As you all should know, I’ve mentioned that changes we’re coming. Now, these changes are open for discussion and would love feedback from everyone, rather you love it, hate it or have a better idea.
Lets start with Overdrive.
There’s going to be changes to how results will be done. For the past 4 months or so, I’ve rarely been getting any help with the writing of matches for Overdrive. If I keep going to way I am, writing 5 matches a week per show, then I’m gonna get burned out, and we all know what happens when fed heads get burned out, so we don’t want to go down that road. The changes will be that there will no longer be full length matches on Overdrive, Unless it’s a Title match Or The Main Event. As for the other matches, there will be a summarized recap style. It won’t be a small paragraph recap either. That said, that doesn’t mean I don’t want help with the results. I’d still like people to volunteers to help write the show if they can.
Segments
Overdrive will feature more segments. Level One and I are working together to generate some storylines between everyone. And because of that, I strongly encourage everyone to maybe work with the person their feuding with and write segments for Overdrive and send them in. The more control you have over your feud, the better. Trust me, you don’t want Level One or me or anyone else writing a segment for your character. No one knows your character as better then you, so for you to send in a segment will have a more power full boost to your storyline. And it prevents anyone from portraying your character wrong.
The purpose of this is to hopefully, cut down the length of Overdrive a bit, allowing everyone to be able to sit down for 10-15 minutes and actually read the whole show. Because I know that almost all of you just read your match, maybe even skim it, and skim through the rest of the results and see who wins. This way, I hope every one takes the time, reads everyone segments, and be more involved with the fed and the knowing of what’s going on. Maybe as a result, you become a fan of other people’s work and would want to feud with them. Having long weekly results is nice, but really, it doesn’t make it the best show out on the net. Long full length results should be for PPV. And doing so, we can have more PPV’s like Rasslemania V was.
Speaking of PPV’s.
If you saw my other post, you’d see that we’re taking a week off and the next Overdrive is on April 15. You might be wondering, “Then when is the PPV” Well, where we want to focus more time now on storylines and feud building, I have decided to cut back on PPV’s from 12 to either 6,7 or 8. I still need to figure this out. Why? Because where we do 3 shows and a PPV, its not enough time to properly build a match and have it end at a PPV. Some times it takes 2 shows to get a match build up or to get someone in a feud, and by that time, they go into the PPV like any other show. Cutting down the number of PPV benefits all of us. Here’s why.
1. We can still do 3 shows a month, but it allows room to have an extra week to RP for the PPV.
2. Allows us to build up the PPV even more.
3. With the cutting back the length of Overdrives, when PPV times comes and the full results are there, the excitement of PPV’s will be there. Cause lets face it, Our Overdrives look like PPV’s and when PPV’s come, their like an Overdrive with title matches and gimmick matches.
So that’s the changes coming to APW starting right now. I’ll keep everyone posted on the PPV situation. The next PPV will be in May for Mayhem. So please reply with any feedback on the changes, good or bad, I don’t care. Any questions on them, just ask. I want APW to be around as long as possible, and I think these are the right steps to do so.
