Rasslemania 5 it just a few days away. The card is stacked with what looks to be the greatest Rasslemania event yet. 7 Action Packed Matches will take place in Detroit Michigan at the Joe Louis Arena on March 29th. 3 Championship matches. A Grudge match, a Rasslemania 1 rematch, as well as a Hall of Fame Ceremony.
Slade Craven Vs Assassin Vs Destrudo
These three signed APW Contracts in March, this is actually Destrudo’s debut match, and what better place to do it than Rasslemania. Not much is known of Destrudo, but Based on how he looks so far, he can be a fast up and rising star. And the same can be said for Slade and Assassin. These two are no strangers to each other. These two have feuded in the past in other companies. These two may finally get to put an end to their feud, but will Destrudo get involved and not giving them the satisfaction of who is the better man?
“President” Hurricane Jeff Vs Twister
This grudge match is 3 months in the making, and you could argue that its been in the making much longer. These two are no strangers to each other. They battled it out numerous of time, exchanging titles with each other. They we’re even tag champs together. This all began back in December at Christmas Chaos. President Jeff was found knocked out in his office, as a results of a blunt object striking Jeff in the back of the head. It was later revealed, that a Crowbar, which was found in a near by Trash Can with Blood that matches Jeff’s DNA was found on the weapon. After being asked by Police and Investigators to stay away from APW events while investigations took place, Jeff decided to take matters into his own hands and find his attacker himself. After interviewing the APW Roster, and making a conclusion of his own, Jeff gave the attacker the choice to reveal himself, which he did. The Lights went out and when they came back on, Jeff was knocked out with Twister standing over him with the crowbar. Why? Twister said that he’s tired of how Jeff is treating everyone. Jeff says its Twister Jealously of him over the years.
Link Vs Streets Wilson
This feud, starts last month in February. In a match after Streets Wilson and tag partner at the time, Rick Stevens won a match, as they we’re heading through the curtain, they we’re attacked by Link and his tag partner at the time, BDC. They beat down the at the time tag champs. The following week, Link and Streets squared off in the ring and Streets won by a knee bar submission. The following week, in a match that was suppose to be BDC Vs Fyre Angel, got tosses out when BDC was coming out to the ring and Streets and Rick attacked him. Link would later come out and the 4 guys would brawl is out. The end results, Link getting put through a table at a results of a Dooms Day Device clothesline. This then brings us to the PPV Carnage where the two teams fought for the tag titles. Just as it looked like Link and BDC we’re to capture the titles, Streets enters the ring with a chair and nails Link in the head, causing the DQ and retaining the titles. Due to this act, General Manager Max Carter stripped the tag champs of the tag titles, and vacating the titles. After a loss to Jason Royce on Overdrive, Streets Career was heading for a downward spiral. It just happens Link bumped into the former Tag Champ backstage. Looking to change his career around, and wanting a match at the biggest event of the year, Rasslemania, Link agreed to fight Streets. Hopefully putting an end to all this and both men can move on.
Matt Metal Vs Dr. Matt (3 Fall TLC Match)
A match at originally took place at Rasslemania 1 put both guys on the map in the wrestling world. With Matt Metal being inducted into the APW Hall of Fame, it was only fitting if he got the perfect send off with ending his career with the match that began his career. 3 Fall TLC is basically a best 2 out of 3 falls match where the first fall is a chair/no do match. The 2nd fall is a tables match and the third and final fall if necessary, a ladder match. In their first meeting, Dr. Matt defeated Matt Metal for the CWF Xtreme title. Matt Metal is looking to go out with a bang. This match came about when Dr. Matt announced one week that he was going to fight at Rasslemania and threw out an open challenge. The following week, Matt took a seat in the ring and wasn’t moving until his challenge was answered and Matt Metal accepted, figuring he was going to be at Rasslemania anyways for the hall of fame, why not fight an old rival and relive one of the most important matches in Rasslemania history.
The Hardcore Kid Vs Jason Royce: Xtreme Title Hardcore In Hell Match
A lot of history between these two men and it all begins last year, February in 2008. Basically, since day one of APW. These two fought at Last Years Carnage which the Hardcore Kid won. The fought another time on Overdrive to a double count out and they fought again last year at Rasslemania IV. Just when you thought these two we’re done with each other, they form a tag team and become 2 time APW Tag Champs and longest reigning tag champs. But like all tag teams, eventually they broke up. After Jason Royce hired a body guard, Carl Cage, The Hardcore Kid believed that they didn’t need a body guard. After being put in a tag title match against Twister and Michael Lively, Royce goes in for the tag but The Hardcore Kid pulls away, letting Royce to fend for himself. The Hardcore Kid claiming that he’s tired of Carrying Jason Royce and that he’s tired of being held down. A fatal 4 way match was made at Christmas Chaos, Xtreme Champ, Jason Royce Vs Fyre Angel Vs Carl Cage Vs The Hardcore Kid. The Hardcore Kid manage to walk out that night as the Xtreme Champion. Since then, the Hardcore Kid has been on a roll you could say, fairing better than Royce. The Kid eliminated Royce in the Survive and Conquer match and would end up lasting up until the final 4. At Carnage in the War Games match, The Hardcore Kid was on the winning side while Royce was let down by his partners. This month, the two tried to up each other in who is more Hardcore. The Hardcore Kid defeated Dr. Matt in a falls count anywhere’s match and Royce fell short to John Green in a Hardcore match. And just last week, After the Hardcore Kid defeated JC Styles, Royce appeared on the Titantron, live from the Kids home in Las Vegas. Royce sent a message to the Kid when he smashed a window in the Kid’s house and set the Kid’s house on fire. This feud took a turn for the worse last week, and with the Xtreme Title on the line in this Hardcore in Hell match, this match won’t be for the weak at heart.
Hall of Fame
The APW Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place at Rasslemania. 3 legends will be inducted into the 2009 class. Matt Metal, former CWF and WWC world Champion. Razor Ryan, found most of his success in National Online Wrestling. And Alternativ, a muli-time world champion, a mentor to President Jeff and Matt Metal, and truly a legend. These three will be in attendance for Rasslemania
John Green Vs Shadow
What was looking to be Carl Cage defending the Overdrive title against John Green quickly changed for the better of a new APW Superstar. The Shadow, in just his second APW match last week was given an opportunity at the Overdrive title, and in just under 15 seconds, The Shadow defeated Carl Cage for the title, and now will defend the title against #1 contender, John Green. Since returning to APW, the former APW World and Xtreme Champion has been on the rise. John was in the final two of the Survive and Conquer match, and fell short to Level One at Carnage. John Green also beat the World Champion, Michael Lively this month as well. The Shadow isn’t a rookie and John Green is looking to have a better showing this year at Rasslemania compared to last year. A win for Green will make him the only person in APW to hold all 3 singles titles. Can John Green do it or will The Shadow ruin his plans
Michael Lively Vs Level One: World Title Match
The Match of the Night. Michael Lively won the world title at New Years Retribution. At the same event, Level One won the Survive and Conquer match to guarantee himself a world title shot at Rasslemania. These two ended up facing off early in January where in a close match, Level One squeezed out the victory. From there, Lively would go on to lead the Hired Gunz into the War Games match at Carnage,. Level One was not scheduled to be in this match, found his way in, by taking out Carl Cage and forced his way into the match. Lively and Level One locked horns in the match, but in the end results, Lively and the Hired Gunz came out Victorious. In the events leading up to this match, The first Overdrive of March, after a long fought out match with John Green, Michael Lively was ready to leave the ring when Level One came out. The two brawled until security would pull the two apart. The following Week, after a No DQ match with Link, which Lively won, EMT’s took Lively out on a stretcher after both he and Link went through a table. Its just happened that one of the EMT’s was Level One. With Lively strapped in and no way to defend himself, Level One attacked Lively and put him thought the Stretcher after giving him a leg drop off the top rope. This left the Rasslemania main event in question. Would Lively be able to fight. The contract signing took place last week on Overdrive. As soon as it looked like Lively wouldn’t be able to sign the contract and forfeit the title over to Level One, Lively came out and rips off his neck brace and attacks Level One, giving him the Lions Bite Through a table. Lively signs the contract and the show goes off the air with Lively standing tall as champion.
Rasslemania V has been build up to be a great Pay Per View. An end of an era and the beginning of a new one. You don’t want to miss this event. History will be made.
