* A young man of the age of fourteen sits in front of his computer and opens up the web browser on his desktop. He clicks the address bar at the top of the screen and enters www.betweentheropes.com, a second later the homepage shows up and he clicks this week’s show title “Surprise Guest.”*
Brian Fritz: “Hello and welcome to this week’s Between the Ropes. Now I know last week I promised you to have Bobby Lashley on the show to talk about his TNA debut. But we here at the station heard of even greater news that we had to kick out Lashley from the program and bring in an even bigger star than him.”
Dickerman: “Yeah, in fact here he is.”
Brian Fritz: “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the former EwC champion and current EwC superstar Jesse “The Prodigy” Nunez.”
Jesse Nunez: “What up, how are you guys doin’?”
Brian Fritz: “We’re doing great, how about you?”
Jesse Nunez: “Very good.”
Brian Fritz: “So Stranglemania 7 was just a few weeks ago and from what was seen and wrote about from reporters that it was the lowest rated Stranglemania in EwC History. Any reason as to why that happened?”
Jesse Nunez: “You know what; the fans of EwC have been extremely loyal to the company. But EwC hasn’t returned anything back to them. They set up a card and they tell us to go out there and do something for a half hour and get the Hell outta there. The fans see that and figure why bother.”
Dickerman: “So it’s management’s fault that the EwC is a dying breed.”
Jesse Nunez: “Well I wouldn’t necessarily put all the blame on them. Look at the current VP at EwC. He was put into a position to run the company with no help whatsoever. The owner disappeared and left him in charge of what was already the downfall. He is doin’ the best he can and I’m there to help him in any way I can as it seems like I’m really the only one still dedicated on doin’ this company some justice.”
“So the blame has to go to the superstars there. They are not showing any dedication whatsoever and some of them just got up and left without sayin’ a word. Others at least said they were done, which I give em’ some credit for, but they could have stayed and helped if they loved the company that much.”
Brian Fritz: “I see. So what’s the current state of the Extreme Wrestling Corporation?”
Jesse Nunez: “It’s barely hanging in there. It’s on life support and it is just a matter of time until somebody pulls the plug. But regardless of what happens, I’ma be there until the end, especially since I’m still under contract.”
Brian Fritz: “Speaking of which, you are currently the highest paid superstar on the EwC roster. How does that feel to be making so much money?”
Jesse Nunez: “It feels alright I guess. I kinda feel bad as you can see I didn’t have a special entrance at Stranglemania this year because the budget is pretty tight. And most of the money goin’ to the EwC is goin’ straight to me. But that’s business I guess.”
Brian Fritz: “I understand you tried to retire but your contract didn’t allow it. Why wouldn’t they just let you go, knowing they will get some of that money back?”
Jesse Nunez: “They need somebody there to put the people in the arenas. I’m their biggest and only draw at the moment without me how else would they get any sort of profit? But I feel once its done and over with they will feel happy and so will the fans.”
Dickerman: “Come on Brian, ask him about the big news!”
Brian Fritz: “Alright, Jesse, we were told from an inside source that you have something HUGE planned. What is it? Are you going to finally settle down after you retire and pick a damn girl to marry already or what is happening?”
Jesse Nunez: (Laughs) “Actually I just recently got engaged to my former High School sweetheart.”
Dickerman: “Congratulations.”
Jesse Nunez: “Thank you. But I guess the huge news is that I actually signed a new contract with another promotion.”
Brian Fritz: “Woah! A new promotion!? Who?”
Jesse Nunez: “Well a day before Stranglemania I got a phone call from an old EwC friend of mine Max Carter. He told me that Hurricane Jeff runs a promotion called Action Packed Wrestling and he is interested in me comin’ to work for him. Max Carter was a genius back in EwC as a general manager, so I knew right off the bat if Carter is cool with it than I’ll be cool with it. So I went in the day after Stranglemania to APW headquarters and signed on the dotted line.”
Dickerman: “That is huge news! Way better than Bobby Lashley heading to TNA!”
Brian Fritz: “APW does seem like the new home to EwC superstars and they are actually flourishing faster over there than they did at EwC.”
Jesse Nunez: “I’ve heard that and I’m real excited to go there and show em’ how I run things. So everyone at APW you better watch yo’ back because The Prodigy is comin’.”
Brian Fritz: “Thanks for coming on the show Jesse.”
Jesse Nunez: “No problem.”
Brian Fritz: “Make sure to catch Jesse Nunez on Action Packed Wrestling within the coming weeks everybody. I’m Brian Fritz along with Dickerman from Between the Ropes. Good night.”
