New York, NY
Madison Square Garden. The World's Most Famous Arena. The Mecca of professional wrestling. And on this weekend, the site of not one, but two pay per view extravaganzas. The Impact Wrestling Federation is holding it's first pay per view since resuming operations a little over two months ago, Inception, featuring the crowning of three new champions. Action Packed Wrestling's annual New Year's Retribution event is also set to take place. Both promise to be epic events, and they will air one right after the other. As the IWF and APW ring crews work together to prepare the arena for both shows, Biggs is meeting with the owner of IWF, Montana. Montana's appearance is similar to that of Tony Montoya from the film “Scarface,” and the accent to match.
Biggs: Well, Montana, I'm glad that we were able to work something out in being able to hold both pay per views here on the same night. It's a real shame that Inception had to be delayed a whole week.
Montana: It ended up working a-better for me. Since the two shows are back to back, we were able to sell those standing room only tickets good for both shows, at a premium price, of course, thus filling our coffers even more.
Biggs: And because all the stage and banners are display screens, that totally helps in transitioning from show to show. All we'll need to do is change the aprons!
Montana: APW and IWF both look to make a lot of money on tomorrow night! Whicha makes me a very happy man!
Biggs: I got to say, the prospect of becoming the first ever IWF Intecontinetal Champion paired with facing off against Adam Freeman in APW, I can't help but be happy about tomorrow night.
Montana: Just maka sure that you don't injure Freeman too badly. He is my main event, after all.
Biggs: I can't make that promise. But I can promise that I'll embarrass him, and prove that his advancement to the championship finals was a fluke.
Montana: I'd like that very much.
Biggs: Me too.
Biggs and Montana shake hands and share a laugh. The two men then turn back to survey all the work being done, making sure that everything will go off without a hitch the next night.
Sunday, January 31 12:00pm
Biggs and Ellie are standing in the interview area, clad in their street gear. Cindy Shannon is there to interview Biggs, and per the orders of Chris Cyrus, she is dressed in a short pleather skirt and a halter top, with go-go boots. Biggs and Ellie laugh at her getup, before she begins to speak.
Shannon: Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with Biggs and Ellie for an APW.com exclusive interview. Biggs, at tonight's New Year's Retribution pay per view, you take on a man with whom you have quite the history with in Adam Freeman. What are your thought's on tonight's matchup?
Biggs: Cindy, do you have any sense of pride in your work? I mean, when you show up looking like that, I honestly can't take you seriously. I don't think you understand the concept of professionalism, showing up to work dressed like that!
Ellie: Seriously, sweetie, you probably want to go get changed.
Cindy has an indignant look on her face, and shoves the mic towards Biggs before huffing off in a fit. Biggs grabs a hold of the mic, and begins to speak.
Biggs: Man, I'm glad she's gone. That fish smell was really bothering me. Still, onto my match with Adam Freeman tonight, I heard what Adam had to say about how I've never beaten him, how it's somehow eating me up inside that every time we've met, he's come out victorious. As I said on Overdrive, both times you defeated me, there were extenuating circumstances. Back in the CJMB, when I defended the Million Dollar Championship against you, well, I'll be honest, my heart wasn't in the match in the slightest. Not only was I saving myself for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match later in the night, I saw the Million Dollar Championship for what it really was, a way for the higher ups of that fed to try and hold me back. I was glad to give you that ball and chain, because it was doing me no favors. I tapped out simply because that title did not matter to me, and I didn't want to risk injury before my chance at winning Money in the Bank. As for a couple of weeks ago on Monday Night Mayhem, that was a Triple Threat match, a match which relies even more on luck than it does skill. The bottom line, Freeman, is that you got lucky. You took advantage of an opening, and capitalized, pinning my shoulders to the mat. But the fact is, Freeman, that when we face off later tonight, it'll be just you and me in that ring. And that's a very dangerous place for you to be.
Biggs cracks his trademark smirk, as Ellie giggles with slightly sadistic glee.
Biggs: You see, Freeman, the thing is, the fact that you beat me in the past doesn't bother me one bit. Like I said before, there were extenuating circumstances. What bothers me is the fact that people actually think that you're a better wrestler than I am. In fact, it flat out pisses me off. Our match is being billed as an APW vs. IWF match, but its far more personal than that. I could care less about your badmouthing of APW, because quite frankly, your word means next to nothing. When you say that APW is garbage, it's like a redneck talking about the merits of a university study. It's irrelevant. What is relevant, though, is the fact that you cost me the Overdrive Championship when you interfered in my match with Pence Weatherlight. You had no right to get involved, you had no reason to get involved, only that you wanted to show once more that you are supposedly better than me. Well Freeman, now you get the chance to actually find out if you really are. Actually, let's be honest here, you won't even have that chance, because there's no chance of you beating me at New Year's Retribution. You're going to be far too concerned with the IWF Heavyweight Championship match to give me your full attention, and that's a mistake on your part. Because even though our match tonight isn't for a championship, it really is all about a championship. You denied me my right to become the first ever three-time Overdrive Champion and continue the work I had done to restore honor and dignity to that belt. Now, the belt is doomed to a hot-potato like existence, jumping from wrestler to wrestler, because let's face it, nobody could be as great of an Overdrive Champion as I was. So Adam Freeman, when I fight you tonight, when I beat you absolutely senseless and embarrass you and the IWF, it's not just going to be myself whom I'm fighting for, but for the Overdrive Championship as well. Because once you're out of the way, Adam Freeman, there's nobody who can stop me from getting my belt back.
Ellie: It is his belt, after all!
Biggs: Because, Adam Freeman, here in APW I am in charge! I know that it pains you to know that I have achieved something that you will never be able to, Adam Freeman. And the fact that I am in charge, Freeman, well that ensures that you have absolutely no chance of beating me in that ring. If things aren't going the way I want them to, I can make any change I want to the match, ensuring my victory. I'm in control, Adam, and there's nothing you can do about it. Because unlike you, Adam, I don't care how I get the win, just that I get it. The ends justify the means, even if it means taking advantage of every opportunity I am given. That's why we're different, Freeman, and that's why I will be the one with his hand raised in victory. You say that I'll never achieve power in IWF, but whether that's true or not, it doesn't matter when I have control of APW. Because despite your inaccurate claims, Level-One, Chris Cyrus, and myself have led APW to new heights in the ratings. We have led APW to record grosses at live events. We have quite simply led APW into the single greatest era it has ever had! You can badmouth APW all you want, Freeman, but you can't dispute the numbers, just like you won't be able to dispute the fact that I am better than you in every way imaginable when I defeat you in that ring tonight. And it will happen, because not only do I have absolute power, by I am absolutely out of this WORLD!
Biggs smirks again, and then he and Ellie walk off.
