-event match!
Dakota: “You see, I challenge myself to do some things that others are frightened of. While they’re standing back, cautious of what they’ll do to their name, I could care less – a helpful or harmful outcome: it wouldn’t trouble me in the slightest. And that’s why I’m who I am at the moment, that’s why I’ve been in this industry for well over five and a half years. Wherever I go, I’m at the peak of the proverbial mountain of this sport and I’m the most illuminate individual on the roster. APW will be no different, believe me. I’m new here, that’s a given, but I’ll try just as hard if not harder than the veterans and the champions as well as everybody in-between.”
With a lot of work ethic and dedication to giving a lot of effort in every single wrestling match, Dakota doesn’t pull the wool over somebody's eyes around like some infantile superstars. Two months in the age of 32, he’s ready to demonstrate to everybody why he’s been giving it his all since he was 26 years-old. He wants to create a legacy for himself everywhere he goes, as well as teach people things that they may not know. He’s still got a lot to find out, as well, and he’s more than ready to take in more understanding from those greater than him.
Dakota: “I contain the educated mind-set the veterans have and I have the crafty scheme that the champions got. My audacious traits aren’t something injected intravenously, nor am I applying it like make-up. It’s real; it’s something I’ve assembled up over years like a base to a building. There’s no such thing as unsteadiness when it comes to me. When you book me, count on me showing up each and every single week and count on me giving my finest. I have everything you could possibly request in a superstar, it doesn’t make me insuperable, but it makes me somebody you could turn to at any time.”
Honesty at its best. You might believe it’s cockiness or arrogance, but that’s barely it at all. He’s got the skills you call for, he can work a match unlike you could ever think, he’s got an attendance record for wrestling shows like a prep is to school. You can grade his effort and attempt each week and they would exceed your expectations. In time, you will see how loyal he is to this sport. It’s not something he takes lightly. Bare that in mind.
Dakota: “Does APW need something like a five-star performance? Don’t worry; I’ve got you covered because I can give you one as fast as the town outlaw could bring out a pistol from his holster to shoot the sheriff. Believe it or not, I could do it just as quick and keep the wounded alive if they ever wished for a next time. Likelihood is, they typically don’t want a second chance and their own suicide is favoured over another’s homicide. It’s their life and their choice; nonetheless, I respect them mutually and let them be in everlasting peace.”
Most times when one has a brush against Dakota, it’s their first and final time doing so. He doesn’t understand what the reason is behind it and why they only go after him the one time. It’s something that makes him ponder, but as long as he has success at the end of the day and maintains his federation ascendancy, he’s pleased.
Dakota: “Frankly, it would leave me dumbfounded if things were diverse here in APW. The majority of wrestling federations I go to, folks aren’t too courageous and they bottle under the pressure of intimidation. Fuck intimidation, it should be motivation, not something that demoralizes you and makes you tremble in their presence. If people here happen to have something inside of their sacs, particularly balls, then I will most likely have one of the most flourishing runs of my career here. There looks to be heaps of competition all around me, and I’m going to make the most of it all to profit my career, exclusively.”
With his motifs apparent and his intentions identified, he walks out of the dark and damp parking lot to parts unknown. With the camera fading to black, it will be interesting to see what others think of him. He might not have started off to a well-liked start, nor is he earning himself a fine repute at the moment, but with a few matches and wins added to his name, he knows he’ll have a prolific career soon enough.
