Who's ready for some football?? Those Bears are looking mighty good! I see them winning the NFC North this year. Who else is looking forward to the '09 season?

Man, the Bears will NOT win the NFC North.... They'll make the wild card though. I got the Vikes winning the NFC North, with Bret Favre throwin the ball and A.P. running it, it'll be hard to stop their offense.

Favre will be their downfall. He'll be WHY the Vikings don't make the playoffs. All Day is a beast, I'm not taking anything away from him. But Favre will throw about 25 picks this year. Ok, maybe not 25, but damn near close.
Why The Bears will win the NFC North:
Matt Forte - Led ALL runningbacks in receptions. 2nd in the entire NFL in total yards behind only Adrian Peterson.
Jay Cutler - This guy could throw the ball through a brick wall.
Orlando Pace and the rest of the O-Line - Chris Williams is finally healthy, Olin Kreutz is simply the best center out there, and I don't think John Tait's retirement is going to affect us.
The Monsters Of The Midway - They're back baby. Tommie Harris is going to have a HUGE year. Despite being injured al the time, only Albert Hainsworth has more sacks in the last 3 years.

There's no doubt that the Bears look good this year. I also agree that Farve will be the downfall of the Vikings, but in reality, Chicago, Green Bay and Minnesota all have good shots at representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. Personally, I'm pulling for the 49ers to have a breakout year, and possibly make a run at the wild card.

I don't understand many of the rules in American Football (which is what we call it), but when it's on I watch it, and enjoy it. I understand the four downs, and that they have to make 10 yards to get another 4 downs, and that there's an offence, defence and special teams etc. I haven't got a clue what half of the fouls are for though, and why there's so many referees lol. All in all it's a good game, but I'm a rugby man myself. If anyone wants to talk rugby, bring it on

The 49ers are my second favorite team. I LOVE Mike Singletary.

Btw Biggs, what do you think about Crabtree sitting out? You think he'll go the whole year?

That's funny that the Niners are your second favorite team, because the Bears are my second fave.
To answer your question about Crabtree, he'd be fool to sit out, because this diva like behavior will only hurt his draft value next year. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if he did, if only because he knows Singletary wouldn't put up with any of his crap. Ideally, though, he'd sign and earn his contract.

I think the North will comes down to Minnesota & Green Bay. I think the Packers 3-4 defense will do them some good later in the year. Especially with Dom Capers running the defense.
As for the Bears they'll have a good year but I just don't see them having enough targets for Cutler other then Olsen & Hester.
These are my picks to win each division.
NFC East-Cowboys,Eagles NFC South-Falcons NFC West-Cards NFC North-Vikings,Packers
AFC East-Pats,Dolphins AFC South-Colts,Texans AFC North-Ravens,Steelers AFC West-Chargers
I'm looking forward to USC & Ohio St. tonight as well as Notre Dame against Michigan.

I got the Bears in the playoffs, but you can't deny the Vikings were a good team last year and if your trying to say Bret Favre is not an upgrade from Gus Frerrote (However you spell it) then your smokin some crack.
My picks are
NFC East: Giants NFC South: Falcons NFC: West: Cards NFC North: Vikings Wild Card: Eagles, Bears
AFC East: Dolphins (Call it a hunch) AFC South: Titans AFC North: Steelers AFC West: Chargers Wild Card: Patriots, Ravens

If Chicago's WR core isn't upgraded by picking up someone named MARVIN from FA, it's hard to picture the Bears going 10-6 and grabbing a wild card spot.

If they don't see them winning 10 then they won't make the playoffs HANDS DOWN!!! That NFC North is looking like the toughest division this year, with Green Bay having a good team, the Vikings led by A.P. and Favre, and Da Bears. Although not the best receiving corp, they're not the worst either. Devin Hester's capable of a big play every down and Cutler's got the arm to get it there. Although Harrison would improve the Bears receivers, he's not a crucial piece to the puzzle, especially considering his numbers went down the past couple of years. With or with out Marvin, I just don't see the Bears in the super bowl this year.

Good for you Jesse. It's about time Dallas starts playing up to their pontential. They're the Chicago Cubs of baseball right now.
