Yes, let's talk fantasy football people! I've been doing fantasy football almost as long as I've been E Fedding and let me tell you, the shit's just as addictive. This year I've taken on the responsibility of 3 teams and let me tell you what, with week 1 basically over I'm pretty impressed with my teams.
TEAM 1 : I took Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson early to put together an amazing receiving corps. As my dark horse picks, I'm starting Matt Ryan at QB with Addai and Willie Parker at RB.
Due to only gettin 1 point of Parker, it looks like they'll lose this week unless my kicker can score atleast as many points as their D. I honestly am OK with the results considering Parker's game and having to start Berrian (He was on the active roster but didn't play) who didn't get me anything.
TEAM 2: This team has D. Williams from Carolina and Thomas Jones at the running back positions and a current QB battle between Phillip Rivers and Tony Romo.
Well, this teams Receivers are REALLY weak and hoping to use Tony Romo to trade for a stud receiver before next week's games. With an improvement to the receiving corps (as of now its Berrian, Donald Driver, and Walter) I believe this team could do great things this season. However due to a mere 3 points from my receivers combined, barring a monster game by Rivers, I'm chalking this one up as a loss.
TEAM 3: As of now, this is the only team I'm getting a W from (unless T.O. gets like 20 points). My running backs are Grant from Green Bay and Kevin Smith from Detroit. My #1 Draft Pick however was the one and only Drew Brees! My receivers are even decent with Percy Harvin (the minnesota rookie), Santana Moss (Inconsistent yes, but still solid overall), and Houston's Kevin Walter (2 be honest, I took this pick trusting a friend on all 3 teams and he's now hurt so let's see if this gets better).
With only my Kicker on my team and T.O. left to play, I'm up 8 seemingly cruising my way to a victory. I believe just due to a bad week, Percy Harvin was the only receiver that got me any points this game. However, DREW BREES THREW 6 TDS!!! This ungodly game from Brees has me in a good position to win a game my receivers would have other wise blown for me.
OVERALL FEEL: Well, aside from team 1, my WRs had a very shitty week with the exception of Percy Harvin. Right now I'm feeling tricked by my good friend Barry for picking Walter on not 1, not even 2, but all 3 of my teams (He's my reserve on team 1). If Parker's game stays horrible then I have Cadillac Williams on my bench who had a pretty big game this week so I really have no worries with that team from top to bottom. When it comes to team 2,I think I can get a stud receiver for Romo, whom I don't like and after a big week is good trade bait. If I make that happen, then this team should be a contender in the league, if not I'm looking for an unsigned sleeper. With team 3, I'm currently getting Gage off free agency to help with the Walter absence for next week. With a move as subtle as that, I think this team, already a contender, could be the powerhouse of that league.
If you play Fantasy Football post your games and teams up here. If you got any ideas on possible roster moves for me, let me know, and I'll return favors.
P.S. If this post bored you, then I guess ya shouldn't of read it HUH?! I guess next week you'll be smarter when I post Fantasy Football Week 2.
