The scene opens up showing a large advertisement hoarding in the city of New York. The hoarding is advertising the APW PPV New Years Retribution. Due to the fact that the sun has set and night has fell, there is a light shining on the hoarding making it all visible. The hoarding has a huge amount of space took up about the Survive and Conquer match up. Conveniently on the other side of the road, there is an IWF Hoarding similar in size, with a feature of the main event match featuring Adam Freeman and Nic Stone. The camera then pulls out and shows the main road and a figure standing on the sidewalk. The camera zooms in as cars speed up the main road with their headlights beaming brightly. Its not until the camera gets really close to the figure that is identity is revealed. The man is Adam Freeman, a current IWF superstar, and former World Champion. He is wearing dark clothing matching his current darkened mood with his hair styled as usual waxed up at the front. Freeman has an awkward grin on his face as he looks on at the hoardings. This receives many strange looks from passengers in the cars and other motor vehicles that pass by. Freeman then slowly walks up the sidewalk, dodging any dropped gum and droppings from dogs. He then pauses looking at the APW hoarding and shakes his head.
Freeman: Isn’t it convenient that they would put up an APW hoarding, at the side of an IWF hoarding, to totally different wrestling companies, trying to advertise to the people of New York to watch their show. This week is a big week in the wrestling world, APW holds its New Years Retribution PPV, a PPV that includes stars from many different wrestling organisations. The event on paper looks impressive and if the whole thing can be pulled off, APW might just achieve something more than the lacklustre programming its fans have to put up with each. You can’t blame the fans for wanting some kind of a change, you can’t blame the fans for looking elsewhere at other organisation hoping to see a show that won’t just entertain them, but will show good wrestlers that wrestle in good matches.
Freeman shakes his head with an almost look of disgust on his face.
Freeman: Over the last month or so I have watched Overdrive tapes, and I have looked back at the 2009 shows and the problems seem to be mounting. There’s a lack of a real leader in APW, there is a lack of a true GM to inject some kind of stability and not fuck up the shows. One of the many reasons the shows are going down hill is because of a face I have unfortunately known for many years. And he goes under the name Biggs. When I found out Biggs was a GM in APW, I almost died of laughter, week by week your ruin the hard work that others have put in to make APW a success. There’s no order and there is nothing stopping the show becoming an absolute disaster. Around a month or so ago in IWF we were in a triple threat match and in the build up to that match I made some comments about APW that maybe were a little ill judge and premeditated at the time, but fast forwarding to now, I stick my comments and used my great intelligence to make my way to an APW event. Because there is no order, because there seems to be not set rules and anyone can do what they like on Overdrive, I was easily able to get inside APW’s arena and give you a taste of your own medicine. Apparently there are no rules to be broken and I cost you a chance to regain your title and it was ridiculously easy to do so Biggs. Its came to the point where I am sick and tired of hearing about you, and I am sick and tired of seeing you. And now you have made your way over to the IWF, the thing about the IWF is that there are in control of the show, there are rules enforced and the people with the appropriate power have everything covered, and you will never hold any power in IWF as long as I have blood flowing through my veins. As for the APW brand, it may just be too late to lift the show out of the huge whole you continue to dig for it.
Freeman smiles and looks happy with the comments he is making.
Freeman: In the long run Biggs, you have hurt the APW, and I many not be able to save the APW, even if I could I would not want to, but what I can do is save the fans who have bought a ticket for the PPV on the 31st January. I can save them from the prospect of another poorly run show with poorly booked matches and rules. I can save them from having to watch you run around doing what you want when you want because you won’t be able to do that this Sunday. I could go on forever on you wrong doings in APW but let’s have a little history lesson here and get down to business. You denied on Overdrive that you cared about our previous matches in the CJMB, but you know, as do I that deep down somewhere it will be eating away at you leading up to our match because that I forced you into submission taking away your Million Dollar Title. Whether you deny it or not I know that its playing on your mind, any time I grab your legs and attempt the same submission you tapped out too, fear will creep in, your heart will beat a little faster, you will get desperate and start wriggling around like a fish out of water, then the next thing you know you will be locked in the centre of the ring with me sat on your back wrenching as hard as my body will allow to me too. Every second in that hold you will relive the past matches we have, you will relive the pain you experienced before. You will reach out hoping that you will feel the bottom rope but the ropes won’t be there to reach, any hope of winning the match will disappear and you will find yourself banging the mat with all you might and once again tapping out. The fact that you will be on guard for this move could lead to your down fall even if you manage to squirm out the way before I lock in the submission, your mind will be focusing too much on one thing that I could just take my victory in 3 seconds catching you with a double knee’s to the fact and you’ll be out like a light, either way Biggs the ending is still the same, my arm will be lifted and you’ll be staring at the face of defeat.
Freeman laughs a little to himself which quickly turns to the grin that was show earlier. Freeman then continues walking down the sidewalk as the scene ends.
